What is trunk or treat?

I can field this one since I did 2 of them yesterday.

Trunk or Treat is basically when a group of people get together, decorate the trunk of their cars (what you may call the 'boot') and pass out candy that way.

The most popular form where I live is churches doing this. It's seen as a way to give children a safer alternative than going house to house and getting candy from complete strangers. Our local police department and other organizations also host their own variation on the theme. They've gained a lot of popularity in the United States in the last several years.

Thanks, everyone!

Jen- I got reported for saying something " inappropriate and offensive" the other day in the forum & it did give me a bit of a shock. I think it was taken a bit out of context, but it did really surprise me & has made me feel a bit wary.

Someone reported you?! That's just crazy! I guess I better watch my mouth around here then. lol! Thanks, Mike for explaining trunk-or-treat. Chef and I actually talked about participating in the future. The one we went to was hosted by one of our local churches, but since we live in such a small town, the whole community is usually involved. There's usually local law enforcement and first responders there too, so the kids can take a tour of an ambulance or fire truck. People are handing out cider and donuts. The decorations and costumes are usually pretty entertaining too. It's a fun little gathering. :)

I must admit I got a shock, but I'll soon forget about it. Your Halloween sounds like lots of fun Jen!

Wow Cate thats weird someone reported you. Whenever I talk to my husband about you I say "Cate, one of the forum elders" haha and ive noticed a couple of people complaining that they dont get a quick enough response- which probably means they should go to a chat room if thats the experience they want and I've said to my husband " the forum elders will sort them out" which is always done very politely but its good that people on here show so much respect and care for each other. Sorry for the random rant.

Jen halloween sounds so fun I dressed up once in Aus and went to a party but it was pretty boring because no one else in the neighbourhood participated- cant imagine how awesome it would be if everyone got into it

Jen told me the other day that someone reported you for apparently saying something "inappropriate" or whatever and my initial reaction was "What the FUCK? CATE? Are you KIDDING ME?" Whatever it was, I'm sure whoever reported you is either an over-sensitive, fragile whiner or just completely misinterpreted something you said. I wouldn't sweat it.

I've been on here for years and can't recall ONE thing you've said that even comes close to being inappropriate or offensive.

Ok, guys... I dug deep in the back of the closet yesterday. I actually had to use my son's Lego Batman flashlight to find it, but I found my Fitbit!! I charged it up and started using it around 8 o'clock last night when I used the treadmill. I was around 6, 000 steps when I went to bed, but that obviously doesn't include all the steps I took during the day. I also did some power-walking around the house to get that 6, 000. I'm a dork. :D

I want to add to my goals for November...

1. Exercise 3-4 times a week.
2. Take at least 10,000 steps a day.
3. Calories between 1300 and 1500 most days, and definitely below maintenance level.
4. Drink more water!

I got on the scale again today... and again it said the same EXACT freaking number. I've weighed myself several times this week, and I've tried to not let it bother me, but eff that... You suck, scale! You suuuuuck! :cuss: I think the scale and I need to take some time apart. lol! So, I won't weigh-in again until the 11th. My calories have been really good and I'm exercising, there's not much else I can really do. I just have to wait for it to cooperate. I'm not good at waiting. :(

I do feel and see a difference, so that's at least encouraging.

And...I am more envious of the lego batman flash light than the fit bit lol
You should be... I mean, look at it! It's awesome! :p

I wubs my FitBit too. I just switched back to it from a Garmin. I dunno how to find my name to add people though, but if anyone wants to give me their info, I'll add 'em. :p

I don't know if I can post a link to my fitbit profile on here or not? I can't figure out how to add someone by just the username(number) . All I see is adding someone via facebook or email. If not, go ahead and remove this, Tru! https://www.fitbit.com/user/2ZNJC3

We have the Batman alarm clock at our house. My 20 year old loves it-lol. Don't get hung up on the number on the scale. If you can feel and see a difference that is all that matters. Maybe weigh once a month? Well I guess I have to get myself a fitbit so we can all be Fitbit Friends. I am looking to buy a new tracker as my last one gave up the ghost.

& now I really have to get a Fitbit! I have saved both of those profiles.
Great goals Jen!
Chef, I know it was misinterpreted, but it still took me a little by surprise.

I have no problem with this, regular members posting the occasional link slides under the mod radar lol. :)

it just people posting up links to self promote when they first join that usually cop the mod hammer :smash:

Sharing fitbit data to push each other can only be of benefit, I personally find the fitbit bands too inaccurate for the type of training I do, I prefer to stick to the traditional hear rate monitor.
