I'm glad the pilates is making your back feel better. Or worse. Depends on how you look at it, HAHAHAHA.

I know you've been in a lot of pain recently, so I'm hoping this does the trick and takes away some of that discomfort. It is fun working out with you, but it's more fun knowing it's working for you.

Great work happening in here. I'm hoping for a big drop Saturday. I have some catching up to do.
Thanks, Quercus. I'm sure you'll have a big drop soon! :)

I went to a pilates class tonight. I definitely think I'm going to be sore tomorrow. It's one of my favorite classes though. :D
Yay for Pilates!!! :)

It sounds like you might be struggling with water consumption?
I definitely struggle with water. I've been doing a little better this week though. Morning workouts are pretty much out for me. I am not a morning person at ALL. I usually end up working out in the afternoon, while my kids are at school, or at night after they're in bed. I think my biggest struggle with the water is that I just hate it... haha! I have to flavor it somehow, or I'm not drinking it. Hopefully by next week I'll be more used to drinking it, and can up my intake even more. :)

It is fun working out with you, but it's more fun knowing it's working for you.

Aww.. thank you, honey. :)

Calories were around 1250 last night, and should be under 1300 today. I'm taking a rest today from exercise. My hips hurt, especially the left side. I've had heat on it all day, so I'm hoping it will feel a bit better tomorrow.

Today was a half day of school, and so is tomorrow. I'm tired and ready for bed. lol!

Ji Jen, Do you like lemon? A squeeze of lemon juice in water is good. I have a hot lemon drink every night now, even during Summer as the last few years I have got Summer colds, but this year, touch wood, I haven't. I have the juice of half a lemon, a heaped teaspoon of honey & also a Lemon/ginger teabag in hot water each night before I go to bed. I also think it helps me sleep well. Hope your hips feel better soon.Mine have been hurting too, especially my right, but it's Arthritis for me....& maybe from golf! Cheers, Cate

Thanks, guys!

Cate- I do like lemon. Right now I'm just using flavor packets, but I might have to give that a try.
Cory- My hips are really sore where the thigh meets the groin area and around the outside too. They've been like that for years, and it gets worse when I exercise. I think it's the hip flexor muscles? Today I got a nice sharp pain in the outside of the left one though. So I don't know... all I do know is that they hurt... haha! I have a doctor appointment on Monday morning, so I'm going to be asking about it.

Calories were around 1300 yesterday, and should be about the same today. No exercise again today. My stomach doesn't feel very good at all, and my hip still hurts. I really hate resting another day, but I don't want to push it. I'm hoping this goes away soon. Hopefully the doctor has some ideas, because my health problems seem to be adding up lately. I feel like I'm 90, not 34. Ugh!

Chef has the weekend off, we have a cheat day planned for tomorrow. We both need it. We just need to relax and have fun... and eat something that's not good for us. haha!

If your body is really saying 'no' then you have to listen to it. No point in injuring yourself further.

Jen, stretch them! It's most likely the hip flexor muscle. They tend to get really tight, especially with modern society doing a lot of sitting. I swear that stretching them out will make you feel like a new person. Here's a few good stretches:

Pigeon pose is my favorite.

Thanks, guys! Cory I will definitely give them a go. Thanks for the link! If I could get my hips feeling better, along with my back, I probably would feel like a new person. :)

My official weigh-in for the week is 205.8. So that is a 1.8 pound loss this week. I was kind of hoping for a tad more, but I'll take it. lol!

I will tell you, stretching the hip flexors might help your back. A lot of lower back pain is caused by tight hip flexors. I have trouble with it sometimes and if I spend a good 20 minutes stretching out my hips, it improves a ridiculous amount. The piriformis also tends to get tight and can impact low back pain. This is another one pigeon pose is good for. My brother helped me out with this. He knows a lot about the different muscle groups and how they interact together. :]

Good job on the 1.8 lb loss this week! That's a good number.

Thanks, Cory! :)

206.8 this morning. So I went up just a tad over the weekend. That's not surprising though, since we had a cheat night on Saturday. Chef made chicken fettuccine alfredo and brownies. It was delicious!

I didn't end up going to the doctor this morning. The weather was nasty last night and the brutal cold returned, so there was no school today. Since the weather was yucky, and I didn't want to drag the kids out, I went ahead and rescheduled it for Thursday.

I'm waiting for UPS to deliver a new bookcase, and then after that I might stretch for a bit, and then get on the treadmill. Hopefully it isn't too bad.

I'm shooting for around 1250 calories today.

Jen, so glad that it made your hips feel better! I was having similar issues about two years ago. Now I stretch pretty religiously. :D

Yeah, I have the feeling I will be from now on too. lol!

Calories for the night were 1258. I stretched some more, and walked pretty slowly on the treadmill for 20 minutes. I didn't want to push it, and I think I actually felt better when I was done. So, that was nice for a change. :)

I'm watching Chef put together our new bookcase right now, and then when he's done we're watching The Blacklist! yay!

My hip flexors are actually a trouble spot for me as well, though they really only come into play doing 'core' exercises at this point.

In particular my trainer has an exercise that just causes them to burn like the sun, when the exercise is supposed to work my abs more.

You guys are so adorable. Wish Yank put up bookshelves. Must force him to assemble me some sort of furniture in manly show of love. Calories are looking good, lady! Keep it up!
