Jen's Diary

Hi Jen - I like the drawing challenge. Might I recommend army tanks fighting dinosaurs? That's about where my art levels dropped off, anyway.

And very impressive before and after pics! Keep up the good work!

Regarding the clot - have you gone to a specialist? My wife developed clots both times she was pregnant, and ended up taking ...some kind of shots. I can't remember the name, but they were wicked expensive (three cheers for insurance, at least), but they were also the only option for pregnant women. Lovenox, that's the stuff. Anyway, the point is that you might be able to monitor your levels to ensure that you're good to go on the treadmill?

Army tanks fighting dinosaurs.. I'll keep that in mind. haha!

I was on Lovenox(yes, they are ridiculously expensive) when I got out of the hospital after having my pulmonary embolism. Right now I'm on Coumadin and getting my levels checked monthly. I've been in therapeutic range for a couple months now, but it still makes me nervous. I'm supposed to stop taking the Coumadin at the end of this month though, and that makes me even more nervous.. lol! After I'm off it for a couple weeks, I'll be having some tests done and then I'll find out if I'm on it for life. Super fun stuff! :)

Send some snow my way, I'll take it off your hands!

Very impressive pictures, you look like an entirely different person. There's no denying that progress, and now it's posted here for you to reference when you're feeling down. The goal weight will happen eventually, but don't ignore all the milestones you've hit so far!

Your photos Jen_ seem lovely! The progress is obvious in the 2nd photo!

Although in the last weekend i had a lot of activities i didn't have progress. On the contrary i went a little back. Every time i change my routine program i have a regression. Making housework or going out with friends always get me out of track. The drawback is the great desire for sweet things with sugar late in the evening before going to bed. I think that if i managed to limit or extinguish this bad habit i would have a lot of progress. What are you usually eating for dinner and at what time before going to bed?

This week i will stay more focused! No distraction from sugar things!

Do NOT send snow this way! White garbage...

Sounds like you're on a similar path to my wife with the DVT, hope it works out well, I'm sure it will!

Thank you! That's one reason I like taking pics... You can look back on them and reflect on how far you've come, because you do forget sometimes. I went ahead and made an album on here though, and put the pics I posted and some face pics up there, so I won't lose them this time! Also, you can have ALL the snow. We got several new inches last night. I'll box it up and send it out. ;) :D

Thank you! Sweets are a big problem for me too. I try to allow myself something little every day. Lately I've been snacking on nuts that have a few m&m's mixed in them. For dinner it really depends on the night. We have chicken or pork with veggies a lot.. But we also have things like tacos(my favorite), fajitas, or burgers once a week. I also have two kids, so stuff like mac and cheese and hot dogs are sometimes on the menu...lol. If I know I'm having something calorie or carb heavy for dinner I plan my breakfast and lunch around it. We usually eat dinner around 6 pm and then I have a small snack around 9 pm. I'm usually in bed by 11:30 or 12:00, because I have to get up at 6:30 am to get kids off to school. :)

Thanks, and don't worry... I sent it ALL to Oaks. :D

Well my whole day is out the window pretty much. We had a SNOW DAY today. It's not even December yet! Arrrrgghh! We didn't get that much snow last night..maybe a few inches, but the blowing snow was bad. Soooo.. the kids are home. I have to try to fit work in today, along with cleaning, laundry, and keep the children from killing each other... maybe. I'm hoping it warms up a bit, so they can go outside and play for a while... because I need a break already. :willy_nilly:

Since my morning routine was off, I forgot to weigh myself.

Holy shit, Jen! Those photos are awesome! You look so thin. :D :D :D

I hope you don't have to stay on those meds forever. I sure missed a lot in my absence and I'm glad to see you're ok. :/

Wow ....you are looking great......looks like you are around 125 -130lb. Hope all is well with your mom!!!

Thanks, guys!

Sooooooo... I don't even know how to sum up my last day. Things have been insane here. Just bat shit crazy.

I was sitting here on facebook last night and saw a news update about a guy that was "armed and dangerous" leaving our county and the police were looking for him. People that had access to police scanners were commenting saying that he had killed 2 people and was on the run. They also said that he was last seen heading towards a certain road in our town. My aunt lives on that road... it's a country road out in the woods, so not a lot of people on that road. I called my mom, so she could call my aunt and tell her to lock her doors. My mom called back a while later and said that he had my aunt hostage!!!(This is some crazy shit!) That my mom had tried calling her several times and she got a busy signal, which is not normal for her. She tried one more time and a man answered the phone, and he didn't sound like my aunt's boyfriend. My mom asked if my aunt was there and the man said that "she was busy and couldn't come to the phone right now" and hung up on her. So my mom called back, and there was no answer. She called the cops and the cops ended up telling her that he DID have my aunt and was holding her against her will. Utter shock and disbelief.

Turns out this man had murdered his wife in front of their 4 children, then went nearby to another house and murdered his father-in-law. The kids got away unharmed, thank God. He ran from police and was heading to another house with the intent to kill another person and took the wrong road, and that's how he ended up at my aunt's house. He was looking for a place to hide from the cops, and thought her house was empty. Dude was an ex military contractor, dressed in full body armor and heavily armed with guns and grenades. Thankfully he treated my aunt very well(considering he was taking her hostage), did not harm her, and ended up releasing her after 7 hours! Shortly after he released her, he turned himself in.

I am still in shock over this. Murders or anything like this are very rare in our small town, so the whole town is just in an uproar. I feel so horrible for everyone involved. It's overwhelmingly sad.

Needless to say I did not get a drawing done last night. I ended up going over to my mom's to wait for the news on what was happening.

Told you.. bat shit crazy!

Today hasn't been the best food wise. My calories were ok, but my food choices could have been better. I had some pretty carb heavy foods today, so I know that's probably not going to reflect nicely on the scale. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Whoa, that story about your aunt is nuts. SO glad it turned out the way it did for her, you all must have been terrified.

Thanks, Fantastica.

Q, Oaks, and Little John... It's still surreal that it happened. Just crazy and scary. Here's his charges... two counts of homicide, two counts of 1st degree home invasion, one count of kidnapping, one count of wearing body armor during the commission of a violent crime, one count of possession of bombs with unlawful intent as well as five counts of weapons felony firearm charges. He'll be sitting in a cell for a while. He told my aunt that he wasn't going to hurt her.. that "he had no beef with her" and "he killed the people that he needed to". What a psycho!

---------------------------

Well, I guess the carbs didn't mess with the scale too much. 203.8 this morning. I'll take it!

I'm pretty tired this morning. I didn't sleep very well last night, and I definitely didn't sleep for long enough. I need to start going to bed earlier again. ugh.

Not much going on today. I have to work a little bit, pick up kids from school, figure out dinner, and then relax and a do a drawing later. I have several new ones I have to get up on here still. I'll try to do that later.

Something to be happy about.. It's Friday  ...and the sun is actually shining!

Wow, that is incredible about your aunt! It's crazy when that sort of stuff happens to you/someone you know. Normally that stuff is reserved for "other people" on the news! Glad she is ok though, I bet she was terrified.

Your pictures look astounding! Definitely can see the difference! And I would never have guessed you were in the 200lbs mark, you look relatively slim and proportioned. I'm in the 160's and no where near as slim as you :p Damn body proportions lol

203.8 again today. Third times a charm?

Calories have been good the last few days at 1300-1400.

Thank you! :) I do carry my weight very well, and am extremely thankful for it. That's one of the reasons I only want to get down to the 170's to start with(even though I'll technically still be "overweight"). I was happy with myself at that weight before, so I'm pretty sure I will be again. I was in the 150's in school, but when I got back down to 150 in my 20's, people thought that looked "sickly". *shrugs* When I get down to the 170's I'll reevaluate how much more, if any, that I want to lose. :)
