Jen's Diary: To 180 or Below...and Maintenance!

Well, look on the bright side. January is almost over so you only have like maybe three more months of this left.

Well the results are in on Chef's sleep clinic test... it's uh.. it's not good. At all. He definitely has sleep apnea. A normal person can have 5 episodes of apnea in an hour's sleep, which is where your oxygen is cut off for 10 seconds. A person with moderate apnea has around 15 apnea episodes. Severe apnea is considered to be around 30. He has 45! Apnea also wakes you up sort of, so in one hour of sleep he's basically being woken up 45 times! The sleep specialist said he's getting almost no REM sleep. Sooooo, he'll be getting a super cool cpap machine. Hopefully it works and he starts to feel better. My poor Chef. :(

Calories were a little higher than I was hoping for today, ending at 1540.

Sorry to hear about the results - I'm sure the machine is gonna help loads.

No worries about the calories just make up for it tomorrow.

Gud luck

Thanks, Mands! :)

So far so good on the calories today. Yesterday was ok as well.

I got a rather shitty night of sleep though, due to my lovely other half and his inability to sleep worth a God damn shit. (Yes, this is a vent post..haha!) Seriously. Just SERIOUSLY. Go the fuck to sleep and stay that way! Stop texting me a bunch of mumbo jumbo emotional shit in your sleep!!! Half of which makes NOOO sense. I'm so tired of it. I know it's not his fault. I know. But uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh! Just UGH. Here's my problem. I'm afraid if I stop responding, in his fucked up emotional sleepy state, he might decide to drive over here and see what's wrong. He can cook in his sleep, he can text in his sleep, but can he drive in his sleep?? I don't want to know. Who knows what else he might do.

That CPAP mask better work, if it doesn't he's getting a frying pan to the head. haha! I kid, I kid!........ maybe.

I'm just mentally exhausted I think. I know he is too. It's an almost every night thing.

I need a nap! I'm cranky. haha!

I feel your pain. My wife has had issues with insomnia off and on for years. We went through a phase where she more or less blamed me for her not sleeping. She would constantly prod me awake to inform me that I was snoring or moving around etc.. We got through that with some difficulty and now she goes to the sofa if she can't sleep and comes back to bed when she wakes for one of her bathroom trips. It's not a great system, but the sofa is comfy and only one of us suffers form her insomnia. I really hope the CPAP gives you both some relief.

Hey sweetie, sorry to hear the results :hug2:
I really hope cpap will help him. Try not to stress too much about! (i know easier said than done - i m the queen of stressing over EVERYTHING - be it small or big) Things will change for the better for you.

ps/pics from the other day are super cute

Thanks guys! I appreciate the comments. Was a bit frazzled this morning, if you couldn't tell. lol. I'm feeling better now though.

Calories are still doing ok. We had yet another snow day again today...so my schedule is all off this week. Hopefully things get better over the weekend.

I'm working all night tonight, and then crossing my fingers for a good night's sleep. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it...lol :)

Hi Jen_r. I'll wish you a good night's sleep sweetie, that's for sure! The cpap machine should make a huge difference. Friends of ours said it just about saved their marriage. I really have trouble functioning without a good 7 hours sleep so can't imagine how frazzled you must be feeling! GOOD LUCK! Cheers Cate

Sorry to hear about the test results but I look forward to hearing how he goes on the cpap works for him.

good work on eating healthy :)

Thanks, Cate, Tasha, Mands, and Justina! I'm really hoping the mask works for him too. February 11th he goes to the sleep clinic again, this time to test out which mask will work best for him. So that's good! *fingers crossed*

After I finally got to sleep last night, I slept ok. My best friend ended up calling me around midnight. She was absolutely hysterical. To the point I almost couldn't even understand her. I won't go into it, but let's just say it was BAD. I ended up being on the phone with her until 3am calming her down. I was so tired after that, that I don't even remember laying my head down.

On the diet front, eh... it hasn't been the best. I've been around 1500 the last few days. So I need to get back on track with that and the exercise. I want to, but my motivation has just been dwindling the last few days.

I did however get a TON of shoveling done today, because ....HOLY SNOW, BATMAN!... is it ever INSANE out there! By the time I get the bottom of the steps shoveled, the top of the porch needs shoveled again, just about. It's crazy! Between new snow and drifting snow, our driveway had a foot of snow in it this morning. Our plow guy plowed this morning, but you wouldn't know it..haha! It's so bad, I'm hoping for another snow day tomorrow, just so I don't have to go out in it. hahaha!

I hope everyone is doing well. Will catch up on diaries tonight or tomorrow morning.

Jen-renee I think the little sleep is catching up to you and maybe thats why you are not so focused on your food intake.

Just try and remember why you started this originally and what you want to achieve.

Have a fab evening - hope you get to sleep a bit more.

Thanks, Mands! I know lack of good sleep is really getting to me. This girl does NOT do good on very little sleep. Not at all. haha! Crossing my fingers I get a decent nights sleep this weekend. I need it.

Confession... I had a HUGE bowl of chocolate ice cream last night. HUGE.

I'm doing good today though. I'm getting back on track. I have to. I'm starting to annoy myself with my lack of motivation and face stuffing. lol!

Lack of sleep throws a hand grenade into my will power too. I hope it was yummy and remember, exceptions define the rule.

Hey no sleep sucks! i had an hour sleep last night - i had a really bad evening/night last night.
amazing how one can function on an hour sleep.
Hope you get a good night sleep tonight!

Hey guys! Guess who slept for a full 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep?!! It was awesome. I didn't wake up once. Chef said I was sleeping so soundly he checked to see if I was breathing..haha!

Today I'm working, and then I think tonight I might play the Sims. Haven't done that in a while. I think a video game night is in order. :)

Calories are good so far today.

Hopefully it wasn't your kids' bus driver. :)
