Jen's Diary: To 180 or Below...and Maintenance!

I'm legitimately 5'10.5" which I round up to 5'11" out of vanity.

I prefer prefer to say a "hair under 5'7" out of vanity. Like the 1/4 inch makes a huge difference. haha! And there's nothing wrong with 5'10.5". That's a fine height. From my experience, men care a little more about height than women do though. I know Chef was(and probably still is) weirded out a little by us pretty much being the same height. I'll be wearing flats for the rest of my life. haha!

Ending the day at 1399... yup 1399..not 1400! lol! :)

Thanks, Tasha and Mands! :)

I'm done with the my 45 minutes on the treadmill. I decided to move the incline up this morning. Boy, oh boy... I can feel it now..haha! It's a 'good' sore though, I suppose. Means I actually got up and did something ..Yay! I'm surprised I've stuck with the exercise this long actually. It's been almost 3 weeks I think. That has to be a record for me. haha!

Today my plans are to get some work done, and that's about it. Kiddos are going to their dad's tonight... so I will have a nice quiet house. :)

You're an exercise addict. You're going to wind up on Dr. Phil.

I once read a cookbook where the writer made a habit of listing oven temps as 376.4 and 349.3.

Well, what a crappy day this has turned out to be. Instead of working, I spent the afternoon dealing with frozen and/or broken pipes. Still not really sure what's wrong yet. I did a load of laundry and when the washer drained, it filled up the toilets, a couple inches of the tub, and made two big wet spots on the floor. UGH! I also almost got t-boned by woman running a yield sign. Today needs to end.

haha... I would not bet money on that one.

Well, I weighed myself this morning and I'm still at 193. Which I will consider to be a good thing, since I exercised yesterday. I have been going up at least a pound the day after I exercise... so I guess that's progress! My calories were also good yesterday... 1290.

The kids have a half day today and tomorrow for the end of the first semester. So it should be fun around here the next couple days.

Proud mommy moment of the day yesterday. A little back story first... my son is 5, and has speech apraxia. I can understand pretty much all of what he says... but someone that doesn't know him, would understand VERY little. He has other delays as well, but speech is his biggest one. Anyway, when he first started kindergarten I was worried how he would do with his reading. They have these words that are on a ring, and they have to memorize them, and be able to repeat the words back to the teacher without hesitation. Her goal for him for the entire year was to be able to do 3 of these rings... 12 words on each ring. Well he turned in and passed his second ring yesterday already...and they've only been doing these rings for a couple months. If he keeps up the pace he has been, I'm sure he'll exceed his goal and maybe do 6 or 7 rings! So proud of him!

In other news... Chef will be going to the sleep clinic tonight to get monitored. He's worried, understandably, that he will not be able to sleep hooked up to everything. Hopefully he does though, because his sleep problems are wrecking havoc. The doctor is pretty sure that he has sleep apnea. He also sleepwalks, and does other things like cook and text me, which is about the equivalent of drunk texting, so you can imagine how that goes... and then has no memory of it in the morning. Which the doctor said is normal, but it's still aggravating as hell.... because I can't really get pissed at him for something that he doesn't know he is doing. haha! Anyways.. he'll probably end up with a cpap machine. Doctor said his airway is so closed though, that he might have to have surgery to open it. I'm just crossing my fingers that he sleeps tonight. He's crossing his fingers that he sleeps tonight...and also doesn't do anything weird that involves nakedness. hahaha!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Hey sweetie! Your kid is doing really well! yay! you truly can be proud of him!

Hope all goes well with the "chef" in the sleeping clinic!

Thanks, Justina! :)

I was bad tonight. We ended up going out for dinner and I had a turkey BLT(minus the T ...I hate tomatoes..lol) and fries., and a very large cookie. Not sure on the calories, but it was waaaaaay more than I had left for today, that's for sure. Oh well, tomorrow is a new day!

Ah the french fry: the Devil's own favorite recipe. I suppose turning a BLT into a BLFFC isn't necessarily the best way to stay under calories. But as you say, tomorrow is another day.

Before you consider doing the cookie thing again, look what consuming too many cookies over the years has done to .

haha! That poor cookie monster.

Well I am staying at Chef's apt this weekend. So I will probably be absent for the next couple days. Hopefully I can stick to my calories staying over there. Hope everyone has a great weekend! :)

Thanks, guys! The weekend was ok. I could of done better diet wise though. I let some emotional stuff get the best of me, and ended up stuffing it down with ice cream. I'm back on track starting right now though. :)

Yeah, I normally have ice cream whenever I want, as long as it fits into my calories. Like you said, it's all portion controlled. I measure out a serving and that's all I have. Last night was definitely NOT portion controlled though. haha! Quite the opposite. Oh well... I'm back on track now, and that's all that matters. :)

I just realized earlier that this summer will be the first summer in a very long time that I'll probably feel comfortable wearing shorts in PUBLIC. That gave me a little boost in my motivation. That will be an amazing feeling. Makes me want to work even harder now, so that I will for sure will be ready for shorts by summer. Will definitely have to work on my ghostly pale legs though. They haven't seen the light of day in like 10 years. I might blind someone with them. haha!

Not sure there's a weight in existence where this applies to me.

Thats my aim for our summer in May to be able to get into a pair of shorts - haven't been in one in years. Luckily Cyprus has such HOT HOT summers that a tan will be no problem.

As you say that pair of shorts is extra motivation!

Thanks guys! :)

Well I am done with my exercise for the day. I was just about to step on the treadmill, when our plow guy showed up. So after cleaning my car off, and spending a good 15 minutes shoveling the porch and pathway...I got some exercise there. We got a good 6-8 inches of snow last night, and then it rained this morning, which created a nice layer of ice on top of everything. It was lovely. ugh! I also did 30 minutes on the treadmill.

Here's some pics from this morning...snow day again today.

You can tell from the first pic that your kiddos are really upset about missing school. After a white Christmas, it is now humid and in the 70s here. I want winter!
