Jen's Diary: To 180 or Below...and Maintenance!

Was still at 194.0 this morning. I have a cheat night planned for later. We're playing games tonight, so I'll probably have a few drinks. Plus Chef is making dinner tonight. I'm not sure what yet, but I'm sure it will be delicious and fattening. Mmmmm.. :D

Sounds like you have a great night planned!!
I m sure you make up for the yummy meal with some excercize later!
Have a nice weekend!

Remind me not to drink ever again. I do not feel the best this morning. Plus after I had a few last night, my diet went straight out the window. ugh! So yeah, I'm sure it's not going to be a good week on the scale this week. I did get my exercise in yesterday though, so that's at least something good. I also kicked ass at dominoes! yeeeeeeah! :)

Also wanted to add that my exercise days are going to be Mon, Tues, Thurs, Friday, and maybe Saturday or Sunday this week. We'll see how I feel. The aches and pains are finally starting to get better. Progress!

Lol...hahaha...havent we all been there...i will not drink ever again! Oh well - i am glad you had a great night!

Its ok to fall off the wagon, just have to pick yourself up again & continue. I know you will do just that! :)

Hi Jen R, Just read your new diary & found it really entertaining & witty. I like your sense of humour! Life is such a juggling act, especially with young children & living with {a}chef. You seem to be achieving a good balance with your eating & exercise. What sort of writing do you do? I have just been talking to our younger son, who is in Canada, on Skype & I still find it hard to imagine shovelling snow to get anywhere. He raves about how wonderful it is, but I remain totally unconvinced! Sending you some of our Aussie warmth to melt your snow, cheers, Cate

Thanks, Justina! I am doing just that. I'm back on track today, and feeling pretty good. :)

Thanks, Cate! Kids and working from home can definitely be a juggling act, to say the least. The writing I do is for the of Ask.com. It's basically just researching and answering questions that people have asked. History, science, beauty, entertainment... it's different every day. It's all boring, but it helps pay the bills, so I can't complain too much. As far as the snow goes, your son will never convince me it's wonderful either..haha! I'm with you on that one, for sure! :) Thanks for stopping by!

My calories were good today. Around 1300. I'm not sure of the exact number, and I'm too tired to get my phone... so it shall remain a mystery for now. I'm finishing up some work and then heading off to bed. I plan on doing the treadmill after I drop the kids off at school tomorrow. I MIGHT weigh myself in the morning to see what damage I did yesterday, but I don't know. haha! I might not. I'm kind of scared. Did I mention I ate a whole bag of Funyons?! hahaha! :blush5:

Ok.... My morning did not go exactly as planned. It started by having to make like 5 trips out to my car with steaming glasses of hot water to melt the ice off my car so I could get the doors open. That was super fun. Then I did the treadmill. That was good. After that I was planning on working, but that didn't happen. I ended up taking my mom's cat to the vet. He's 15 years old, and hasn't been getting around the best. This morning though, he was limping really bad, taking breaks to just walk across a room, and was even laying down to eat. So I took him up there, got him an x-ray, and he has a torn ACL!?! The first one they'd ever seen on a cat. I was like..."how in the HELL did you tear your ACL, cat, you don't do anything but lay there"...hahaha! He's all hopped up on pain meds now though. Poor baby kitty. Yes, that's the cat's name..."baby kitty". Mom was REAL creative when she named him.

Hey you, well done on the treadmill!! :)
Wow sure it is cold in Michigan! (My husband is from there). Btw i had a friend back in the UK - she did the same thing - put hot water on the car - she ended up breaking her windshield! Be careful.
I hope baby kitty gets well soon. It a super cute name - i think - lol.
Have a great day girl!!!

Thanks, Justina! :) Yeah, I wouldn't pour it on the windows. I was pouring it on the door handles. They were completely froze over. Winter is sooooo much fun! haha!

Also wanted to add that I'm good on my calories so far today! :) I also didn't weigh myself this morning. With all the commotion this morning I forgot, can't say I'm really sad about that either. I didn't want to see that number anyway. lol.

Sounds like your mom's cat has been moonlighting as a halfback for the Lions.

As for the frozen car, I remember having an older car that had the vinyl front seats. One brutally cold winter morning in Chicago, I sat down in the car and the vinyl cracked because it was frozen. That doesn't seem to happen where I'm at now.

If you have access to a plug, you could try using a blow drier on the car instead of water. Or spend the summer building a garage. :D

I'm whooped and my day is not even close to being over. So far I've worked a little, went to Rite Aid, went back to the vet's office to pick up medicine(they forgot to give me some), went and picked up the kids, went to the grocery store, took the garbage out, started dishes, started laundry, and I have to start dinner in a minute. Then I get to work all night. I'll be sleeping good tonight.

The only garages I build are made out of Legos. lol!

Your day sounds exhausting now I am tired too...thanks!

Looks like you are doing great on the calories...I totally understand about not wanting to log them some days...but that is what keeps us honest...yuck!! haha...and double yuck on those Funyons... :) My hubby and boys eat them too...I am a sweet tooth girl myself...give me a donut or a snickers bar any day.

Another good day today. I'm ending the day at 1333 calories. Plus I DID exercise today. It seems like such a long time ago now, but it was still today. lol!

I usually go for the sweets too. Chocolate and ice cream are my weaknesses. Once in a while though, I get a craving for chips or salty stuff, like Funyons! mmmm!

Good morning! :)

I'm done with the treadmill. I about choked to death on it this morning. The heat was up higher than I thought, so I was roasting, and then I've been smelling smoke for a good week. My sinuses are acting up from all the weather changes. The smoke smell is sometimes so bad my eyes actually water and I start coughing.... even though there's not actually any smoke. I'm going to try using my nasal mist stuff again today. If that doesn't work, I might have to break down and get a neti pot. I'm sure I'll manage to drown myself somehow.lol!

I had a bit of proud mama moment this morning. Our school is starting a new policy, that we can't walk the kids down to their classrooms anymore. My daughter is in 3rd grade, and already goes down to her class by herself, so it's not a change for her. My son however, is in Kindergarten, and I always walk him to his locker in the morning and help him put his stuff away. He did it all by himself this morning though. I'm betting like half of his stuff never made it to his locker.... but he did it all by himself. lol! I'm proud of my little man, but a little sad at the same time. He's growing up!

I can sympathize with you on the smoke, with all of the fires around it makes cardio a bit difficult.

Thanks, guys! The smoke isn't really there. My sinuses are dry, and when that happens I "smell" cigarette smoke. Even though there is no smoke, and no one in the house smokes. It's quite annoying. OR, maybe I'm just so hot, I'm on fire?!?! hahaha! Nah! it's just my pesky sinuses. :p Using my mist stuff helped today...yay!
