Jen's Diary: To 180 or Below...and Maintenance!

Thanks guys! :)

Ok, so today is day three of cutting back on the carbs. So far I've just cut out the bread/cakey type stuff, because that's my biggest problem area. I would kill for a bagel with cream cheese right now. Like if someone dangled one in my face, they might draw back a bloody stump. haha! Ahhh...they are so carbalicious! :drool5: I plan on cutting back on the carbs until at least Monday though. I'm hoping it will give me a nice little boost on the scale. It usually does. I might lose my sanity in the process, but that's ok. I'm hoping my sanity weighs at least a few pounds. haha!

Hey Jen!

I know what you mean I am also trying to keep away from carbs I miss my morning egg sandwich, You can do it!!!

Cutting carbs is soo effective. When I stopped the juice fast - that was the last group I added back. i didn not put any weight back on!!! Good luck!!

Great job, Jen! Yep, carbs are cut waaaay back in my world. I hope to add some back in when I've dropped another 80 pounds, but until then, they're just not worth the slowdown they cause in my weight loss objectives... although I occasionally stray a little in this department.

Thanks, guys! :)

So, I was doing good until yesterday. I ended up going out with one of my best friends last night, had a few drinks, and ate some things I probably shouldn't of eaten. Sigh. :( I was down to 185 this morning though. I'm going to be good the rest of the weekend, and weigh myself again on Monday. I'm hoping to see 184 by then. :)

My main challenge for the weekend: Our town festival is this weekend, so the carnival is in town... with delicious fattening food.... elephant ears(fried dough with cinnamon and sugar on it), caramel apples, cotton candy, french fries...... it's everywhere!! Chef and I took the kids to the parade and carnival yesterday. I successfully avoided all the food, and got a lot of walking in too. So that was good.

Found out I will be moving in about a month, for sure. Must. Start. Packing. haha!

Also talked to Chef about starting to go for walks at night, now that it's warming up outside. He also mentioned going to the gym. Now that he's getting sleep, and starting to feel better, he wants to start getting back on track too. So, yay! That will help me out a lot.

Nice work on 185. It will make things a lot easier with Chef on board. That's awesome that he (and consequently) you are sleeping better now.

Only seeing the one fruit and no vegetables in there. I suppose 'cotton' counts as a vegetable.

Congrats on it getting warmer. During the day it must be getting up into the high 30s or low 40s by now, right?

Seriously, good job on getting down to a sparkling 185. Just five measly pounds from your goal, which you're free to re-adjust at any time. :)

Hey well done on not eating out at the carnival - could be tough!! I can't believe how close you are to your goal!! Awesomeness.
Evening walks sound great! I have really gotten into it since the weather started to improve.

Thanks, Quercus! Yes, I am very happy he's getting back on the wagon. And yes, sleep is aaaawesome!

Thank you! It was 72 here today, and beautiful! :D My goal has always been at least 180. I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing, and if I get below that ...so be it. As long as I stay at 180 or below I'll be happy. I'll never be super skinny either... I prefer my curves. ;)

Thank you! Resisting the carnival food was HARD, but I did it! Zero carnival food this year! And I can't wait to start the walks, hopefully it's soon! :)

Thanks, Mystic! :)

I'm still at 185 though. I've been doing really good, so I think the likely culprit is my TOM. I almost always end up going up a couple of pounds, and it's due to arrive any day now. After I realized this, I was like...yeah, I'm not making 184. It's not happening. haha! My goals for this week are to stay on track calorie wise, NOT eat 5 lbs of chocolate, and exercise at least 3 times.

I hope everyone has a great week! :)

ToM is a terrible culprit! lol. That's why I had my juice fast just before - I did not put any weight on this time - but I didn't lose any either.
I like your chocolate goal for the week! Can you have 4lbs ? LOL

Hey Gen
elephant ears(fried dough with cinnamon and sugar on it), we have those here too but they are called beaver tails! Love em but thankfully the only place who makes em is an hour + drive :) Only get them after skating the canal for hours, wich I haven't done in years! Great job on staying away from the Carnival foods! It will be great to have Chef involve with the walks, I wish my hubby would, instead he buys candy and chips and eat em in my face!!! Great job and gl this week, staying on track with TOM not easy!

Catching up on some diaries today. Hows the low carbs going? I have been almost carb free for 4 months now. Only have diet crackers and thats it!!

Your weight loss has been great thus far. Just keep at it and now with Chef onboard it should go a bit quicker. Holding thumbs!

Yes, 4 lbs is perfectly acceptable. haha! I haven't had any so far though. So, go me! :)

Beaver tails..haha! I knew there were several different names for them, that's a good one. I'm doing my best to stay on track, thanks! :)

The low carb thing is not going at all.. not at ALL. haha! Once the pms kicked in, that kind of went out the window. I haven't been TOO bad, but I've definitely been eating them. lol! I've managed to stay at 185 though... I'm hoping I can get through this TOM without putting any weight on. So far so good! :)

Today didn't start exactly as I had planned. I took the kids to school, came home, and immediately got a migraine aura, which is a visual disturbance. It looks like a sparkly C-shaped object in my vision that gets bigger and bigger until it goes away... which is usually about 20-30 minutes. Luckily for me, I get the aura WITHOUT the actual migraine headache. I usually just lay down and close my eyes until it goes away. I get a little nauseated after, but that's it. I get them about once a week, which is a kind of pain, but it's better than getting a regular migraine. Those are definitely no fun..lol!

After that was over, I did a little cleaning, and then loaded my car up with boxes that were ready to donate. Dropped them off, and then went to the store and got more boxes to fill. Ahh, moving is soooo much fun! lol! In a little bit here I get to run to the bank, and then make out bills, which is also so much fun! Maybe I'll sit out on the porch to do it, at least I can enjoy the sunshine while I'm watching my money disappear. :p It is beautiful out though! The sun is shining, the grass really popped up overnight, so it looks all green and nice. Love it!

My calories are on track! Gonna go get some lunch, and enjoy my day off from work! Will hopefully catch up on diaries tonight. The kids are going with their dad, so I get a night of peace and quiet. :)
