Jen's Diary: To 180 or Below...and Maintenance!

Haha! Thanks, Mands! :)

I'm still at 195 this morning. I'm doing good so far today too, so I'm happy about that. The children have another snow day today. Although it's more of an "ice" day actually. Today was supposed to be their first day back after a four day weekend. :willy_nilly: Yeeeeeah.....this weather needs to cooperate...haha!

I've also been sneezing my head off since yesterday. Not sure what's up with that. It's WAY too early for my allergies, and I don't feel sick. So, I don't know.

Oh, and yesterday on my extremely horrible bad day I tried two of the Lays finalist chip flavors...The Sriracha ones, and the Chicken and Waffle ones. Duuuuuuuude... the Chicken and Waffle ones are soooooo horrible. Just horrible. Chef compared them to eating Mcdonald's hotcakes after licking a cat's butt.... and I'd say that's probably pretty accurate. In fact, that might taste better. hahaha! If all chips tasted like those, I would never eat chips again. ever. haha!

Ok, I'm off to work... or at least try. lol

I am ending the day at 1225 calories. That's figuring in a 100 calorie snack for later. I'm happy with how I ate today. I'm not so happy about the 10 inches of snow we might get tonight, or the shoveling I will be doing in the morning. Spring needs to hurry up! I've been trying to remind myself today that I need to stay on track so I can wear shorts this summer. Just to be cool, comfortable, and not dying in clothes that cover everything, will be so nice. I'm really looking forward to that. :)

To get my motivation back I've also been trying to remind myself today of some of the things that have already changed for the better after losing almost 100 lbs.... some are big, some are small.....

-Going from my largest, a size 26, to a size 14.
-Being able to sit in a movie theater seat, or any seat with arms for that matter, and not feel like I'm busting out of it like a can of biscuits.
-Going down one and a half ring sizes, and a half a shoe size! (The bra size I'm not too thrilled about...haha!)
-Being able to do all that dreaded shoveling I keep talking about... WITHOUT feeling like I'm actually near death. lol!
-Actually being able to wrap a normal size bath towel around myself after getting out of the shower. I actually discovered this one the other day. I haven't actually tried to do that in forever. It's a small thing...but I was quite pleased with this little discovery. lol!
-Being able to play with my kids, and not get tired after 5-10 minutes.
-Not cringing at my reflection in a passing window or mirror.
-Feeling better about myself during sexy times. ;)
-Compliments...yeeeah, they feel good.
-Wearing Chef's hoodies and having them actually be big on me.
-Painting my toenails is a lot easier.
-Having people, including my kids, be able to hug me, and actually wrap their arms around me.

:)

100 lbs?! Congrats! Those are a lot of positives and I've found that it's often the little things (like the bath towel) than can be the most striking. They're things that everyone else takes for granted but has always jabbed you just a little bit. Keep it up. :D

100lbs!! Thats freakin awesome!! All the items you have listed I can totally relate to. I've been feeling some of those just with my 10kg (22lbs) loss. Still have 30kg to go. Tx for doing this list as it is a reminder to me why I'm doing this. And well done to you on your journey so far!

Well I was 194.4 this morning. So the scale is moving in the right direction. My calories are good so far today. I have a small snack planned for later, and that should put me right around 1300 for the day.

The kids are with their dad for the night, so I'm relaxing. It is very much needed. They had another snow day AGAIN today. At this rate they will be in school until July! lol!

I couldn't agree more, the little things are the best. Thanks! :)

You're welcome! Glad I could help... and thank you! :)

I am 193.2 this morning... and the kids finally had school! yay! It's a good day. :)

You are doing great!
We had a snowy day too boo-hooo!!! But it's all gone now!!
I can't wait for the spring!

Thanks, Justina! I wish ours was all gone. There's still about 3 feet of snow on the ground though. I agree, spring needs to hurry up..lol.

This is an AWESOME list! Everyone of us who hasn't done this should do it after every significant weight loss mini goal... because even if we still have a LONG way to go, there are already improvements to be enjoyed. Great job in your losses so far!

When is your Spring month? We are now in Spring and it's gorgeous with all the flowers. May summer starts.

Thanks! I agree that it's a great thing for everyone to do. It makes you really appreciate all the little changes. :)

We get a LOT of snow here, so we usually don't get rid of it until around April. Early May is when it really starts to be Spring and everything starts blooming. So we have a few more months, unless we get an early Spring, which I'm hoping for. lol!

There you go. Well done.

As for the weather: cheer up, the season of mosquitoes the size of pelicans will be there before you know it.

Thanks...and yeah, I'm looking forward to it! lol!

Hey loving your list too! The kind of thing you want to print & put it on the fridge/pantry/cookie jar LOL :p

Well, I was 192.2 this morning.... so maaaaybe I'll see 191 again by tomorrow? I'm not holding my breath, but it would be nice to be back to my pre-binge weekend weight. lol!

edit* Forgot to add my calories from last night were 1344, and tonight I'm ending at 1260.

That's a great list Jen! Think there's a lot of things that people are "ideal" weights take for advantage as they've never been at the higher weight to experience it.

Keep up the great work and you'll be at your goal in no time!

Steve

192.0 this morning....sooooooo close! That's a 3 lb loss for this week. I wish they weren't pounds that I had already lost, but I'm still super happy about it. I'm determined to be eat good this weekend, so I can see 191 again by the beginning of the week...and maybe the 180's by next weekend! So excited for that! :)

Thanks, Steve!! I know there's many things that I'm already taking for granted again...and that's why I did the list. I think it's good to remind yourself of where you have been, and how far you have come....so you do not ever go back. :)

Nice rebound. You're rebounding like Dennis Rodman. Hopefully you're not dressing like him.

Oh my, there's me showing my age. Can't believe it's been 13 years since he retired... :(

Man, I hate the feeling of trying to lose pounds I've already lost once. Sounds like you're not too far in the hole though!

Thanks, guys! I did pretty good yesterday. We ended up having chicken fajitas for dinner, and I had a scoop of sherbet for dessert. I didn't count calories, since it was Saturday, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't too bad. It wasn't NEARLY as bad as a normal Saturday, that's for sure. So, I'm happy about it. Today is going good as well. I feel like I'm retaining water though, my hands are a little puffy. Hopefully it goes down by tomorrow.

So yesterday, I went to leave the house to go to the store, and the screen door would NOT open. There was a huge mound of ice on the other side of it. I pounded on it, and pounded on it, and NOTHING. So I had to go out our back door, climb through snow(that was up past my knees) all the way around the house, and pound the ice away from the door. Fun times. Super fun! Sigh.... I'm so done with winter. haha!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! :)

Oh wow...about the screen door. Well look on the bright side - you burnt some calories pounding on it & going around the house etc. :)

YUMYUM fajitas - i love fajitas!! One of my absolute favorite. It's not too bad calorie-wise - you did great for a Saturday!
