Jen's Diary of Random Stuff.... Take Two!!

AOne of the things that has been causing me a TREMENDOUS amount of stress was the possibility of losing my contract with the company that I work for. When you hire in your contract is for 6 months, and at the end of the 6 months they have the option of renewing your contract or not. My contract is up on May 30th. I've been obsessively checking my email for like a week now... watching and waiting for the dreaded email. I just got it! And it says I'm being RENEWED! It will be extended for another 6 months!! I am BEYOND relieved! I was so worried about doing this job correctly when I first got it. Apparently I'm doing something right..LOL! :D :hurray:

Also, my calories are looking pretty good for the day...as long as I don't go crazy with dinner.
Wow Jen, way to control yourself when feeling down. I know when I feel that way I end up regretting double the amount of calories or more! Sorry your feeling all stressy and such, that's a bummer. Try to stay positive as much as you can! Congrats btw on the 22 lbs lost so far, that's really awesome! :)
Thanks, Munch! I'm usually regretting double that amount too. Yesterday was an off day for me...LOL! I felt bad afterwards, but I was definitely proud of myself for not going completely crazy..lol. Thanks for stopping by my journal. I'll be sure to check yours out soon! :)
Hey Jen

I keep a bag of carrotts at work right now that way if i do get all stressed and eat I only have carrotts on me and I don`t keep any money on me so I can`t go and buy what i am really craving!
Working from home would not be good for me lol!  Yesterday is done....no point in dwelling right!  Hope everything is going better for you! You have gone a long way since you started on here, you know you can do it!
Thanks, Vero!!! Yes, working from home and dieting does put forth some unique challenges. Having a full kitchen at my disposal is not the best thing sometimes...lol. You're right though... no point in dwelling on it. Today is a new day, and at the moment... It's a pretty good one. :)

AThis week hasn't been one of my better ones. I haven't been going crazy nuts with the calories or anything, around 1400 ...instead of 1250-1300. Which isn't bad, considering how my week has gone...lol. I'm going to really try to keep it around 1300 through the weekend though. Right now my weight is the same, but I'm hoping to go down a pound by Monday. *fingers crossed*

I have so much I want to get done this weekend. Most of it is cleaning related. Yuck!! I need a maid to go with my Personal Chef!! lol! ;)

Speaking of Chef, he works ALL weekend. That will leave me with plenty of time to get things done. Whether I actually do it or not, is another story. I'm such a procrastinator!

Hope everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend! :patriot:
Glad your contract got renewed! Congrats.....now you can focus more on loosing the weight!!!!

Thanks! That's the plan! :)

Oh I know exactly how that goes. My fiance will go to work and I'll plan to clean and get all my housework done and I end up wasting it all laying on the couch or something dumb! haha! Not this weekend! Saturday after he goes to work I plan on cleaning the house and exercising my tail off! Then Sunday we're going to relax all day with family, probably grill out and listen to the Indy 500.

Good job on not going too much over this week!

AWeigh-In day! I'm down 1 more pound. That brings my total to 23 pounds lost. I'm really going to work my tail off this next week, because I'd really like to hit the 25 pound mark.

I had a pretty good weekend. Chef had to work, but after he got off work we watched movies and hung out, so that was nice. Today my kids are home from school since it's Memorial Day. So far it's not too crazy in here, but I'm sure it will be eventually. There's 2 more weeks of school, and then they'll be home ALL DAY. That's going to be insane..lol I am looking forward to sleeping in though! :)

Speaking of sleep, I think I'm going to go lay back down for a bit. I took Benedryl last night to help me get to sleep, and that always leaves me REALLY groggy in the morning. I've had a really big problem with intense itching, mostly on my stomach, for about a month and a half. That was what was keeping me up last night. I don't know if it's from the weight loss, but that's what I'm guessing. I haven't switched soaps or anything, so I'm sure it's not that, and no amount of lotion helps. I did some googling and it seems to be a pretty common problem. It's incredibly annoying though!

Ok... I'm off for a quick nap. I hope everyone is doing well! :)

Thanks, Munch! And yeah, I didn't really accomplish much of the organizing that I wanted to do, but I did get some cleaning done. So it wasn't a total loss..lol. :)

haha, power to you, Jen! Potato salad.. ugh. I'm weird, I don't like potatos at all! Can't eat any form of them.. fries, chips, mash, etc.. no deal for me! I guess that's a blessing in disguise, really, because while I can't eat them, I TOTALLY appreciate their smell! Makes my stomach rumble even though the taste makes me gag, lol!

Also, congrats on the extra 1lb lost! 23lbs lost already is crazy! Power to the Jen!

Great job on the 23 lbs lost Jen! WOOHOO! I think it's always a success if you have something in the fridge you want to completely devour and you control yourself enough to eat only a little bit of it, so great job. :)

Inspirational stuff Jen. Loving your positive view on losing weight and getting on with your life at the same time.

Thanks again for the welcome to the forum. Everyone seems so friendly on here. Great to see others battling away.

AHaving a great food day! Should be at 1300 calories when all is said and done. :)

Thank you! Yes, I consider it a success as well. I've noticed in the last month or so I've developed a lot more self control. I still have cravings ( especially around my TOM), but I've gotten a LOT better at just having a few bites, instead of a ridiculous amount. It's kind of embarrassing to admit, but I definitely would of sat down with a spoon and devoured that entire bowl of potato salad before....or at least given it my best shot..LOL. So glad I'm not doing that anymore!

I'm the opposite of Sarah - I loooooove potatoes! Mmmm.

Fries, chips, mashed, etc etc.. The smell makes me ravenous sometimes, but good on ya for resisting the salad!

Keep up the great work! It's always uplifting for me to see my friends doing so well! :)

Yeah so impressed by how cool everyone is. That's brilliant that you found your boyfriend here! Proper modern romance!!

messed up a bit tonight but have already found it helps not to just give up as I normally do but instead just come on here and jot down a few ramblings.

deffo with you on the potatoes - one of my biggest enemies!! I love them too and a good potato salad rocks!

ATGIF! I love and miss my kids to death when they are gone, but it's time to send the kiddies off with their Dad and relax! I definitely need it! It has been one crazy week!

I'm not really sure what we're doing this weekend, probably just hanging out around the house. It's supposed to be rainy all weekend I think....and we're both short on money....so yeah. Staying in it is! lol! We'll probably just watch movies or something. Our only problem with hanging out around the house though, is we end up wanting to loaf around and eat like piggies. Must resist doing that!

That's good that you came here. I do that a lot if I'm wanting to really snack or am feeling discouraged. I come here and post, or read diaries. Whatever helps! And yes, potatoes rule! :D

AWell the 25 pound mark has eluded me this week. I am down 1 pound though, so I'm happy about that! Maybe next week. :)

This week is the last week of school for my kids. After Thursday it will be utter chaos around here. Summer is always hard for me. Trying to balance doing things with the kids, working from home, and all the other stuff I have to do around here is slightly stressful. I need to get a better schedule worked out, so I can get things done, mostly work.

I also need to start sorting stuff to go into storage. Chef will be moving in towards the end of next month, and I need to make room for some of his stuff. Hopefully by spring next year we'll have enough money saved to look into getting a bigger place. All of us living in this tiny house is going to SUPER FUN! About as much fun as having your eyeball scraped with a fork...lol! I definitely need to get that schedule worked out.... more work time means more money.....and more money means we are out of here sooner! Maybe even with a little bit of our sanity left intact! haha! :p

I hope everyone has a great week! :)

Ah, no worries Jen, I know you'll hit that 25 lb mark very soon! I know exactly what you mean about trying to make room for someone moving in. We just moved my fiances stuff in this weekend. I live in a studio apartment with a loft, so more room than your typical studio apartment, but it's still so tiny! I don't even have closets! This week he's bouncing from his old roomates house to his parents until we get married this weekend. But he has so much stuff! It's crazy. I'm pretty sure he has 4 times the amount of clothes that I do. Anyways, I'm blabbing. Just wanted to let you know, I feel your pain!

If you don't mind me asking, who do you work for and what do you do? I saw you mention your contract was renewed for 6 months, do you think you will every get a lengthier contract?
