Jay Can Do It! - Weight Loss Diary

Day 3 finished with my all time lowest calorie intake. Strange because I feel like I've eaten a truckload.

Good night everyone!

AWelcome Jay...I think you are doing great....you are having more good moments than bad ones...so thats what counts in the long run....and now you know that you are the type that needs fuel all day long...I personally can go on a bout 575 during the day and have a large meal at dinner...its suits me better....but we are all different and it works for me so far.

I see you are logging your calorie burn..how are you monitoring it? A heart rate monitor, online calculator...body bugg?? Just curious because I use/used all three..would like to hear your input.

Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately I only use an online calculator. I input my weight, my height, my age, my gender, and the type of exercise I do. I WISH I had the resources to purchase walkers and real-time calorie counters.

For now, all I can do is do with what I have. =)

AJay, I do it all manually myself too ^^. I've lost almost 20lbs without spending a dime. Of course now I go to a gym so that costs me 50 a month.

A lot of people spend tons of money on gadgets to lose weight. They DO help, but if you don't mind the extra work it's just as rewarding doing it by counting and using the internet :).

You're doing great, keep it up ;).

Sorry for not keeping track of my calories! Today was actually my spike day - (a spike in calories to prevent the diet plateau from happening). The reason why is because on Thursday my family goes out to eat, and we usually eat things without a calorie label on them, so it's very hard for me to keep track. I figured, hey, what a better calorie spike day than this?

But, just incase, I've compiled a very rough guess as to what I filled my body with today.

Despite the Diet Spike, I still managed to stay under my maintenance Calorie amount by 175 calories. Not bad, although I wish I hadn't eaten so much Saturated Fat from that Burger King meal.

Apart from that, Day Four of the diet and exercise is finished. I am still SO sick (worse than yesterday!). I can't breathe through my nose so everything I eat tastes like cardboard. For exercise, I managed to walk uphill for 10 minutes before feeling extremely dizzy. Hopefully tomorrow will be much better x).

Good night everyone!

Day 5 has started! I'm still a bit sick, but it wasn't as bad as yesterday. Still, I have a stuffy nose, my body hurts, and I'm a bit dizzy. Though, I'm thinking the majority of this sickness will be gone by tomorrow.

As for the diet, I'm getting used to it. And my cardio and muscle workouts are becoming less and less painful. :D

Sorry about the past couple of days! My family is in the middle of a Four day church event so I'm always on the road (and no internet connection). I have everything recorded in a notebook, so I'm just going to update this journal every morning. Tomorrow is the last day so after that I'll have my regular schedule back.

Thankfully, I'm planning to go for a walk in a few minutes. I'll be able to squeeze in some exercises in between this hectic schedule.

I just finished walking for 30 minutes uphill. It was so tiring, especially since the trail was steep and infested with rocks and pine cones. My legs are sore, but I feel great!

I was at my church earlier today and I found myself munching on random things on the table (a spoon of this, a bite of that, a scoop of those). To stop myself, I LITERALLY slapped my face and told myself to stop it. UNFORTUNATELY there were people around me so they stared at me like o_O.

...I'm too hard on myself.

AYou should have started to slap random people now that would have be funny!!!

Maybe you should do the old rubber band trick around the wrist for next time you know you snap it when your bad....lol.....a little less public.

Haha yes, I'll go slap a random nun now..

The rubber band trick does seem a bit more discreet though, haha!

9:00AM

Alright, today is weigh day! At about the same time last week I weighed myself and I was 221 pounds. Now I am...

...

217 pounds!

I know the majority of the weight loss is probably weight fluctuations, but I can tell you now that I haven't been 217 since Junior year of high school. I'm so happy for that 1-2 pounds of weight loss! xD.

12:32PM

Going to go for a nice walk in a few minutes to the Soos Creek Trail by my house. It's a sunny day and not too hot, either! I hope to get a little jogging in, but I don't know. We'll see =)

2:05PM

I just finished my walk! I managed to run for 5 minutes before stopping, and I continued a 30 minute uphill walk, same as yesterday. I got home and I was furiously hungry, and I ended up eating 500 Calories for Lunch. Eep. Oh well.

My mom brought home some party food that consists of Cake, Pie, Spaghetti, Pizza, and Rice.

My mouth is watering and I barricaded my bedroom door.

Thank you! =)

I had an awesome breakfast this morning. I made a sandwich that consisted of this nutty, whole wheat organic bread with tomato slices, cheese, and pan-cooked chicken breast (Zero calorie pan spray). It was really good! I wish I had a picture to show you guys, I was quite happy with myself. Hah

I think I'm just going to write down the time I ate the food, and what it was. I'm having a hard time figuring out whether something is snack, lunch, dinner, breakfast, or whatever. This way I'll be more accurate.

I also drastically changed the layout of my daily posts. I think it's more accurate now and organized. What do you all think?

Hey Jay! Congrats on dropping those pounds last week. Don't be too hard on yourself if you feel like a meal was more calories than you wanted it to be...it'll happen in life, and you just need to balance the rest of your day around that. You are doing great, so keep that up!
