Edit: fixed the pics links finally!

I'm Jae, i'm 25 and i'm from Indiana. Been married almost 6 years, and I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter. I'm a stay at home mom.

I currently weigh in at 235lbs. I'm 5'6" and have always leaned more towards the 'chunky' side of the scale, even at my lowest weight of 160. Half of my family is really big and short and the other half is really thin and tall. I got the short and fat genes.

I was doing good at holding 160lbs til I got married then I shot up to 200lbs, got pregnant, went up to 240.
After I had the baby I breastfed and craved healthier things and dropped down to 180. Unfortunately, I didnt try to hold on to the loss and I have since gone up to 230!
My problem isnt so much overeating, I only eat about once or twice a day which is bad. And being stay at home, I dont move around much.

My clothing size is 18/20 depending on the maker.

160lbs at age 17

180lbs at age 19

200lbs at age 20

230lbs at age 25

And my face lol

I'd like my weight to be in the 150 to 160 range.

I've had a membership to the YMCA for the past two years, and havent taken advantage of it, which is terrible on my part.
I plan on using some of the diet and nutrition plans the YMCA offers. They're inexpensive and will probably help me out a whole lot. I know close to nothing about exercising and weightloss. Other than the obvious stuff.

My husband is also about 50lbs overweight. We can never seem to get on the weightloss page at the same time and cant seem to help eachother out.

But i'm sooo damn tired of being fat. I'll have such a great figure if I can just shed the pounds. Although losing 80 to 90lbs seems like a crazy goal.

If I can think of anything else I will add it here.

Update: Goal is now to lose 75lbs

I also forgot to mention that a big part of wanting to lose weight is because I want to have another baby. At my current weight I dont want to risk having complications.

Well right now i'm cutting out some of my bad foods and trying portion control.
We havent bought any caffeinated drinks in 3 weeks. We only drink skim milk, water, and lite v8fusion. I try to drink 2 or 3 bottle of 32oz water a day.

I wont know my workout plan til I have my consultation with my Wellness coach tomorrow. They'll give me a complete rundown of how I should start exercising, what I need to do, and they will help me progress. So far i've just been doing some treadmill/stair climber (the other machines confuse and scare me ha)

I'm going to start going to the Y-weight meetings also. Might help to keep me motivated and have a group of people trying to do the same thing.

There are also some workout classes i'll be checking out. I've done a few before and liked them, its just that they're all done in rooms with mirrors and I hate that. haha I gotta get over my fear of my own reflection.

One of my reasons for wanting to lose weight is to have another baby too. I'm 30, and I feel like my time is running out..lol! Both of my pregnancies before, I was overweight and it was horribly uncomfortable..not doing that again...lol! Well anyways...good luck and hope to see you around the forum!

Thank you everyone!

I met with a trainer today and she got me a schedule and list for when I workout. I know which weight machines to use, how to use them, how many reps and what weights. Its awesome. I actually have structure now and not just a dizzy sort of confusion as to what to do.

I'm going to try to do a class atleast one a week. My weghts down to 232. So i've lost about 3lbs so far.

I'm SO PROUD of myself right now. I wasnt home doring lunch so my daughter and I stopped by a little eatin place. I drank water with my meal instead of a pepsi. Woo.

Hey there Jae0,
I am excited to start following your post. I also am a Y member and was thinking about meeting with a wellness coach and trainer to get on a plain. What workout class do you plan on doing? I have done a step cardio class and I felt great after, although I did have to adjust the intensity down a bit. Good luck and congrats on passing up on the Pepsi, I know it's hard!!!!

Weight for this firday: 232. 3lbs lost which is great since I didnt really get into a good workout rhythm til Wed.

Thank you! I've gone to the Body Pump class and Core Fusion. They were great, but the classes are done in front of mirrors. Nothing slaps you in the face more than looking in a fully length mirror at yourself.
So I only went to those a few times then stopped. But I think i've finally gotten over my fear of the mirror.

I can say that meeting with a wellness coach and trainer was the best decision i've made so far. For the past two years that i've had my membership at the Y, I though I could do it all by myself and that talking to someone was a waste of time.
Having my measurements done and getting a routine is already helping.
I'm finally starting to talk to the trainers and coaches and asking their advice and thoughts on working out and eating. They're very supportive.

I've also decided that i'm a morning workout person. Its just easier to get it over with and the gym is a lot less crowded. If I wait til the afternoon to start I dont get as much done.
Right now i'm going two times a day, by myself in the morning and in the evenings with my husband after he gets off work. I do the hard cardio in the AM and then some walking/jogging in the PM.

Yesterday I only had light lemonade one time, and with dinner I drank water. Then I had a glass of skim milk before bed.
This morning I had a cup of OJ and ate an apple (I dont like eating before I workout, I feel heavy) and then came home and had some tuna, pretzels, and water. Not sure what on the agenda for later.

I won my first big brownie battle last night. I got a big glass of milk, and a brownie. I sat down, drank some milk and stared at the brownie.
The brownie stared back. All it needed was some eyes and it would have been like one of these Geico commercials with the money (I swear I heard the music in the background).
I drank some more milk and thought about it.
The brownie would be delicious and I was craving something sweet. But the brownie would be about 300+calories and it wasnt even that big. I had spent two hours at the gym that day and eaten pretty well.
Did I really want to eat this brownie and throw away some of that work, that sweat and pain?
Was the brownie worth being disappointed on the scale?
I finally closed my eyes and made my husband put the brownie in the kitchen.
Then I focused on how sweet the milk tasted and that helped. By the time I finished off the milk I felt content and it was easier.

Today on the Wave (i'm in love with that machine) I told myself I would go three miles. At 1.25 miles I was dragging and I thought 'Well I did work out hard yesterday, I could go easy today.' then I realized that if I started slacking now it wouldnt stop and that there was no reason that I couldnt go the full distance I wanted so I pushed through it and ended up doing 3.50 miles.

This time around things just seem easier and different. I dont know why, my determination outweighs my cravings. Maybe its because the rewards arent just the way my body will look. It will mean I'll get to have another baby. I'll get to be a better example for my daughter. My husband will have a hot little wife (as opposed to a hot big wife) to take around lol.

jen_renee, good luck and I hope you get your baby!

Today I woke up weighing in at 230.2
That puts me at 5 pounds lost. But I dont officially count weight lost till each Friday, because I know how weight can fluctuate.

Today was Saturday. Its always been so hard to work out on weekend. We usually try to sleep in and visit family and lay around the house. But this morning we woke up, I drank some juice and ate an apple, we went to the gym! Stayed for an hour and a half, today was my day for doing weights and then I did some cardio. Feeling good. Back to the gym tomorrow!

Hey wow sounds like your doing great!!
Haha loved your story about the brownie, I've been in that situation many a time and as hard as it is - you always feel so much stronger after.
And you have tatts! Woo I love :D
Good luck and keep up the good work!

Thank you! I am at an impasse wtih my tattoos. Not sure what to do with them.

Took a break from the gym today, but went swimming for two hours. It was nice to get outside and get a little exercise. And believe me, having not been in a pool for about 5 years, it was exercise.

Had Pepsi on Saturday and Mountain dew today, but its all good. Also had a Hershey bar. Mmmm nom nom.
Had a steak on Saturday, today I had honey bbq wings. Delicious.

As long as I give in a little to my cravings, i'm good. If I hold off on them I eventually lose it and just pig out and fall off completely. So I look at the weekends as time for a food vacation. I dont go insane with the food, but I allow more leeway than I do on weekdays.

Tomorrow is back to the gym. I'll be working my legs and doing cardio.
Tuesday i'm going to Body Pump. Little nervous about that.

DONT WANT TO GO TO THE GYM.
Arrrrgh. My daughter is whiny, my dog pooped on the carpet, I've got a headache, tired, sore. I dont want to do anything.

I just want to sit at home, read a book, and eat something sinful. But theres nothing that bad in the house. I have chocolate syrup, I could always just do shots of that.

BASJFDHASFD.

Must fight mental barrier, must go to gym, must push.

Finally went. Feel FANTASTIC now.

Going again later to do weights.

Update: Got my mile down fron 17:40 to 16:03
