It Starts...

Just a quick check in. Today is day 1 of tracking my macros and protein is in the lead. I think this is going to be much easier than I initailly expected.

I took my measurements this weekend and the numbers are down from Steptember... however I lost another 1" off my chest. WTF!!! But I did lose inches off the bottom half too just not as much as I had hoped.

Its week 2 of my half training. I did week 1 twice to get myself into the groove, although I totally screwed myself because I've been inactive since Wednesday. With Stephen's birthday over the weekend I was thrown off my normal schedule, but no need to dwell on it. I'm just moving forward.

With that I did 45 mins of Kickboxing this morning with my wrist weights and DIED. It was a good kinda die though. Tonight I need to get in 85 mins to meet the challenge requirments and I plan to strength train for the majority of that and then maybe do intervals for a couple miles. Or shoot I might even bust out my Winsor pilates tapes... who knows???

Waist: 24 1/2"
Bicep: R&L - 11"
Wrist: R&L - 6"
Hips (widest part of my lower half): 42 1/2"
Thigh: R- 23 3/4" L- 24"
Above Knee: R- 17 3/4" L- 17"
Calf: R- 15" L- 15 1/4"
Ankle: R&L- 9 1/2"
 
Oh I also wanted to mention that this weekend maked 1 month of my Mom being on her program. She is down 8 pounds and has lost 18 inches overall. She looks and feels great and I am soo proud of her for sticking it out. Typically by week 3 she would have been done, but I think that since we have been doing weekly workouts and weight ins its kept her motivations UP!!!

Ha ha thanks Val. I am one hot mama from the hips up.. then it gets a little scary but its getting better!!!

Today is tempo run 2 miles, hoping to have another PR but we will see. Had 1518 cals yesterday so right on target with that stuff... I'm currently at school so I'm off to do a bit of reading before my next class!

So happy to hear your mother is doing so well, Dee! What do you have her doing? Is it mostly diet or is she doing some exercise too?

She is doing the WW flex plan and I asked that she try to get double the amount of recommended protein which comes out to about 80g/day. But she hasn't really been doing but she does well with tracking her points and her exercise.

As far as exercise goes, she is walking 120-150 mins/week and then her and I do a circuit workout on Sundays or a long hilly walk. We are doing a 5K walk on the 14th of this month. Step and I were going to run it but I asked if she were interested in walking which she was so I'm going to walk with her and Step will run alone... but she is really motivated and freaking strong as a horse, she has amazed me several times already!

YAY!!! I'm so happy for her and for you !!! You are both doing this together and this is something you've wanted for so long...I'm happy for you both!!! :)!
 
I am! I've been trying for years to help her but she was never ready ya know. Till finally after my uncle was in the hospital and she SAW where she was headed did her whole attitude change.

She is like my best friend, I tell her everything and we talk about everything and I would hate to see her have a shortened life because of something she could have prevented. And I think she is seeing that now. Plus exercising gives us another thing to do together. She wants to mountain bike and hike with Stephen and I this summer which I think is nothing short of amazing!! She just needed a little push and lots of support! :)

All of a sudden seemingly I lose 4 pounds.... WTF! But I am NOT complaining!! I'm feeling great and looking beautiful and that's ALL that matters!!

Now I'm off for my 3 miles tempo run!!
 
Ha ha thanks Steve, I was half expecting you to be the realist and say something like its just a number and its most likely water weight or something of that effect... :)

What matters most is I feel and look good... that low number is just a HUGE bonus!
 
Meh, it's always fun breaking into new territory. The numbers aren't always pointless.

It's most likely a combo of a) the calories we reduced and b) less overall stress on the body.
 
I agree completely.

I was thinking today about what my reaction will be like when I hit 129... I just may take the day off ya know???

I remember seeing 149 then 139 and I foresee 129 being a BIGGIE... and when my hips are less than 40 that will be a huge day aswell!
