It Starts...

the plank method you can do on a gas grill... the packets you can do in the oven, toaster oven, grill, whatever.. .and veggies go nicely in them - zucchini and carrots work well

SUPER! I will try this out when we get back from our trip, hopefully we aren't all fished out by then!:willy_nilly:

Okay just wanted to post the rest of my eats for today. Its going to be another crazy night at home. We have chores, a run, and my bff is coming over for dinner....so I don't think I will get the chance to post.

I am making chicken alfredo with onion, bell pepper (red and green), squash, mushroom, and broccili for dinner. BFF is bringing a salad and Stephen is making garlic bread... I myself will skip on the pasta and bread!

Lunch:
1 pita: 3
2 oz turkey: 1
1 tbsp mustard: 0
1 slice provalone: 3
2 leaf romain: 0
1 cup carrots: 0
1 diet coke: 0
Total: 7 Points
Note: The diet coke gave me a wicked headache.. or at least I think thats what did it.

PM Snack:
1 green apple: 1
1/2 tbsp honey: 0.5
1/2 pita: 1.5
1 tbsp peanut butter: 2
Total: 5 points
Note: This snack was aaaaammmaazzzzing!! Totally made my headache go away and feeling pretty good!!

This leaves me 9 points for tonight. I know the chicken is worth 3 points, all the veggies are 0 and then the alfredo sauce is???? I think its somwhere around 3 points for 1/4 cup, which is more than I like to use for myself! So we are in business! Plus we will be going for an hour run tonight so that should give me some points back... but I dont really plan to go over my allotted amount!

August 6

Well last night's run was a total bust. We got about 1/4 mile down the road and a huge storm hit... like HUGE. We were soaked by the time we got back to the house. I would just like to go on the record and say that running in the rain.. its hard! But I also think I was just trying to hurry to get back inside... the lightening was bad too... we thought the storm was moving south but it was moving west following our tracks. Stephen took some pics of me in all my rain glory.. Ill post them later.

Dinner last night was nice. I had a little bit of pasta and a piece of bread.. its was pretty darn amazing. I felt like I might have overcooked the chicken just a bit, but it was still yummy. My bff, lets call her TJ, comented on how nice my legs were looking. She has known me for 16 years so she has seen my transformation first hand... although she still holds that I was never 'fat.' I think she just saw the best in me and ignored the fact that I weighed 215 at age 14. I told her that I was hoping to get down to 140 by my birthday.. she thinks I'm crazy to loose anymore, and honestly I just want to get rid of the last bit of weight on my lower half and then really concentrate on gaining strength and endurance.

So Stephen and I talked a bit last night about Weight Watchers and he thinks that for the direction I am going its no the best diet option for me. He feels that because of all the exercise I do that the points system is not giving me the best options... I guess for lack of better words. So I think I might switch to calorie counting when we get back from our trip and see if it makes any difference in my performace/weight loss. I really like doing WW because its soooo simple and it has worked for me.... but I may need to broden my horizon and try different things.... so thats my rant for the time being....

Today's Eats

Breakfast:
Poo Baby shake w/1cup mixed berries: 3

In my opinion, weight watchers is all about teaching you to make healthier choices when it comes to eating. If it has taught you that lesson then you're ready to move on.

Yes and I agree too... I am just aprehensive of change... But change is good and its time to move on. I just did some reading in the nutrition area, felt like I was in my Nutrition 205 class... Thanks Mal if you're reading this.. its was a good re-fresher! I hope to one day know all of that like the back of my hand... but its alot of info... know what I mean?

Anyway, I had checked my BMR and its 1400 something without adding daily activity... which is kinda LOW???? If I was completely sedentary would that mean to loose a pound a week I would only get 900 cals... I know that's not right. I am confused about why that number is sooo low and what effects it. I will do more reading to see what I can find.

points in theory are calories... somewhere i've posted what the formula is for figuring out points... only ww has entirely too many zero point things that they say dont count for the average person -everything counts...

More Eats:

AM Snack:
1 cup hot tea: 0
1 pkt splenda: 0
1 carb master vanilla yogurt: 2
1/2 cup FF milk: 1
Total: 3

Lunch:
1/2 pita: 1.5
1 slice provalone: 3
1 tbsp mustard: 0
2 leaf romain: 0
1 mini bag doritos: 4
1 cup cantalope: 1
Total: 8 Points

I am going to salsa tonight which is worth 7 points back, which basically cancels out my lunch. I have some grapes for my afternoon snack and then we are doing leftovers for dinner... but I might skip dinner.....

Skipping dinner is not healthy. Remember.... hopefully your goal through this whole process was to be healthier. Being skinny but not healthy can be just as bad for your body as being overweight. Eat dinner.

Yeah, what ^ he said again. Don't skip meals silly. Especially your meal after the WO. Its your best one. Your body will need protein and carbs.

I googled my BMR the other day too, just to see what it was... Mine is 2150 or so, and that isn't with my activity level multiplied in. With it multiplied in I think its 3300 about... I think with your 1400 you probably don't have your activity level figured in... because that seems awful low to start subtracting calories from to create a deficit....

I know I know... I was having an I'm full moment and don't want to even think about eating. We will see how I feel after salsa.. I'm sure I will be starving by that point... and I can always make a protein shake if I'm not too hungry.

Yeah the 1486 is just to maintain body function. I had done a similar assignment in my NUTR 205 class and then it said my BMR was around 2500 but I think that was with all my exercise calced in. I might search for a better online tool than the one I used so that I can get a better idea of how many cals I will need to loose.

PM Snack:
1 cup grapes: 1
1 mini bag FF pop corn: 1
Total: 2 Points
Note: I have a pretty bad headache right now, I think its from sitting here at my desk and doing nothing what-so-ever!!!! Just trying to relax and breath through it.

August 7

Its early... and I'm already sitting at my desk with nothing to do. I usually come in at 7:30, but I am having an ice maker installed today and will have to take a 2 hour lunch so I came in at 7. I honestly think my job is what has caused me sooo much stress this summer. We have been soooo slow and I come in and do 8.5 hours of nothing... yes I'm getting paid, but I feel like I could be so much more productive at home. I think during school the slow times at work don't bother me because I can always do homework... but since I have no homework I am stuck surfing the web all day.... and our office is tiny.. single floor.. if it were bigger I would make laps or do the stairs... but if I made laps around here people would ask questions. Anyway, so I am here... I made the coffee and watered the plants and went through my emails (which were all junk) checked the schedule... and here I sit. I can't wait for this day to be over... we leave tomorrow!!!

Speaking of leaving tomorrow I think we got everything in order for the trip... I am totally anal about making lists and packing just right and you know... typical woman. I also want to have a spotless house to come home to... I am acutally glad to be taking a 2 hour lunch, I can get soooo much done in that time and then it will be a little less stressful when I come home tonight.

Last night salsas class was ehh... I feel like our instructor was pre-occupied maybe and didn't push as hard... I was still pushing as hard as I could and was sweating like crazy, but was hoping for a little more. I feel like my handweights are getting too light for me and I need to up them. I just might have to add that to my birthday list! Tonight is circuit night, pretty excited about that I feel like I am getting back into the swing of things. I also am having a massage this evening... hopefully I can just come home and relax, so its crucial that I get all the stuff on my list done prior to that.

Anywhooo... I could rant on, but I won't. I will find some way to occupy my time.

Todays Eats.. well breakfast....
Poo Baby Shake w/1 cup mixed berries: 3

Whats a poo baby shake?

I had the same questions when reading through Alta's diary. Its just a soy protein shake with pysllium husk seed in it, the seed is jamed with fiber and makes you... POO!!!! I thought I would try it out... ehh they work I guess.

LMAO. Thats too funny.

Yeah the first one I made pretty much tasted like poo, but adding frozen fruit really helps... and it only adds a point. And since I am using it as a meal the more points the better.

I don't know if it will help with the weight-loss at all. The soy protein I bought says "not for weight reduction" which worried me a little... but that statment is also vague.
