So.. total side bar, but I was telling Step that we should totally go to CA sometime for an adventure. I've seen so many awesome pics from your runs and really would love to go to some of those places. Maybe next summer if we have our shit together we can make a little adventure vacation out of it! He knows a BRB breeder in San Jose that he has been dying to meet and chat with... Herp stuff of course.... But I think it would be pretty awesome!!
 
Yeah, I have never been there... We also plan to explore this state at some point... I didnt know it was your tribe.

Central NM is pretty boring, but there is alot of stuff to do up north....
 
My aunt is Water Quality Specialist for our tribe, and her ex husband just got the 2008 Nuclear Free Future Award: He's been at it for years, man! Trying to keep uranium mining waste off Native land. I remember researching it in college and finding a book with his picture in it. Good Old Uncle Mannie! He's 100% Acoma Pueblo Indian, I am only 25%.

That's really awesome!! My grandmother is 1/2 apache, which would make me 1/8. But I don't know anything about the tribe... My grandmother was always ashamed of it for some reason so we never talked about it.
 
It's like that sometimes. Gramps married a Mexican, so I'm also quarter Mex. The Pueblos were probably the highest regarded groups of N.A.s due to their culture and way of living (ever read Patterns of Culture by Margaret Mead?) My mom's side of the family is mostly Native or Mexican with lots of white spouses thrown in there. I think my aunt is the only person in the family who married another Native, and she's half Mex herself. My family is HUGE. We all get along, it's great. I actually miss my second cuzins right now!
 
Yeah my mom is Spanish and Czech 1/2 n 1/2 straight up... and then my dad is a wonderful mix of german, irish, and that bit of apache. Which makes me a wonderful mix of things. We don't have a big family though and no one keeps in touch... I don't even know if I have second cousins for that matter!!

I only know what I grew up with, and I grew up with Catholic grandparents with lots of sisters and brothers and THEIR families, and we ALWAYS get together for graduations, Xmas, TG, Easter, blah blah blah. Extended family importance was just something I grew up with, and now that I'm older, I truly appreciate it. It helps that most of my family lives in Cali. I have a paternal second cousin in Alaska, a maternal great aunt and her family in Australia (going to visit next August!!!), and one of my maternal aunts, my uncle and cousins grew up with me in the same town until I was 17, then they moved to WA then Michigan. My second cuzes and great uncle and aunt live near Sacramento and that's who I'm going to see for TG with my mom, step dad, grandma, gramps, 2 other great uncles and aunts, and my great aunt and her husband.
 
Ha ha no I think its awesome! I have always wanted to have big family get togethers.. but its just doesn't happen... everyone is so spread out and no one cares to get together... But I get my fix with Step's family. Both of his parents of of 8!!! Thats 7 aunts and uncles on both sides... plus cousins... and then second and third cousins... and they get together for EVERYTHING!!!! We went there last christmas... and we celebrated christmas 3 TIMES!!! It was amazing!! So much family love!!

I am a Family Slut. I like hanging out with other people's families. I have several different "moms" and "dads". My "brother and sister" or friends who are pretty much that, have parents I consider my own and I get invited to all the parties and sometimes their Thanksgivings and Xmas get-togethers. It's very odd. Families don't mind me--her dad actually said, "Oh yes, you are the loud annoying daughter I never had," but he gave me a hug :)

Ha ha yeah I have several side familys or had. Things get crazy when you get older as I have come to find out... I like to adopt other familys though... I have at least 3 moms that I can think of.
 
Hello SEXY MAMA!!!!

I hope you are having a WONDERFUL DAY!!! I need to catch up in here....I'm so busy today.....I just wanted to tell you that it did happen to me....with my Halloween costume!!! :( I felt my legs looked like BLIMPS on STICKS and I was upset,...it took me about 2 hours after seeing that picture to readjust my TINA TURNER costume up a bit to adjust my SELF ESTEEM! ALL I COULD THINK OF WAS THESE DAMN MUTHA F*(&#(* LEGS :smash: they NEED WORK!!! I thought of you and how you said it took you a while to come to love yourself completely....and that's what made me FEEL HAPPY AGAIN!:sifone:! I was like, "LOOK, ALTA, this is how you are made....they Can go down, they will, but they WILL ALWAYS be THIIIIIIICK" GET OVER IT!"....LOVE EM, EMBRACE EM, and MOVE ON!!! ....:) THANKKKKKKKKK YOU!!! :grouphug:

I feel ya lady! I think we need to reflect at those moments of defeat and see how far we've come no matter if we like what we see in the mirror or not. And I think we tend to have a skewed perception of ourselves and will typcially see only the flaws... when really that person looking back in one hot mama!! :smash:

We just have to push through and our legs will be hot and sexy... someday... but as long as we keep our eye on the prize then only success will find us!!!
