It has been 10 months

Some people have great genetics like you Chillen. I have seen your pictures and i must say you look amazing for your age. I am sure you have a very strict diet plan and workout regiment. I do not know how much time you have devoted in order to perfect them but i have school and a full time job i must take care of. So I do not always have the time to make a regimen. Although i might try to make a solid workout routine for myself (FBW). My work schedule always changes so my gym days change every week, which i do not like at all.

Right now i am happy the way I am, i dont have a fire under my ass to gain muscle mass. We each have our own goals. If that Blender Bomb works and tastes great i will drink it and gain some mass to improve my figure.

I just set goals and adjusted and refined the "Logistics" to ensure I was going to reach them. During this entire time I worked full time and even went back to a couple of semesters of school at the same time.

My son is a junior at Kansas University--he stays at the dorm. He works full-time, and still traines and organizes his diet and training regime. Of course, he has his dad behind him--with his attitude, lol.

Where there is a will.......one sees........clearly--enough to make adjustments to suite their overall goal.

It all boils down to whether one is happy or not. This is why when you said you were basically happy, I said fair enough----I really meant this in a good manner.

But if you decide to change your goals......then myself and the others would be more than happy to assist the "brotha!"

best wishes,

Chillen

I understand all the replies. Over the past 2 weeks I have gained some weight. I was a solid 150 in the morning 2 weeks ago and last week i was 155 solid and this morning i was 160. So hopefully i will gain about 10 more pounds. If i do succeed in gaining some more weight then i will kick up my training harder. I am still writing down my calorie count. I have eaten almost 1755 calories in 6 hours. I still have a long day ahead of food eating MMMmmmMM.
So far i have:
Selects Blue Berry Morning Cereal w/ 2% milk - 440 cal
Large Chicken Carbonara from Quiznos ~600 cal
Del Monte Fruit Cocktail (Lite) - 210
Banana - 105
Peach - 100
FiberOne Peanute butter & oats bar - 150
Dole Mango Juice - 150

Can i assume that you need the most protein right after workout and the day after cause of soreness?

Updated list:

Del Monte Fruit Cocktail (Lite) - 210
Banana - 105
Peach - 100
FiberOne Peanute butter & oats bar - 150
Dole Mango Juice - 150
Protein Shake w/2% milk - 48g protein - 390 cal

You don't need to consume protein in response to doing an activity. You need to consume protien just because you always need it.

Oh i know that you need protein just because. But is it not more beneficial to consume it after a workout and the day after? When your muscles are sore it usually means they are repairing themselves and are growing, thus needing protein to improve the muscle fibers.

Well, you should get at least 1 g protein per lb of bodyweight. What we're saying is you need more protein all day everyday. Not only do you need P to build muscle, you need it to maintain muscle. So regardless of whether it's a training day or not, you just need more P.

As a post workout meal, you should down a lot of protein. Every meal after that should have protein...I don't really know what you're asking. You should ALWAYS be eating, and eating stuff with protein in it. Each day is new, each day requires protein. Doesn't matter if you've trained or not.

...That answer your question?

hold up, wait.
how many calories do you eat daily? ~2150?
thats....hardly anything.
just an example: im 148, no training, eating ~2500 to maintain weight...and you are 5 inches taller than I.
your going to have to improve your diet if you want gains

I wasnt done writing my list. I still need to update it :p.

That is about 2845 calories today. I could have eaten way more, but i had to study for a bloody exam today :(.

With your fast metabolism you can keep eating the sugar stuff, esp if your diet has been around there for the past 10 months. Throw in 2-3 chicken breasts, some eggs, and tuna and you'll be set.

why didnt you eat while you studied?

you never know, maybe you can multitask well...thats what i do when i am hungry and have to study

Heh i know what you mean. When i am at the house i eat alot when i study. If i dont understand something that i am studying i eat a little more to relieve the stress LOL.

HAHAHAHA Exactly.

Don't forget that eating big on a fast metabolism has a lot to do with consistancy. You have to eat big all day, everyday.

Also, you might be fatiguing fast because you are too lean. Being too lean is hell on your body. Once you get your BF up you're going to feel a lot more energy.

Im liking this thread, jus been reading through it. Think i really need to sort out my diet, its not bad at all but i want it perfect but its just sometimes to get hold of a lot of things, especially when im banned from driving for drink driving! :(

Id love to be able to have chicken breast everyday but just cant always access it! i no other lean meats are also good source of protein. I do get enough carbs thats one thing im pleased with but i dont think i get enough healthy fats. Need to get some more nuts & Almonds but they are quite expensive arnt they for what they are.

Would someone post one of their average daily diets down, just so i can compare mine to it and improve. :D cheers ppl ;)

Huh.......what's my problem then? (leaving the question open ended intentionally)

HEHEHEHE

Just to give you some idea of the calories involved...

I'm your height and I currently weigh 193. I'm cutting (losing weight) at 3700 calories per day. To gain weight I have to be over 4000.

At your weight you don't need to eat that much, but 2800 isn't very high. If you have your protein taken care of and need more calories try whole grain pasta, brown rice, natural peanut butter, dried fruits. Those are all pretty calorie dense
