Issue with smilies

I can only see smilies when i'm replying to certain posts, mostly there is none! Theres nothing on the right hand side of this box, not even an x. I'm confused. Helllllllp.
 
I have worked it out! For myself anyway :hurray:

instead of clicking on the "quick reply", click on the go advance button to the right og it. And the smileys box comes up.

Yepp, that's how I do it, and I didn't have any smiley problems for ages. Must be something about the 'quick reply' function.
