Indigoiis Diary

This morning I did weights and barn chores.
I am going to a funeral today and don't know what I'm having after 2 pm.
But I'm intending to keep it light... and if possible, healthy.

Boiled egg over whole wheat toast
1/2 grapefruit

2 cups watermelon cubed

carrots with hummus
1 slice whole wheat bread
1 string cheese

Indy

Here's what's weird: I "feel" thinner, and some of my pants fit better, but there's this one pair of jeans that doesn't feel any looser than before. I am wearing them now.

Down a pound from last week. This is slow going weight-wise but the benefits of exercize are obvious at every turn. When I walk in the barn in the a.m., I leap up onto a tack box to turn on a radio. I have a lot more energy.

Today I rode 6 miles with hills. Lovely morning ride.

Instant oatmeal with raisins, 3 tbsp yogurt, flax seed, wheat germ
1/2 grapefruit

banana

3 oz boneless pork chop, 1/2 cup brown rice, cooked carrots (leftover from dinner which I missed last night.)
apple

carrots with hummus

Turkey burger
Salad

About 1650 cals today.

Good morning!

I had a house guest overnight and so didn't have time for a long bikeride this morning. The good news is, earlier in the week, the Mister went up the loft and brought down his two bikes - he used to be quite the competitive roadracer and mountain biker - and during the week, quietly blew the dust off and oiled chains and replaced innertubes. When I went into the garage to get my bike out, there were his two old bikes. I never thought I'd see that - he always, always says he's too busy with the farm to ride. This is his way of saying he wants to be a part of what I am doing. That makes me happy. I'll see if I can get him to take a break from shearing for a half hour to go for a ride this weekend.

So today I did the stationary bike for 20 mins., HIIT (10 rounds, alt. with 10 rests) and stretches, and then went up and entertained our houseguest.

Today was treat day for my daughter and I... we do this every Friday. There's this place nearby that makes the best homemade doughnuts. So I worked it in...

1 sl. Whole wheat toast w 1 tbsp natural pb
1/2 grapefruit
1 old fashioned homemade cruller

banana

tuna over romaine
1 mozz. stick
2 wasa crispbread

apple

turkey burgers, spinach salad
1 4 oz. yogurt
1700 cals today+/-

I spent the weekend in a constant state of movement, culminated by a ten mile bikeride over hill and dale and through the woods. I ate at maintenance (2000 - 2400 cals per day but you can bet they were coming off as we were working nonstop all three days.)

My plan for today:

Kashi cereal with whole milk
1/2 grapefruit

banana

Fruit salad with yogurt
2 Wasa cripsbread
1 tbsp Peanut butter

1/2 cup raisins

Rice & veggies baked with parmesan & breadcrumbs

About 1700 cals today, and later a 2 mile walk.

Indy

I ended up running and walking 3 miles instead of walking last night.
This morning, did 20 min. weights, 10 min. aerobic/calisthenic (stairs with weights and stretching... jumping jacks.)

Fried egg over 1 slice whole wheat toast
1/2 grapefruit

banana

spinach tortilla with zucchini and mozzerella cheese
carrot sticks & hummus
2 wasa crackers

4 oz. fruit yogurt

ground turkey w/rice, mixed veggies, chickpeas, black beans, salsa, shredded cheese.

Applesauce

Around 1550-1650 today.
I lost another pound this week. ;)

Good morning!

I measured this morning and wow. It inspired me to pull out an old pair of slacks that in March I could not comfortably get over my hips. I am wearing them now, and they are not even tight.

I rode 6 miles in 35 minutes, and stretched for five.

Bulgar wheat with flax seed, wheat germ, 1/2 cup whole milk, applesauce, raisins. Half grapefruit

Apple

Leftover rice/ground turkey/veggies/cheese/salsa - 1 cup
Carrots & hummus
5 big strawberries
2 wasa crispbread crackers
1 stringcheese

Pear or 4 oz yogurt

Pasta with butter and veggies
Summer squash
1 slice whole wheat toast

Couple of Graham crackers

1650... ish

1 old fashioned cake doughnut

banana

2 cups whole wheat pasta with white beans, cottage cheese, tomato, zucchini

carrotts

apple

Bean burrito with cheese, rice, romaine salad

1600 cals today

Good morning.
Feeling eh today... raining and it's that cranky time again.
Sinus pressure and feh.

Ate at maintenance over the weekend (but with health in mind) and had light to moderate chores all weekend.

Had to come into work early so did not have time for more than barn chores, but played hard over the weekend so that is okay.

Oatmeal with raisin, puffed wheat, nuts, yogurt, wheat germ, flax seed.
1/2 grapefruit

apple

tuna
fresh tomato
carrots
2 crispbread

4 oz yogurt

Leftover sweet potato with raisin & black bean salsa.
Whole grain bread

Going to a PTO meeting at 7 where there will be dessert.

About 1650 - 1750 today depending on dessert. I'm not feeling that well so may go home early.

Indy

So I am feeling better this morning.
I think yesterday was the monthly blues thing. I have to be kind to myself and just accept that hormones are hormones. Someday, I won't have a period anymore. I need to enjoy being me even on off days. So I forgave myself not exercizing and had three ginger snaps for dessert, which followed birthday cake at lunch (adding like, 400 cals total to yesterday.) It was a high calorie day with no exercize besides the usual barn chores, but some days, you've got to have it.

Today:

I did 20 min. HIIT on the stationary bike, and since I have gotten fitter, I was able to up the intensity even during rest periods. That was great. It was a great workout.
I did 30 min. barn chores - moved some panels and hay ricks.

Kashi w/ whole milk, flax seed, wheat germ
1/2 grapefruit

1/3 cup raisins

Boiled egg, zucchini, carrots, 2 crispbread
apple

.5 oz almonds

turkey wrap with romaine salad (we've got to eat and run for an event tonight.)

1400 cals - a low cal day because of yesterday.

Okay.
So, guess what? I'm wearing a size six slacks today. And they are not tight. The button is loose from the last time I "tried" to wear them all day (I should have been in a 9/10 - had the whole muffintop thing going... *shudder.*)
As size six was my goal, I am very pleased. I didn't see it so much before but when I put these pants on this morning, I knew for sure.
Three months of hard work and sloooowwww (purposefully) fat loss, and I feel awesome. I am very happy to maintain at this weight - any other loss at this point would just be bonus. I am now in the process of researching about maintaining, so this will be my endeavor from here forward: building strength, continuing regular activity for heart health, and eating right.

Weights 30 min; calisthenics 15 min plus barn chores. I tried to do chin ups on a beam in the barn. It's a good thing I was alone. The chickens were laughing at me.

Mixed veggies with kidney and lima beans, microwaved (thanks Freya!)
1/2 cup cottage cheese mixed in... yum.
1 cup orange juice

4 oz yogurt

deli turkey, cheddar cheese slices, 2 crispbread, fresh tomato, carrot sticks

apple

I might have a piece of cake... probably will. Or chocolate.

Pork chops with brown rice, mustard greens
Glass milk

About 1500-1900 cals today, depending on the cake thing (it's 400 calories a slice!!!)

Thanks.
I can see taking a little more off, but I am not going to obsess over it. I need to love who I am, right now.
This site is teaching me a lot.
This site is helping me stay active, for one thing. And I am learning a lot about nutrition.
I love the awareness that comes with treating your body right.

Today:
Did 6 miles on the regular bike, with hills.
10 min. stretching/yoga
1 min. trying to do a pull up in the barn. If I do it every day, will I eventually be able to do one? Tune in tommorrow for... "Chin Up"
Barn chores

Fried egg on 1 slice whole wheat flax bread
1/2 grapefruit

box raisins
4 oz yogurt

same lunch as yestiddy - fresh tomato, cold cuts, cheddar cheese with vineagrette, fresh carrots, 2 crispbread
Kiwi

apple
piece of chocolate

1/2 of 8 inch white pizza from the pizza joint
small salad
Root beer?

1800-2000 cals today, depending on the root beer.

Indy

Good morning!
Did weights today 20 min; calisthenics 10 min; barn chores and hung by the beam, pulling myself closer to a chin up, for one minute.

Kashi, raisins, whole milk, 1/2 grapefruit

.25 of my daughter's doughnut (we were in a hurry, I didn't get one.)

4 oz yogurt

leftover white pizza (with chicken and broccoli) 2 pieces
romaine salad
carrot sticks

kiwi

turkey burgers on sourdough rolls; romaine salad, sweet potato
Glass of milk or some other after dinner treat.

1800-2000 cals today, depending on after dinner.
I lost another pound, so I will keep reducing til I break the 130's, then I will look again at my plans.

This morning I got up late, so I'll get on the bike tonight when I get home.

Oatmeal with raisin, puffed wheat, flax seed, wheat germ
1/2 grapefruit

kiwi

pasta with tomato, pepper, sausage (in sauce)
2 crispbread
small zucchini, raw
carrots

apple

chicken with brown rice, brocolli
glass milk or 1 cup yogurt

1600-1800 cals today... working upwards but it's hard as my appetite is not what it was a month ago... it really has adjusted to low cal.

Indy

What a day.
Very busy.
But I did ride this morning, and hung by my arms from the beam for 30 seconds, and feel great.

Fried egg on whole wheat
.5 grapefruit
banana
pasta w/tomatos, zucchini, carrots, crispbread, cottage cheese
apple
burritos, brown rice, spinach salad

I'm thinking that's a clean 1800. I hope.

Howdy,

Moved furniture in anticipation of houseguests.

This morning, being LMB's last "real" day of school, I took her to the doughnut shop.

Cereal with milk, OJ

apple

4 oz. yogurt

Chicken with broiled potatos, steamed greens

1/2 croissant with almonds

leftover white pizza with chicken & brocolli - 3 small slices
zucchini, raw

4 oz peach yogurt

spinach salad

apple

Grilled panini - ham and cheese and peppers
salad
diet coke or other diet soda

About 1700 cals today.

I have now completely lost my muffintop. I went looking for it this morning while I was driving (used to sort of up and over the top of my jeans) and there was only muscle and skin. That is a good, good feeling. Three good months of eating right and exercizing... priceless.

Weights today - I'm in pain. Went a little overboard.

Fried egg on whole wheat toast
1/2 grapefruit
banana
zucchini
tuna
1 tbsp newman's own vineagrette
carrots
apple
4 oz yogurt

Dinner... not sure... possibly something from the garden, with cheese. Maybe spinach wraps? With rice?

1500 cals - Trying to keep it low because I had raspberry tart last night (on top of the carrot cake.)
