Today I did 20 min (10 sets) my form HIIT on the stationary bike (60 sec rest pace, 10-12 seconds flat out kill myself pace) and about 10 mins stretch/calisthenics, plus barn chores.

Fried egg from our chickens (with olive oil spray)
1 sl whole wheat toast
1 tsp flax spread
1/2 grapefruit

banana

macaroni bean soup
garlic bread
apple

4 oz. yogurt
raspberry tart - slice

cashew chicken over salad
garlic bread

About 1700 cals

Daughter told me this morning she could notice I looked healthy.

cashew chicken stir fry

peasant bread

lowfat chocolate ice cream

1900 cals, about.

Went on a 6 mile bike ride with hills, about 40 mins. Plus worked with the animals doing husbandry chores (involved some exercize.)

Today is 4/30/07

Today I did the stationary bike for mins, alternating between 15 second "spin" cycles and 60 second endurance cycles. Also 10 mins stretching & calisthenics, 20 mins barn chores with heavier lifting than usual.

Saturday I went on a real bikeride. With hills.

Saturday and yesterday I ate at maintenance (2100 cals), and it's back to calorie deficit today. This approach seems to be working rather well.

Kashi good friends with 3 tbsp plain yogurt, several strawberries, flax seed & wheat germ.

Fruit salad

1 slice Quiche
salad
orange

raisins

Eggplant parmesan
Peasant bread
Sauteed Greens

About 1650 cals.

Walked two miles (leisurely pace) with Mr. Wonderful last night.

This morning did weights (10 min) followed by stretching (5 min) followed by swamp yankee calisthenics (jumping jacks, some dance moves a la Napoleon Dynomite, and running 12 sets of stairs - 10 min.)

1 slice whole wheat toast with 1 tbslp peanut butter
1/2 grapefruit

banana

bean/macaroni soup
salad
1 rye crispbread
1 cup cottage cheese

handful almonds
carrots & celery

tofu stir-fry with mixed veggies, beans, over brown rice

About 1500 - a low cal day but will probably round up to 1600 with a glass of juice or milk after dinner. I am walking with a girlfriend tonight - 2 miles leisurely pace.
 
Thanks... I'm making progress, albeit slow - but my clothes are fitting better and I feel great. It's actually been easier for me this time around, because I am not on a crazy diet. When I want cake or cookies or fries, I just add em in. I wanted this to be fun and something to look forward to. Granted, on days like today (raining) it's hard to get my butt outa bed, but I feel like it's worth it to at least get ON the bike and see how I feel.

Today I did 20 mins endurance on the stationary bike, 5 mins. calisthenics and 5 mins. stretching. Last night I walked. Tonight I have a meeting and will not get a walk in. It's raining, but the next few days are supposed to be nice.

Fried farm egg sandwich on flax sprouted toast with 1 sl lowfat provolone cheese. Yum!

Before the meeting, I am going to a local diner for my dinner, which will be:

So last night I added a high calorie dessert - about five hundred cals - to my day, bringing me up to 2000 cals. Just so you know, Indy likes her sugah just like everyone else. So I am calculating that in today and tomorrow and reducing by a little bit. I also plan on having cake over the weekend as it is Little Miss Brilliant's birthday. But that's okay - that's what life is. Cake, ice cream, and the occasional greasy burger.

Last night it was the whole wheat pasta with feta, veggies, and black bean. Delicious! I stopped at one serving, although I could have gone for more!

Last night walked 2.5 miles 35 min.
This morning jogged 2 miles, walked .5 miles, stretched, did barn chores.

I walked 2.5 miles last night.
I had a piece of birthday cake (carrott - mmmm.) as well. So my cals were about 1800.
This morning, it's that time of month, I feel like crapola. I did half my usual routine on the stationary bike. Just didn't feel right. That's alright. I'll make it up another time. Some days you just have to sit back. So all in all, 10 min on the bike, 10 min stretching / calisthenics, 15 min. barn chores.

Oatmeal with apple, 1 tblsp yogurt, 1 tsp wheat germ, 1 tsp flax seed (ground), 1 glass OJ

Fast food - probably chicken sandwich, fries, diet coke... I am picking up my boss from the airport at dinnertime.

Good morning.
It's beautiful here this morning.

I did not have junk food last night, as was my want. I instead got a cinnamon raisin bagel with nothing on it, and when I got home, had leftover meatloaf and a huge salad. And a piece of carrot cake. So the calories were probably the same.

Today:

Weights/resistance - upped the weights (uh!) - 15 min
calisthenics / stretching - 10 min
barn chores with extended fun (carrying the manure barrel out to the compost) - 30 min.

Fried egg on sprouted flax bread toast, 1 slice provolone, 1/2 grapefruit

banana

romaine lettuce wrap, 1 slice provolone, 4 carrots, apple

4 oz yogurt
10 almonds

Not sure about din din as we will be out this evening. Trying for a 500+ cal dinner to be at 1700-1800 cals today.

Good morning!

Today it is 65-70, humid, summerlike! Down here by the bay we are all fogged in, but back at home it was sunny.

I rode the "real" bike today for a half hour, about 6 miles with two big hills and one long uphill. It was a great workout and I only once felt "Oh gawd I don't think I'm gonna get to the top!" But I kept going. I love it! Whoodathunkit.

Had barn chores with the extra fun (hauling manure in a garbage can)- that's changing now that we upgraded our farm truck to one that runs.

Food:

1.5 c Kashi Good Friends with 1 tsp flax seed, 1 tbsp wheat germ, whole milk (1 cup), 1/2 grapefruit.

Banana

1/2 of a huge Roast beef panini with peppers and cheese (leftover from last night)
4 carrots
apple

4 oz yogurt with blueberries

whole wheat pasta with fresh tomatoes & feta
Romaine salad
1 slice whole wheat toast

About 1700 cals today.

Might walk 2 miles tonight with my buddy.

It is beeeeeeeauuuutiful out this morning.
I did end up walking two miles last night.
This morning I lifted weights (10 min), did calisthenics (10 min.) and stretches (5 min.)
Then barn chores (15 min.) except when I went to take the poop barrel out back, I stopped short: the new poopmobile was parked in it's permanent position. So I didn't have to lug the barrel far. I was even a little disappointed. Two months ago I would have been overjoyed. Of course, two months ago, the paddock and lane were underwater.

2 little slices whole wheat flax-sprout toast with 2 tbsp Teddie Crunchy peanut butter.
.25 cup cottage cheese
.5 grapefruit
bite of my daughter's homemade chocolate doughnut, "Here mom, you need to eat something."
sip of her milk (I finished her milk that she left in the car - probably about .10 cup.)

This weekend I was travelling and camping and so ate at maintenance both Saturday and Sunday (including having a big ass cookie, a cheeseburger, fries, and those black bean chips. Yum!) Exercize was a long bike ride Saturday a.m. and some general aerobic activity yesterday evening moving panels and heavy stuff in the paddocks.

This morning I did 6 miles with hills on the road bike.

Food:

Bran flakes, .25 c lowfat yogurt, banana, flax seed & wheat germ
1/2 grapefruit

kashi hard granola bar

1 med. fresh tomato, 1 slice provolone, 1 hard boiled egg, 1 tbsp Newman's Vinegrette
carrots & celery
apple

pear

1 med. sirloin steak, grilled outside on our smokey joe
2 cups musturd greens
maybe 1 small baked potato

Looking at a low-cal day... 1500-1600, due to the indulgent weekend, in order to even out my week calorie spread.

Good morning.
I walked two miles last night with my walking buddy (another parent from kung-fu nights.)
She has foot issues so couldn't go the whole way. So I went around 3 mph with her and then about 4.5 mph for the last 1.5 miles.

This morning I did 15 min HIIT on the stationary bike (which, I am finding does not seem as effective anymore... now that I am riding a "real" bike, it seems like I don't get a good workout on the stationary...) and about 15 min. calisthenics / stretching. I did 20 mins. light barn chores (Mister Wonderful did the big stuff before I was even up.)

It's pouring rain here. I had to get something together on the computer this morning, leaving not as much time for a full workout. That's okay, though. I did a hard 15 mins. on the stationary bike, plus the usual barn chores.
Walked 2 miles hard last night.

1 cup bran cereal, with flax seed, wheat germ, wheat puffs, and a 1/4 cup cheerios, plus 1/2 cup whole milk

chicken breast, cottage cheese, one whole tomato, 2 carrotts, 1 wasa crispbread, 1 apple

Good morning!
I had another travel weekend and so did not eat reduced calories. It was just kind of back to maintenance, with no planned exercize. It was alright though. You have to do that sometimes.

This morning it was beautiful out but chilly. I didn't want to ride the bike because I didn't want the cold blast of air. So I walked fast two miles. Kind of lame but I'll make it up as the week goes on.
