Hi there,
I know what you mean about weight hopping up and down like that over night, best not too take too much notice lol.
Keep on going!

Swamp yankee calisthenics = when you can't afford an in-home gym, so you make one out of whatchya got. I have a mean set of basement stairs, so I go up (run) and down (backwards) those ten times. I do lateral pushups against the uneven wall. I do pullups from a pipe. I do the usual situps and jumping jacks. And my bike is a 197something fan bike. I love it. ;)

---------------------------------------------------------

So, last night we took a two mile walk, so I'm adding that to the kitty.

This morning, I did 6 miles endurance (25 min) at 3 mph - 3.5 mph on the old klunker. I was pretty psyched about that because I am definitely improving. Then I did stretches for 10 mins., and barn chores for 20.

wheat puffs, bran cereal, wheat germ, strawberries in .5 cup lowfat vanilla yogurt. Black coffee

1/2 grapefruit

2 c Fresh spinach and 1 slice havarti dill cheese in a whole wheat pita
2 Raw carrots
1 slice cake (?) not sure what they're doing here at work yet... it's early.

Banana

Tortellini with black beans, red sauce.
steamed brocolli
1 slice chocolate cake (I saw the Mister baking last night.)

This should go to about 1600-1800 cals today... I'm leaving a birthday buffer.

Halo,

How tall are you? We have just about the same starting and end weights!

I wish I knew exactly how tall I was, its driving me nuts! At best estimate, between 5ft 6" and 5ft 7". Next time I go to the doctor im going to get them to measure me!

Swamp yankee calisthenics, made me laugh :D good exercise though, keep it up!

Well, today at home the power was out and the basement is flooded, so my exercize consisted of stressing over that. Barn chores were particularly tedious. Because the power was out, I had no coffee, and was not motivated to throw together one of those perfect breakfasts. Eh. It's okay to have an occasional blah day. Working on keeping the cals down and sticking with healthy foods.

Breakfast: Chex with milk.

Lunch
1 cup vegetable soup
1 whole wheat pita
3 tbsp hummus
1 mozzerella stick

Snack
apple

Dinner depends on what I get home to. May have to chuck some food from the fridge.

Dinner last night was an omelette from our own eggs, fresh spinach, feta cheese, veg. refried beans, tomato salad.

Basement is still drying out, and it was raining, so my exercize today consisted of lying in bed til the last minute. ;)

Back on the bike tomorrow.

Bran flakes with milk
orange

1/2 grapefruit

spinach wrap with havarti cheese
fresh tomato salad
carrot sticks

4 oz yogurt

mac & cheese casserole, broccoli

About 1600 cals

So I have been the same weight (138) for over a week now, I guess that is what is called a plateau, and now my caloric intake needs to be adjusted downward if I want to lose any more. I'm at a good weight right now, but I still need some toning and would like to lose a little more fat. So I am going to reduce my calories this week and next another 100 cals a day, and up my exercize a bit. I think the next plateau will be essentially where I want to be, and then it is just maintenance and strengthening.

MIL is in town with nephew, basement is still unusable, and still raining, so another morning with no exercize. Excuses excuses. I'll get back on when they are gone.

1 c oatmeal with raisins made with water
1/2 grapefruit

Banana

3 slices deli meats
Wasa crispbread
Tomato salad
1 mozzerella stick

1/4 cup raisins

Spinach casserole
Steamed sweet potato

Banana pudding (MIL is making... so I gots to eat a bit of it.)

About 1500 cals

I had dessert last night, so today is going to be lean due to no exercize.

Breakfast: 1 c puffed wheat, 3 tblsp lowfat plain yogurt, 1 banana

snack: 1/2 grapefruit

lunch: 1.5 cup cooked sweet potato, 2 cups lettuce salad with 1 tblsp Newman's balsamic vineagrette, 1 slice whole wheat toast

snack: apple

dinner: 1 cup brown rice, stir fry vegetables, 1 slice whole wheat toast

Around 1375 cals.

Last night I walked / ran 3 miles trail and road, up in the woods. I'm back!
This morning did 20 min weights/resistance, 10 mins swamp yankee cardio, 20 mins. barn chores. The sun is back out. Basement stinks and the bike's too hayvee to move, so that will have to wait. But if the weather keeps up, I'll get out on the real bike.

Boiled egg, 1 sl. whole wheat toast, 1/2 grapefruit, black coffee

Pear

Curried mixed veggies over rice
Carrot
Orange
Cupcake (someone's birthday at work)

4 oz yogurt

Pizza tonight - 2 slices

About 1650 cals today.

Indy

p.s. the plateau broke with the clouds departing. Whoo hoo!

So I have been the same weight (138) for over a week now, I guess that is what is called a plateau, and now my caloric intake needs to be adjusted downward if I want to lose any more.

May I suggest something? Have you tried a "cheat day" where you eat like you were not dieting? Usually, for me, it shocks my system into losing. I never plan them, HA HA--it just so happens I fall off the wagon and....yeah, hence cheat day. But you could try it! It works for other people, too. Good luck with toning!

Hey CG! Yeah, I generally up my calories on the weekend and eat stuff I wouldn't during the week. I have also been told my protein is too low, so I am trying to up that as well.

So today the basement is dry again. Over the weekend I walked and did chores and ate about 2000 calories a day.

This morning I did 15 min on the bike alternating between high intensity (4.5 mph for 12 seconds) and rest (2 mph for 60 seconds.) Then I did barn chores. Will probably walk tonight after supper - about 2 miles.

English muffin, toasted, with peanut butter
1/2 grapefruit

Pear
4 oz yogurt

rice & beans - 1.5 cups
mozzerella stick

apple
handful almonds

pork chop
brown rice - 1 cup
2 cups mustard greens

1 cup milk

Around 1600 cals.

Today I did weights/resistance, calisthenics, barn chores.

1 cup oatmeal with apple, raisins, walnuts
1/2 grapefruit

banana

tomato salad with olive oil vineagrette

Mixed veggies

Last night I walked two miles. But I also had pasta salad instead of rice (leftovers had to be eaten) and asparagus instead of mustard greens. I also had one lovely slice of herbed bread. Mmmmm! That steak was very tough. I think I burned calories just chewing. I don't think I should indulge in steak unless I buy it organic, anymore.

Today: weights/resistance, calisthenics, stretching, barn chores.

1 sl wh wheat toast w/ 2 tbsp natural pb
1/2 grapefruit

banana

tomato salad with 3 slices cold cuts
1 mozzerella stick
apple
1 krispbread - rye vita

4 oz yogurt

tofu stir fry, brown rice (2 cups?)
1 large tortilla, oven warmed
1 cup milk

1 cup applesauce with cinnamon.

2 mile leisurely stroll tonight.

1650-1700 cals today
