It sounds like the treadmill needs to have the belt tightened, but I have no idea how you would do that on yours. As for the rest of it, you could be doing worse; you still have a young metabolism so you can take advantage of that. :D

I hope your mom is being fully supportive it sounds like she wants to help, but thinks you might need "a break" from your food plan. Keep doing the best you can, amigo; this stuff doesn't happen overnight.
Maybe make a deal with her, if she orders pizza, you have to get a salad or some celery sticks or something to munch on (no peanut butter, but light dressing can be good) while you have dinner. Just make it clear that you understand that you aren't the only one eating in the household, but that this is important to you to be able to succeed at getting in better shape.
 
Well my sister eats junky and got outta the hospital so she's been ordering whatever my sister feels like.

Breakfast: 250 cal

1 English Muffin 150 cal
1 TBS Peanut Butter 100 cal

Lunch: 550 cal

1 C Grilled chicken 200 cal
2 TBS Sour Cream 125 cal
1 thing of cheese 100 cal
1 Pear 100 cal
1 Thing of carrots 25 cal

Snack: 120 cal
1 Bit of Gummi Savers 120 cal

Total: 920 so far...so I have about 800 to fool with for dinner. Which will add up :(. UGH.

Oh and so far I've had 20 oz of water. I'll amp it up to 40 before dinner and to 60 after dinner.

My husband weighs 269. He is using Sparkpeople. He was really surprised when he saw how much he could eat in a day and still be in a healthy range. Plus it calculates the calories, fat, protein, and carbs for you. All you have to do is tell the site what you ate and how much.

He knows exactly how much calories he can have in a day and he knows how much he needs to burn. He still has the occassional McDonalds and other restaurants.

is free. . .it allows you to account for anything you eat really, even prepackaged foods like hot pockets as long as you have the 'nutritional info', it's really easy to use . . and did I mention it's free!

No . .I don't own stock in sparkpeople . . :) I just really like their program!

Anyways!! Keep up the good work. . .you CAN do whatever you want. . .just stick with it. . .
 
I can't even remember what I ate today. All i know is that it's the first time I've hit 3000 cal. in a couple of weeks.

Should I punish myself? I feel like crap to be honest. Maybe its because it's the end of the month...I've been between 233-236 and I started at 238-242. I don't think I'm doing enough. I eat more fruits, a lot more actually...but they don't fill me up like a good old craving does.

My goal was 2 lb a week and I'm doing it so far...but I just feel like I should be doing more.

I'm at my dad's and he has an exercise bike and it's a bitch to work out on. I can only go on it for 15 minutes max. It's very old so I don't know how many calories I'm burning. I'm assuming a hundred or so. Plus they make ALL of this great tasting food..!!

Maybe I'm eating too much fruit because I don't crave it anymore. I'm craving the bad stuff. I kinda force myself to eat fruit now because I have to eat lunch at school at eleven and dinner is at six...and I can't last on a banana from three til six. And they have this "can't eat a lot before dinner" rule...which I'm not digging. Maybe I should snack more after school (a variety though...) so I am STEADILY "full", not mountains where I can eat a ton more if I wait a few hours.

UGH.
 
Hey RDubb, it's just one day!!! Pick back up tomorrow, and who knows, maybe this day will help push you into more weight loss. You are meeting your goal that you have set and that's awesome!!

Have you thought about a healthy snack bar or something to help get you through your 3-6pm time frame?

I do hope you find your perfect eating time. Maybe play around with the things you eat and at what times.

Maybe a package or raisins or something else you can slip into your bag and eat around 2pm so that you don't get so hungry and then want to pig out before dinner.

I have found that there are times when I eat really badly just before dinner and am not full for dinner, then I eat anyways so no one will know.. bad bad bad for me! I am trying NOT to do this and haven't done it in weeks. (Just to qualify, I get sick (nauseas) when I wait to long to eat and sometimes I have to eat something because dinner isn't ready, but instead of something small, I eat a lot and then eat dinner to hide it). :(
 
awwww, a date at McDonald's. That's cute. And 700 calories is good from McDonald's sheesh! Don't beat yourself up over that. And you still went on a date, so that's good too, right?
 
2 lbs a week is just fine, amigo. And if you can only go 15 minutes at a time... go twice, or three times. Just "get bored enough to work out", if you have to.
Also, you might need to explain to your dad exactly what you are trying to do, or point out that "It's just a couple of pieces of fruit, it's not a meal before dinner" if he is anything like my dad was. Well, if he's like my dad, it won't work, but you still have to try, man.
Keep up the good work! See if they'll make some salad for the dinner table, and fill up on that after a serving of "normal" food. Anything you can do will help you accomplish your goals.
 
Today I had a cup of outmeal, a piece of toast, and 1 servings of chocolate milk and orange juice. That's about six hundred cal I'm assuming.

Lunch I had a BIG one, some mexican food and that totaled about 1000-1200 at least. Good thing is that I feel full so I think I'll just snack on a few fruits until I go to bed.

Then exercise. :-\
 
If your oatmeal wasn't covered with all sorts of sugar, honey, or milk, then you are probably about right on guesstimating 600 cal for breakfast.
I usually try to overestimate calories to the next 50 or 100, just to keep things simple. So if I eat 515 calories, I'll usually estimate 550 or even 600, unless I know I have already done that a couple of times in the day. And in the grand scheme of things, dropping 15 calories for simpler recordkeeping doesn't really matter.

Oh and I see some definition in my legs thanks to the walking!

I'm almost 25% completed with my goal. I can do this! And you all can too. :)

The exercising is doing just dandy. I was doing a half assed diet and exercise thing at my dad's but I'm at my mother's now. I have this choir thing to do...and I gotta rehearse all day tomorrow (no super bowl :() and all day monday until monday night (the concert). I get to miss school though which is cool stuff.

Just did my 350 cal!! :) didn't eat much today; not that hungry (probably because of the overeating at mi fajas :)).
 
Update:

Was in Ames for a statewide choir festival (a university town). I think I maintained around 2k a day which isn't bad...and I weighed in just now when I got home and it said 233.4. So I'm doin' good. I'll update my ticker next Monday though :).
 
2k calories is a very maintainable level of food, man. Keep up the good work! I'm interested in seeing what the Monday weigh in brought you, so hurry up and post it! :p

Ugh...I had that choir thing so I didn't have a scale...and all that singing and walking in the cold caused me to come down with...a cold :(. So I've been resting a lot and my "diet" plan is just to eat a lot of fruits and just a little bit of everything so I can get better and start exercising again.

I will weigh in on monday. I'm shooting for 230 but I doubt that's possible when I can't even work out :).
 
I hit 230.8 this morning!

I haven't been exercising because I came down with Strep Throat...but I've been drinking a lot of water and just...stay motivated...I even got a few comments today like "R.J. you look like ya lost fifteen pounds" I'm like "nah..ten :)" I'm going to my dad's tomorrow as well so I can get some time on the bike if I am feeling better.

I'll write what I ate tomorrow too. Sorry for being absent ^_^.
