Well not the best of days... I woke up late today and in running out the door I forgot my food. Picked up my mother and was like I NEED STARBUCKS! She also insisted on grabbing a breakfast sandwich at a fast food place. Grr... was not prepared for this but I was hungry and knew I'd be paying the price of loads of calories/fat. So I got what she got(Bacon, Egg, Cheese Biscuit..but I made her take my bacon, but I knew the biscut was gonna kill me) This was 9am, then didn't eat anything until 6pm because my sister lives very far away and while we were visiting for the day she never offered anything to eat as my mother and I's stomachs continued to growl louder and louder and her and her husband ate in front of us. Drove the 3 hours back to my moms and ended up eating what my mothers boyfriend made... Fried chicken and potato wedges from the deli. But made good choices there by swapping things like ketchup instead of the full fat sour cream they were using. And when my mom asked if I wanted a cocktail with dinner I said no, gotta get my water in.

Ok, quick update. Today I'm going to try to limit my sodium so I can have a more favorable weigh in tomorrow...which means none of my microwaved dinners/lunches today. Kinda sucks when your stove has been off for a year and a half now and all you have to cook with is a microwave...really need to make my slum-lord(landlord) take action on that damn thing. Also a mini challenge I've set for myself is to workout tonight for 2HRS. I still need 1HR to complete this weeks worth of exercise anyways so may as well up it.

Ah, the low salt trick. That's my strategy to improve the weekly number as well.

Noticed on the NY challenge forum that you are trying to squeeze in more protein. I'm not much of a meat eater and beans are tiresome so I use whey protein powder and make fruity jamba juice style shakes (without the sugar or juice - make mine w/ frozen fruit & soy milk). Yogurt is a great source of protein too, just watch the sugar. The more options the better!

Anywho...I know I said I wasn't gonna have any microwaved meals but I caved tonight after the gym and made a Healthy Choice Fresh Mixer Pasta thingy... The steak and portobello flavor...wasn't bad.. had to add pepper, was pretty bland like all "diet" labled food is. And I got in a great 2HR workout tonight. I am so sore already so Im not looking forward to how Im gonna feel tomorrow. And if we get the 6inches they are calling for tonight, shoveling tomorrow will not be fun.

Also, watched Confessions of a Reality Loser about BL3 Winner Erik...Thought it was going to be different. He and his family pretty much blamed gaining most of the weight back because Biggest Loser didn't invite him to be involved in new seasons. Well I follow several ex BL contestants on Twitter and they all get involved with eachother, go to races together ect... It seems to me after he won he isolated himself from everyone. Never once did he say I stayed in contact with this person from my season and we go and do this and this together. I think this painted him in a much worse light than he thought the Biggest Loser Where Are They Now depicted him. Oh well, thats my $.02. :)

I like the smoothies b/c they pull triple duty: 1-2 servings of fruit, protein AND calcium. No simpler way to get that combo. If I'm making it with frozen strawberries or bananas I tend to use chocolate. Prefer vanilla for blueberries, raspberries and peaches. I just grab the frozen unsweetened fruit outta the dessert aisle at Walmart (find it's cheaper than the organic stores)...or the clubs if u like to buy in bulk. There are recipes online. Cheers! Ok so for the weigh in today I was down 2lbs! :) And I discovered a new love for sushi today. Never thought I would like it cuz I tend to hate rice, but it wasn't that bad.

Bought a new blender today, a small one like the Magic Bullet but it's called something else. Made my first smoothie but didn't drink it yet. Have it chillin out in the fridge cuz I don't have a freezer so it wasn't cold. Going to need to go to the grocery store to get some frozen fruit (of course it will thaw in my fridge but thats fine). Maybe pick up some vanilla flavored protein powder too cuz blueberries are on sale so I bought a bunch of those. Didn't get any fruit in today, will up it tomorrow. I'm on a big sushi kick :). Knowing it's not that bad for you is awesome...well some are bad for you... tons of cream cheese rolls in the case today(I buy it from Festical Foods Grocery Store)... but I only choose California and Veggie rolls cuz I know the counts in those.

MMM, I love sushi! Just tried my first raw stuff a few months ago. amazing... now I want some, lol!
Spark recipes.com has good smoothie recipes; I've picked up quite a few on there. I have a bullet to, and it does a TREMENDOUS job at mixing that stuff up. One of the greatest protein shakes I've ever made, liked, and continued to make is chocolate protein in skim milk with a serving of instant coffee crystals thrown in :) I'm not a big coffee fan, but love the taste of the sweet coffee drinks ya can get at like starbucks and stuff, and this was nearly identical, for a quarter of the calories.
You are doing absolutely amazing on your diet... I wish mine could look half as good!
 
Jess the coffee thing sounds right up my alley! I love coffee, deffiently going to have to give that a try. Ended up having to throw out the previsouly made smoothie...this morning it looked curddled...ew. So I made a straw, mango, banana, choc protein one now.. its pretty good. I only used 1/4 scoop protein and it still has a really stong chocolate flavor so think im deffiently going to buy vanilla powder.
As for the sushi, I've decided to make it my "fast food", for when I don't want to cook or take time putting together a sandwich or something. I ususally buy 2-12 piece trays at a time and that gets me at least 2-3 meals. Haven't tried the raw fish ones yet where its just the slice of fish on top. Looks strange cuz I thought the fish had to be cut thinner than what it is on these. Oh well. Maybe I'll go pick some more up tonight and try to feel adventerous. Going to a friends house tonight to watch BL and then talked her into going to the gym with me. Shes a skinny teeny tiny little thing. And can go forever on the cross trainer(an hour last time she went with me). Where as I last about 5 minutes and Im in a pool of sweat and my heart feels like its going to burst out of my chest. Well I'll give you an update later tonight on foods. TTYL
 
That coffee smoothie sounds great! I hafta try that one.

Chef, there's non-flavored all natural (no artificial sweeteners/additives etc) protein powder out there too. I chucked my vanilla and went that route. Well done on making sushi your meal on the go. That's gotta be trading up!
 
Belly thanks for the suggestion on powders, didn't get to check any out today, but hopefully soon. Calorie-wise sushi has been really paying off, and I don't feel like a slug after I eat which is awesome. Price wise though, I'm paying $5.50 for a tray of 12 pieces. Not bad I think. Never been to an actual sushi restaurant so don't know how these compare to restaurant prices. Anyways, BL was awesome tonight, I was yellin at my tv haha. My friend however ended up ugh... well... getting drunk. I'm at her house, I brought some Subway over and she has a beer with her sub. I'm thinking ok, well the shows like 2 hours plus I gotta do lauandry at her house, it'll wear off. She had 5 beers while I was there! When she opened #3 I'm like sooo guess your not going to the gym with me tonight huh... she was like crap! I forgot we were going!.... Why did you think I was here?! :) Oh well, so tonight I got home and did 30 min on my AB Circle Pro. It wasn't the workout I wanted but hey, movement is movement right? Talk to you all later.
