If it's important you will find a way, if it's not you will find an excuse.

Finished up at the conference, learned lots but also have so many more questions. Lol!

I think I need to try cross fit. It sounds awesome. There is a gym in town that has highly certified trainers and amazing clients with really cool results. They did some sessions on squat mechanics and the truths and myths of strength training at the conference. I think I am going to set up an appointment to check it out. It sounds expensive, but worth it for the quality and safety they provide.

My running friend and I are going to do the marathon training program offered at a local running club. I am looking forward to learning more about the long distance training and how it is different from the half marathon training.
If I can shake this stupid cold that has been hanging around our family for way too long, I need to get a plan together to redevelop my base running fitness. I am going to start slow and build up to 3 runs per week (once marathon training starts we work up to 4 days per week).
Time to find my running resources. :)

Just stopping in to say hi to a fellow runner! I need to find a good running buddy, I'd love to do a marathon one day but I'm the only slow long-distance runner I know. It's great that you've got someone to do these fun things with!

Thanks oaks! I'm really slow too. I tell people I like to get my money's worth. Lol! (I golf the same way! High score wins.)

Last year I thought a half marathon was crazy and unattainable, now I've done 2. The full still feels cray and unattainable. We have a plan b to either switch to the half marathon or to walk the full if we need to, so that makes it feel a little easier and less crazy. Either way, we will learn lots during the process and our goal is just to have fun while being active.
I feel very lucky to have found a friend who is willing to go slow with me and try these crazy things. :)

Ran for 30 minutes straight tonight as part of my resolution run training program. Went by heart rate and I had to go slower than I thought I should, but it felt really easy and good. Get to do 30 minutes of strength training tomorrow. I might try getting up early to do it. I am normally a lunch tome or late night workout person. We'll see how it goes.

Once you start with the half marathons everyone starts asking about when you're doing a full! I'm not sure if I would ever do it.... That training commitment, man, it's nuts. Run eat sleep repeat.

Lol. We have a nice easy training plan. The Saturday long runs get to be a little long but the other run days aren't bad. I find the training commitment keeps me motivated to workout and eat healthy. I like the half marathon distance but I would like to do one full marathon just to say I did it.
