I need help losing weight big time

Ive always been a bit fat, and even if i work out it never seems to go away i just gain muscle, i was a wrestler in highschool but now that im in college I have been stuck doing tons of work and no real gym to go to. I do go to martial arts 3 times a week but it dosent seem to be helping me lose weight even though i work really hard, and I regulate my calorie intake every day so it dosent seem to be that eighter, does anyone have any good fat burning techniques or ideas. thank you very much
 
well post your diet and your eating times up and we will try and help, remember to put in any alcohol consumption in as well.
That and start running or walking in the mornings before breakfast.
 
Yeah give us your height, weight and diet. I am sure we can all figure out a good routine and eating plan for you that will work. thankfully you seem motivated to do something to make yourself happy and really thats the most important thing.
 
personal stats and diet

Height: 6'1-6'2 around there
Weight: 220 last i checked but it jumps up and down a lot
Diet: (yea time to laugh)
Weekdays: breakfast-once or twice a week-2 cups of coffe and a wheat dounut
Lunch- usually a whitebread sub with mayo and roastbeef and tomato and an orange or banana on the side (im in college its about all there is to eat hehe)
Dinner- usually a potatobread sanwhich with same as lunch things or chicken burger if they have finished with and orange or banana and 3 times a month icecream
Weekend: Breakfast - Rare if ever
Lunch - Sometimes ill grab a sandwhich but mostly i skip
Dinner - A sandwhich and if something is worth eating hot ill grab that too

Drinks- 2-4 cups of soda, 1 or 2 cups of orange juice 3 cups of milk or chocolte milk a day
 
ok your diet is pretty crap. you should be looking to have 5 medium meals a day. If you don't get a good enough calories into you, your body will just store any fat it can as it thinks that you are starving it.
ok don't skip breakfast. Breaksfast is probably the most important meal of the day. Eat more fruit/veg if you can move away from the processed meats and white rolls that you are having for lunch. Instead make your own with wholegrain breads and chicken breats or lean beef. Also try and make some brown rice dishes.
Other then that do some low intensity exercise in the mornings before brekkie, brisk walk or running, as it will help hit your fat reserves and you don't have to be in a gym. Do however try and join a gym or get some weights. As lean muscle mass requires more calories to sustain itself so can aid in weight loss, aswel as giving your body a better shape
 
hmmm a couple problems i have and a few things i will do

1) i have no money whatsoever so i can only get whats given to me on my mealplan there are hot foods and i can try to sort through them and get better stuff, but they are all fried, everything not a sandwhich is fried which is a huge turnoff for me, also i can maybe do 4 meals a day but 5 will be impossible but thats not huge, ill do the walk or run before breakfast which im about to do for today actually then ill grab breakfast, ill grab a lot more fruit cuz i love it and i got tons of it to grab for free, and the gym thing is a deff no until atleast the summer but ill try and scrap money together to join one then, thanx so far and if anyone else has ideas please share
 
Okay well yeah your diet is horrible and the reason your not losing weight ha. But thats okay, cause you will see quick changes when you switch to a good diet.

You should be taking in roughly 2300 calories a day to lose weight. The sodas and chocolate milk half to go. Milk should be skim and white. Whole grains only, stop with the white bread, white sugar..its all bad. The problem with your diet is you aren't getting any real food and are taking in tons and tons of sugar.

You need to get cardio 5 days a week and strength training full body 3 days a week to start off with.

But also, i know what it is like to lose weight on a budget, basically if you want to make it work you can. Veggies, wheat bread and fruit are cheap as hell. If you really without a doubt just cant ever eat food that isn't given to you then work with it. If its fried, then take off all the skin. If its really important to you then you will sacrifice some of those fun things to be in better shape.

ye sorry missed the soda's part ditch them and drink plenty of water.
If you are going to spend money on food my first thing would be oatmeal( i think is what yous call porridge, i think it is quaker oats and milk/water?) made with milk as it is quite cheap but it is extremly good and will give you energy throughout the day. also take soem of fruit to have as snacks through out the day to help keep your metabolism up.
If you are going to scrape together some money to join a gym, don't. spend it on buying food for a clean diet instead, it would be better for you in the long stead, instead of going to the gym gets some cheaps weights and a pull up bar and do a home routine to build muscle, as you can do walking and running for cardio.
 
im back

i just got back from a 40 min run and a breakfast of a banana, and orange, a bowl of cherrios and a big bowl of mixed fruit and two glasses of water, and yes its called oatmeal here too and i can grab that free too next time, now that ive gotten through one morning the trick is to do it every day, i really am gonan try, but i already feel so much better just from that long run and healty breakfast, then i got martial arts later yay
 
o and btwi hate hate hate fried food, thats actually probibly my main problem because i dont eat any of the fried crap they serve us, feel free to im me, email me or leave more messages on thread ill be watching all day other then martial arts, im not attached to anything i eat, i mostly eat because ill forget or something, but i will really try to maintain healthy eating habits say what instead of white grab skim instead of chocolate and such as, i dunno if its a good or bad thing but im actually disgusted by brownies from my truly herendious eating when i was younger. ugh those were pretty bad eating days, also i started a calorie dier ill post it a few days so u can crituque and help me improve although i already have a good idea about what to change

Holy Crap!

I stuffed myself like crazy trying to add calories to my diet today and i still couldnt get anywhere near what i need, here is my journal so far today, ill try to grab more food and eighter bike or run more, sorry for crap quality but its the only way i can show my journal
