I need encouragement/motivation

if I weigh 132lbs or less tomorrow morning I am going to treat myself to 2 dvd's. I like to chose something such as dvds, music or clothes as motivation/reward instead of cake! hehe. I am going to try to not be too dissappointed if there is no weight loss though, because it could be linked to it being this TOM.

I am now mostly concerned about how fat and flabby my stomach is in comparison to the rest of my body. At the gym i struggle with abdnominal exercises as i seem to, for example, use my neck and shoulders to 'crunch' instead of pulling myself up by the abs, as maybe they are not strong enough? As i consequence I do not pull myself up far enough, and end up hurting my neck/feeling sick... Does anyone have any tips for me here?

*Excited and scared about tomorrows weigh in* - im so used to weighing myself a few times every day that I think it is really doing me good, to weigh myself only once a week at the same time.

Sounds like you've been doing great lately! I'd recommend skipping the crunches, at least for a while. If you want to work your midsection, do some rotational exercises like a woodchop combined with stabilization exercises like planks and ball rollouts. I think the crunch is the most overrated exercise on the planet and almost never do it. You might also want to throw in a couple exercises like mountain climbers and spiderman climbs for a really good overall core workout.

Hope that helps.

Yeah Thanx Matt, that really does help!
I shall try doing some of these abdominal excersises this week!

I used the scales at the gym to measure my body weight, height and body fat.
According to the machine I am 20.4% body fat - which is supposed to be good for a female I think?
Does anybody know how accurate these machines are?

I have no idea how accurate they are, but 18% is considered the min. healthy body fat for a female unless you're a competitive athlete.

Another loss this week but not quite as much as planned..
I am now 131.2lbs.
I have bought 2 new dresses for my holidays though, that make me feel good about my body :)

When I feel down about only losing 1lb of weight in a week - pick up a can of baked beans and think about how you have lost more than that amount of weight off your body. It really helps me to feel good about my efforts :).

131.8lbs this week - which means ive actually gained 0.5lbs.. annoying! but maybe it is partially to do with muscle gain - heres to hoping!
I AM going to lose this week... with a new target of 129.5lbs before I go on holiday!!
