The subject of sabotage is one that seems to repeat over and over...
Sometimes I wonder if its just because people aren't comfortable when someone is no longer the "fat friend". Whatever, you do this for you and its nobody's business.
I like that I'm losing, but I've gone up and down so many times... I always hate it when someone says " wow, how much have you lost so far?"
None of your F'ing business!
Sorry for ranting...
Sorry for not coming over as much either, I've been kinda busy lately.
I have not experienced this at all. Everyone that I have told has been incredibly supportive (so far). My coworkers all know, the lady who cleans our office on the weekends checks in to see how I'm progressing, and on weigh-in days I post my progress on facebook for my friends to see.
I don't have any problem sharing my process and progress with others, and I can't imagine anyone trying to sabotage me (other than myself).
However...
I do remember in my youth what it was like to be the "fat friend". Heck, one group of girls I used to hang out with even replaced me with another fat guy when I moved on from them.
I can imagine people not wanting you to leave the nice little box they have fit you into. Making big lifestyle changes can perhaps make others uncomfortable.
As for this forum, I agree that it is an incredibly useful place.
It's one thing to get compliments from your friends, but the support we get from our peers here is invaluable. There is stuff that only people who are going through the same process we are can really, truly understand. I get the kind of support and understanding here that I just can't get anywhere else. Other people just say "wow, that's great" - you folks here
know what each success, milestone, and stumble really means.
