I don't know where to start

I stopped at the jewellery counter in the supermarket this morning because they were having a sale and I have recently had my ears re-pierced. I can take these studs out on November 25th and put others in, but I can't wear danglies or very heavy ones for another 6 months. I got £20 worth of hypoallergenic for £9.50 and when I got talking to the young sales assistant she gave me a free bottle of piercing cleaner. So I think I did very well.:hurray:

We couldn't leave our old lab to go on holiday because she suffered from separation anxiety (just like kids aren't they?) so now she has slipped her moorings and we are feeling a bit down we have decided to look ahead and plan a nice holiday for this time next year. We don't want to go overseas because we both traveled in our jobs. My husband was a sailor and I worked overseas quite a bit as a nurse. We love Scotland particularly at this time of year. We wouldn't enjoy going now because for us, planning and looking forward to a holiday is 50% of the enjoyment. We have decided to go on a luxury coach (bus) tour next autumn. The coach has air con, a loo, DVD player. tea/coffee dispensers and reclining seats. We stay at luxury hotels and our every needs are catered for. So I have an added incentive to shift the flab

Please take me with you!!!!!!!!!!!!! :smilielol5:

lol

Sounds just wonderful. Enjoy the planning!

Have A Goal Reachin' Friday! :waving:

Danglies and luxury in your future are well deserved. A positive attitude and determination are all you need no matter what your goals may be. Sorry about your sweet puppy. Two of ours are getting on and the new addition is a pain in the butt. C'est la vie!

Thanks everyone.
Do you know, I doubt I will ever have butter again, and this is from the gal who could have been called the Butter Queen... I loved it. I am so used to bread without butter that I would find it a bit greasy and not tasting so nice if I used it again.
This morning we both go for our flu shots and because I was 65 in May I also get an anti pneumonia one... deep joy

The last time I got the flu shot I ended up with the flu, so I'm avoiding it this year. I understand that sometimes they just can't predict which strain will go epidemic but I'll take my chances, I've only had it twice in 36 years. Fingers crossed. Enjoy the earrings! I've had mine pierced since I was an infant and I rarely wear anything in them. I'm surprised they havn't closed up.

I have a flu shot every year Polly & the Pneumonia shot every 5 after having the flu, with Pneumonia 2 years in a row. I rarely even get a cold any more! *touch wood* xoC

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband had the second injection into his eye yesterday and there is a huge improvement. More than was to be expected and the famous 'they' have stopped preparing him for being blind. If I was so inclined I would have got drunk last night I am so relieved. Being a nurse has been no help at all because I knew how serious the problem was.

The general population of our city will be mighty relieved with this next bit... he is cleared to drive again. I am so nervous driving our big car that it takes 3 times as long for me to take us anywhere because i avoid busy roads and major junctions.

Will write more after today because I have loads of e mails to send but I wanted you all to be the first to know

Thank you all for your good wishes, it means such a lot. The good news is that I have lost another 2lbs I have now lost over 28lbs with I'm ashamed to say, another 28 needing to go.

When I went for my flu injection they found out that my BP was a bit on the high side... I'm not surprised. I was nose to needle with a hypodermic. Anyway, I have to see a doctor on the 16th. With my luck just lately, goodness alone knows what will happen. I'm looking on it as an opportunity nip something in the bud before I have a coronary or a stroke further on down the line

Yay for another 2 lbs gone! "A bit" on the high side may well be the presence of the needle so don´t worry about it :) In any case you´ve been making changes to better your body that will influence your BP as much as everything else.

Hopefully its just a bit of white coat syndrome, which I get. My blood pressure is only high when someone is checking it!! Great news on the 28 lbs dropped!! Congratulations!!!

I was struggling with lifting the heavy bags into my car boot at the supermarket last evening. There was a gorgeous looking young man, tall dark and handsome, at the next car and he offered to load my groceries for me. I thought 'Ooo Poll, you've still got it love. Well hidden but there's hope' When he finished, I thanked him profusely and he replied 'It was no trouble, my granny has difficulty too' :rotflmao: When I told my husband he didn't stop laughing for the rest of the evening.

Oh Polly, that is SO funny. The other day I bought some fancy boxes for putting gifts or whatever in & the youngish woman asked me if I wanted her to try to fit them inside one another, so it didn't look silly carrying them to my car. I said "Why? I don't care?" & she said "If I saw you I would offer to help" & I said "Why? Because I have grey hair?" to which she replied "no, because you would look silly". I think you & I both don't mind a laugh at our own expense. Tell that husband of yours he's even cheekier than mine! xoC

:D Yay for helpful handsome men, whatever their motivation! And more yay for being able to laugh at yourself ;)

I can’t tell you what a miserable couple of weeks it has been waiting for this medical. It started off as just my pneumonia injection and a blood pressure test. Then they decided to give me the works. I hardly slept last night
Anyway, I presented myself sharp at 10am expecting the worst. It went very well. I am 65 and over weight but my BP was only 130 over 80. The reading for someone half my age. The young doctor looked surprised so I said ‘Now don’t go spoiling things by doing it again will you’ And we had a laugh. My fixtures and fittings i.e. my innards are all behaving themselves, but my knees and ankles still swell, but not as much as they did before I lost so much weight. My pal told me, that her injection hurt like billyo, but to be honest I hardly felt a thing.
I shall be so glad to see the end of this year, the past few months have been very worrying. We’re not out of the woods yet with my husband’s eye, but it continues to improve and he has his final interocular injection a week next Friday and then it’s a wait until New Year’s Eve to get the final assessment..
