I don't know where to start

We go away on our mini holiday (5days) a week today... The weather forecast is a huge drop in temperature, frost and snowo_O To be honest, it doesn't really bother us we are fortunate in being able to enjoy ourselves whatever the weather

At work I was very organized but I'm a real feather-brain in my private life. Yesterday morning my husband 'took me in hand' as it were. I have been religiously putting clothes and shoes in the spare room ready for packing for this 5 day break. He said 'Bloody Hell Polly, I didn't pack this much for 12 months at sea' I have to admit, that after he had finished I have a nicely packed case and know exactly where everything is!
People are so nice aren't they? We were going to book a taxi to take us to the coach park because there is no parking there for private cars. Our neighbours have been so good... One is taking us to the coach park, another keeping an eye on the house and putting the recycling bin back after it is emptied on Thursday. Another is watching out for any parcels and yet another will be collecting us when we get back, not to mention getting any shopping in we will need. We have everyone's mobile (cell phone) number and we feel like 2 dithery old fossils who need watching!
Our son was killed in a climbing accident, and though it is a few years ago now, his old friends still keep in touch. One of them has given us a gizmo which automatically switches lights on in the house to give the impression that someone is in.

People really are kind, most of the time. Especially to folks they've known all their lives and who've always been nice to everyone themselves. Have fun!

Exactly what LaMa said. People are mostly kind & you deserve as much kindness as you seem to have in you. How lovely you & your neighbours seem! :beating: xo Cate

Yes agree. There's good in everyone if you look for it.I really am disorganized though, and have no sense of direction either . I managed to get lost on my way home from the supermarket last summer. There were road works in town, so I took a roundabout way home. My husband rang me after a hour asked where I was 'I don't know' I replied, 'the road has run out and there's just fields all around me' 'Turn around' he screamed 'and get to the nearest village. Find out what it's called and ring me back I'll guide you home'
He describes me thus: 'Polly couldn't find her ass with an atlas' :rotflmao:

Oh Polly, that is sooo funny. I actually did laugh out loud! I thought I had a lousy sense of direction!

I managed to get lost on my way home from the supermarket last summer.
That reminds me of a coworker who travels from Mass to MI a couple times a year and goes through Canada. With a GPS, she still takes a right when she crosses into Canada... And it takes her a couple hours to figure it out.

Hello. I'm 'Mr' Polly.

Polly doesn't want anybody to think she has dropped off the forum or is ignoring them. She is in hospital. The night we came back from holiday she had a really bad attack of gallstone pain which the on call doctor diagnosed as a coronary. Although in a great deal of pain she verbally flattened him! And X rays proved her diagnosis right.

She is on a medical ward and the consultant has asked her if she would try an experiment. Basically, it is a regime of apple juice and various other things which will soften the stones and they will pass out of her body. Poll loves trying out new things so has had a go. She will be back home, hopefully less her gallstones, next Monday (14th) We had a nice holiday and this has come as a shock

:eek2: Thanks Mr Polly! Poor Poll, I hope she feels better soon... I´m glad it came at the end of your trip though, so she at least had some fun leading up to the not-fun-at-all stuff. Hugs galore Polly, hope to have you back here soon!

Thank you very much for letting us know 'Mr Polly'. That would have been such a shock. I'm glad Polly gave the doctor what for! I can almost hear her doing it! Please give her our love & hope they pass soon. I'm glad you got to have a lovely holiday. Cheers, Cate

Polly's hubby if you read this- just ignore the spam post above. It has been reported xo
