You know? It really is amazing what a great pillar of support this site is. I would NEVER have imagined a simple forum like this able to keep my mind on track as well as it does. I guess with the general anonymity that the internet provides, people are able to open up a little more, and all of the stories come out about people going through the same crap you're going through.

Someone buy the webserver some new hampsters. I'm not going back to prison.

Yep James - You got it. ;)

It really gets me upset when it happens at night bc I use this place to keep my mind off food!

I'm a recovering emotional eater and night time was always my hide/pig out time.

When I feel those urges, it's freakin' awesome to come here and chat - work on challenges - goof off - etc..

I forget about wanting to eat to fill voids in my life and something or someone always inspires me here.

Kill the smilies - they've clearly been the cause of the site deterioration...

I sorta agree with this one. I am all for a few basic smilies but some of the new ones are taking it a bit far!!

Just my opinion though don't kill me all you smilie fans!! I like a few of them too and have used them in my posts.

i just grabbed one of the more popular packages off of the vbulletin website ... figured it would be enough to keep everyone happy. personally, i hate them and think it should just be the basics ... but, i'm here to please u guys :)

um, that sounded bad ;) just kidding!!!

I love the smilies, I dont' use them often, but its nice to know they are there!!

I want an Anatomy section!

A section dedicated to asking/answering questions on how the body functions!

I think its both relevant and would be beneficial to the forum!

Haha - asking Steve to place a section for it in his forum made me think about asking y'all for one here.

Oh, you meant on my forum when you said that.

I thought you meant on my actual website.

That's something entirely different.... I could see some usefulness to something like this being on this or any forum for that matter. Not sure many 'regular' members are interested in the complexities of the sciences dealing with the body.... but there certainly are a few times when someone asks questions that would be suited for a sub-forum such as this.

Yes!

I think it would fit into the scheme of things very well!
It might open up new discussion for people to have a chance to ask questions they maybe always wanted to ask.

Its a good chance for everyone to learn something new! :)

Based on what i've seen over the past year and a half -I wouldn't see a lot of use for it - people just don't ask those types of questions..however a forum dedicated to the benefits of diet pills and a 1000 calorie diet.. now you'd have a best seller :D

hahhaha, so true!

the sciences of the body are more for forums like Lyle McDonald's and the like. Where there are a lot of professionals who actually care about that sort of stuff.

Maybe thats because they have no place to ask them.

I still think people would find it interesting and would use it. Likely not as much as some of the other sections, but, I'm sure curious minds would use it.

Anyway, I don't feel I'm going to be getting anywhere with this so I'll just forfeit my suggestion for now.

It's something I'd consider on my forum... but I'm still leery about it as it wouldn't suit my target audience. If I put it on there, it would be for the simple fact that I'm a nerd and like discussing the complexities of it all. If people don't like it, they don't have to read it.... that is true. I'm not completely tossing the idea out for my forum.

We regularly see threads which are in the wrong section. I can only think that they are started by people that do not understand how to keep to the structure. These threads are irritating. We get "club" items and "challenges" that never have been and never will be appropriate for that. It is perfectly reasonable that these should be moved by moderators to the correct section.

If there was a simple button to use to flag these up - like we have to alert people to spam - I am sure that many people would use it. That way we are not expecting moderators to read every posting made.

We try to catch those threads that are clearlyin the wrong space but there's nothing wrong with using the report post feature to flag that... Report post doesn't give a person bad reputation or any kind of infraction - it's just raises a flag to a moderator that something in a post that needs attention

but good point..
