How to make this forum better?

what does that give you? you're welcome to create a club to that effect? but what does such a segregated section that applies to probably 10 percent of the membership bring?

NB's suggestion of dumping the new mom's section I think is a good one because that applies to very little of the forum population.
 
Yea,i agree Mal, I think thats where I was getting w/ cerella asking for a single parent section. If new moms or single parents have an issue to discuss, they can open a thread in the "off topic" section, as opposed to a whole section just for that.
 
The rep quota - why do we even have one...what does it matter if we give out so much rep within 24 hrs or to one person ???
 
I think we should have a compliment your moderators and administrators forum:) Thanks for all your work guys, cause it makes mine a lot easier!! I will pass on the single mom's sub-forum idea to Sean. He could actually use the extra work...but don't tell him I said that.
 
I thought we decided we didn't want the subforum that less forums was better than more -it'd probably be better to dump the new mom's forum as well...

and combine liposuction and weight loss surgery
and combine weight loss groups and clubs
 
Here is what I would do.

Combine club/club challenges
X out New Moms
X out Lipo/surgical
Cohens into WL Programs

Maybe add something like running/biking ... change harsh truth to advanced wl discussion (?)

No - they were seperated for a reason -keep the challenges by themselves but move groups into clubs since there's no difference.


Running/biking are exercise - we've already got that covered

and just dump harsh truth since that's covered everywhere else
 
Yea, I second that Mal...the club challenges section is very needed. Before they were seperated "the club" section was just too messy.
 
Considering that some forums literally have posts from 2006 as the third message, it seems like consolidation is necessary. Some of the forums are just too slow. When a visitor comes to the site at first, and they see the third post is from 2 years ago, they don't think the site is very active and they would move on their merry way. It would be fun if there was a place where you create a post and you get 20 replies in a few days like some other sites. Here, that only seems to happen in the diaries forum. But I love it here so I'm not trying to complain :rolleyes: (I love this emoticon..my favorite).
 
Not sure if its been mentioned yet but being able to post without automatically being subscribed to the topic and sent an email when someone else replies would be a neat option to have.

What in the heck is wrong with the forum server?

What a pain...lol

First time the forum loaded for me...Been tryin' off/on all day since 9AM..

I have run forums on invision and proboards..In the admin section there are boxes to check/uncheck for lagging and server problems.

Does this board have anything like that?

Also, when you go to the admin main support forum they can sometimes give you codes to place in headers/footers to help the server perform better.

Hope the kinks will get worked out soon!

Drivin' me nuts!
