I get about 7.5 hours each night... Fewer than 6, or more than 9 and I feel like crap!
Buckey Fuller used "Dymaxion Sleep," which is a polyphasic style of sleeping (as opposed to one 8-hour sleep session), in-which you sleep for 30 minutes every 6 hours. In this way, you only sleep for 2 hours each day!
Steve Fossett (one of my heroes) used polyphasic sleeping when he flew around the world... He only napped in 5-minute intervals!
I am fascinated with this stuff as well, because I feel as though we literally sleep away 1/3 or more of our lives!!!
I have often wondered if weight lifting and polyphasic sleep would mix... I have never been able to find a study, or more information in this area, but I know that our military has been secretly studying this stuff for ages.
