How do you start a diary?

Well...did great running wise! Beat my former time! HOWEVER, I might have inflammed a tendon in my leg...sigh. Don't want to skip exercise...will try to be careful the next few days! I know I'm capable of running endurance wise but physically...seems like it can sometimes break down the body if have muscle imbalances or biomechanical issues. Anyway, today was decent. Did some school stuff...two tests this week. Am trying to remain focused!!
Eats:
cereal and milk
yogurt
bread and pb
snacks: 2 cheese wedges, 2 large oranges, 8 triscuits
dinner: bread, pb, 2 cheese wedges (in place of feta), plain sweet potato
lovely salad
Ate dinner super early but the gigantic salad (no creams) filled me up w/ all its fiber! =)
Monday tomorrow...joy...g'nite guys! lol

WELL DONE on the running dude! That's awesome!
Your stews sound really nice - I'm going to try and cook a healthy one this weekend :)

Keep up the great work :Angel_anim:

Hey gang. Today was not bad despite waking up early.
Eats:
cereal and milk
yogurt
bread and pb
snacks: 1 string cheese, 1 orange, 1 pear, 2 cheese wedges, 8 triscuits, 1 frozen banana...NOT THE BEST IDEA!!
dinner: 3 pieces of chicken, lil rice, 4 slices of a plantain
salad
water and tea

Skipped the gym today (foot not normal still)! I will have to go tomorrow though!!

For some reason, this whole eating thing has not gotten any easier. It can be frustrating some times. You start the day with the best intentions, reminding yourself of your goals and all that and then you make mistakes here and there. For example, I could have done without those 2 extra snacks today...u know? Hunger is truly a powerful thing. You'd think by now we'd have "outsmarted" it...Guess not!

Plans for tomorrow: have right amount of snacks, go to the gym (foot cooperate with me!), eat well at dinner, be awake, understand what is taught in class...yep that's about it! Hope everyone is having better luck than I am apparently! lol

Hey guys!
Eats today:
cereal and milk
yogurt
usual lunch
snacks: 1 string cheese, 2 small apples, 2 cheese wedges, 1 banana, 8 triscuits
dinner: bread, pb, 2 cheese wedges, plain sweet potato
salad
water and tea

Exercise: hr cardio, weights, stretches

I know I didn't do well w/ the snacks again today. I just eat them earlier in the day and finish my allotted amount before dinner and then after dinner I still want something so I go "over." I should have less snacks earlier in the day to balance that urge out! Foot still hurts but biking didn't bother it! Have no idea where I am on the weight loss front. Will step on the scale tomorrow! TOMORROW WILL BE AWESOME! AND ALL THE DAYS AFTER! lol

Try changing some of the cheese snacks for something with lower calories and more filling. My daughter loves cheese but we have virtually stopped buying it as it is too tempting.
Don't be so hard on yourself though you are doing great!!! :)

Excellent idea Ecky! Gotta get back to the fruits (more fiber)! Maybe that will help! Think they put something addictive in the cheese! lol But I am not making any promises to get rid of it completely! lol Just will try to have less! Speaking of which...

Eats:
cereal and milk
yogurt (2x)
bread and cheese
snacks: 1 string cheese, 3 small apples, 8 triscuits
dinner: same as yesterday
salad
water and tea

Gym: biked again...think that will be the theme this week until foot is painfree...What the heck will I do about Saturday? I signed up for a 5k then and am praying for complete recovery by then...not anticipating that though! Gym was good...did weights and abs and stretches too. Pretty crowded today...

School was decent. So sleepy tonight!! And have a test Friday which I didn't study for...have to be productive tomorrow! Good news: only mistake today was the extra yogurt...Otherwise I'm pretty happy with today! =) Wish every day were like this food wise!! I can do it though!!!!!!!:smash:

I sure hope you get to make time to study for your test on Friday! Keep up the good work.

Thanks Anna!!! =) Am working on it! Think it'll be a long nite! But I've been drinking lots of tea and am trying to remain calm so as not to mindlessly snack!! =)

Gotta be super fast! Did well with the eats today except had extra yogurt and an extra fruit (orange). Managed to avoid having another extra snack by drinking tea and then distracting myself. Did go to the gym and biked again. Put ice on the foot and took an anti-inflammatory pill afterwards. Hopefully it'll behave! Will see if I can get a refund for the race tomorrow or at least ask if I can use the money I paid for a race in the future! Shall see what they say! I WILL remain calm tonight while studying and try to resist urges to overeat tomorrow when I am sleep deprived (my body will trick me into thinking I'm hungry when really I will just need sleep)! lol Ok, enough analyzing...g'nite guys!

Had so much tea today and last night!!! Don't think it's effective though as far as keeping me awake...more mental (pretending it does). Anyway, eating wise once again had extra yogurt today and 3 EXTRA snacks (orange, apple, and cheese wedge). But it's ok. I forgive myself. I mean honestly I could have been awful. But I wasn't. And you know what? I don't have that horrible bloated feeling you get when you eat like crazy. So that's good news. However, I can't just give myself permission to have extra snacks and yogurt in preparation for tests b/c ultimately those add up and I'll never get the weight off! Isn't this frustrating? Oh, and I couldn't get refunded for the 5k...so I guess I'm going tomorrow. Just not running...but I'll feel silly walking this time. Oh well. Guess my foot will thank me and I can always run next time (keeping my fingers crossed)!
Progress: ate decent pre and post test, consistent w/ exercise, foot improving
Mistakes: still had one too many snacks than I should have had and yogurt...I think snacks/yogurt and dinner are hardest for me. I really will have to master this in order to drop the last few pounds. It just seems like you really have to be focused...and your focus has to be "on" constantly. No "off" switch for any reason!!! Tomorrow is a new and test free day. Fortunately for me spring is approaching and isn't that even more motivational for weight loss? :hat:

We have got a 5k walk coming up in May for cancer research and my friend and me have decided to wear our pixie outfits again. The problem is we will probably end up on local telly and newspapers and look like right prats. I hope that your foot is better soon.

Pixie outfits? What are they Ecky? Sounds great though! And a good cause too! Don't worry...no one will be judging y'all! =)

Today was decent. Went to the gym...it was pretty empty though. And I was sad that I haven't seen this one guy in a while...having him there makes the workouts seem easier even though we've never talked! lol Weird I know! =) Anyway, eats were good today. No mistakes that I can think of. I could have eaten less based on the extras I had during the week, but, otherwise, judged by itself I did fine. Hope tomorrow will be productive. Need to ice my foot tomorrow (neglected to do that today) and continue biking! Lance Armstrong will have competition soon at the rate I'm going! ha ha

Hello!

Today was not bad...got a little stressed tho while cleaning some and I'm behind on school work too. Ugh. Did hit the gym today...bike. I miss running now that I haven't been able to. I will have to start slow once my foot is normal and gradually increase the amount of time I run. Also, I only run on treadmills at the gym so maybe I should run around the track? Idk. But I get self-conscious doing that...will consider it.
Eats:
cereal and milk
yogurt
bread and pb
snacks: 1 string cheese, 8 triscuits, 1 cheese wedge, 2 gum, 2 mangos (YUMMM!!!)
dinner: few slices of plantain, rice and chicken...was delish!!! One of those times where having four stomachs like a cow would have been handy! lol j/k
salad
water and tea

Gotta go cram some more! G'nite all!

hello and help!

I had a gastric balloon inserted on the 14th of Feb and have not really 'settled in' to being able to tolerate food very well, it seems a tiny amount of mashed veggies will keep me full all day and if I have anything else it sits in my stomach for hours and I eventually vomit. I am concerned because I am feeling very drained and tired and have some pretty full-on weeks of work coming up where I have to really be on my toes!
Could it be that I am just taking a bit longer than other people to be able to eat? I cannot imagine being able to eat solid normal food.
I am very happy to be reducing, for sure, but it is taking a toll! I have lost about 61/2 kilo ( i think that is about 14 lb's) and want to lose about 15 or 16kg's.
Today I am really wondering if I can hack it though, very grumpy!
I would really appreciate some advice or even hearing about how other people have got on. Am I expecting to be 'normal' too soon?
Sal:Angel_anim:

Hi Sal! Wow...sounds like you've been through a lot! I don't know much about that area...can you talk to a doctor? Yeah, you somehow need to be taking in more nutrients...just talk to someone experienced in the area...Maybe you can post another thread elsewhere too for more advice?

Recap of today:

Hey! Well am studying for a test tomorrow but thought I'd be quick.
Eats:
cereal and milk
yogurt
usual lunch
snacks: string cheese, triscuits, cheese wedge, 2 mangos (god bless mangos!), few pieces of gum
dinner: bread, pb, 2 cheese wedges, plain sweet potato
salad
water and tea

Exercise...hr bike, weights, abs (see the definition in abs some!) =)

You know what? I'm not feeling cravings right now even though I'm studying and I think it's b/c first of all I'm trying not to see tomorrow's test as a big deal. Second, I satisfied my body today. I think if you deprive yourself of foods you love (in my case: peanut butter, cheese, whatever) then you'll snap (have to be reasonable though and your choices have to reflect love of yourself...just my opinion). But I took care of sweetness w/ the peanut butter, sweet potato, mango, gum...And got salt from the crackers, salad, and cheese. Fiber too...so think tonight will be productive and I won't feel bad tomorrow for a change (eating wise anyway...hope the test won't be terrible)! lol Bout to fix myself a nice cup of tea! G'nite! :driving:

I agree with having a little bit of whatever you crave before it gets to such a big craving that you pig out. Good luck with the test tomorrow and well done on not letting it stress you. Eating is much more difficult to control when you are stessed.
About the pixie outfits :)
My friends and me made little pink pixie outfits for my daughters 21st birthday party. We looked totally ridiculous but it was a lot of fun. I posted photos on my profile!!!

Hey Ecky! lol about the outfits! I will look at the pics tomorrow! Late again...stayed up to watch top chef with my dad! Bonding moment! lol The test was decent today...made few mistakes but I'm perfectly happy with that. Tried my best! Stayed up late to study and got up early BUTTTT I am so happy b/c I didn't act crazy eating wise!! Yay! And so today before and after the test my stomach wasn't heavy/uncomfortable like it usually is when I act silly w/ the snacking! A good feeling... =)

Eats:
cereal and milk
yogurt
sandwiches
snacks: 1 mango, 3 cheese wedges, 2 apples, few pieces of gum. (Had one extra snack today but I'm A-ok w/ that!!)
dinner: leftovers...lil chicken, lil rice, lil spaghetti, lil beef stew (don't worry...small portions)
salad
water and tea

Exercise: bike...weights, and stretches too. I've come to look forward to stretching...let my mind wander while doing them!

Put some ice on my foot. Hope it'll act normal soon!! Want to start the running back up! Will wait though! Anyway, have a good nite guys! Almost the weekend!!!!

Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!
Eats:
cereal and milk

usual lunch
snacks: 3 small apples, 2 cheese wedges, 8 triscuits, lotta gum
dinner: craving it so...bread, pb, 2 cheese wedges (ran out of feta), and plain sweet potato
salad

Skipped the gym today but will resume activity tomorrow!

Mistakes: 1 extra snack, extra yogurt, gum
And on we march! :smash:

You know what I realized today?? Exercise is a gift! Laugh all you want but it's true. Met a patient today who used to be active and is currently in a wheelchair due to a freak accident. He said he sometimes longs to join his neighbors who are walking in the street but he tries not to dwell on that. Because thinking about that stuff does no good. Made me realize how lucky I am to be able to exercise like I do. And I don't know what I'd do if I were in his shoes. Makes you wonder sometimes how fair life really is...Glad he was religious though because it helped him accept it. Not sure if I could. Anyway, just felt like sharing.

Eats today were ok. Had an extra snack and yogurt again. Will try to work on that. Did bike as usual, lift weights, and stretch...Hope to sleep well tonight and enjoy the long weekend! =) Take care everyone!

Hey guys! Will be quick! Had a lotta fun w/ friends last night. Food wasn't great but company was. Had some kind of Asian meat w/ sticky rice for dinner and some edamame. The meat tasted synthetic almost...yuck! Anyway did not go to the gym today...went yesterday though. Will go tomorrow.
Eats:
cereal and milk
yogurt
usual lunch
snacks: string cheese, triscuits, cheese wedge, 2 mangos (large! oops!!), gum
dinner: bread, pb, 2 cheese wedges, plain sweet potato
carrot and lemon (too lazy to make a salad)
water and tea (not enough water today)

Think I could do better w/ the yogurt and snacks area. Gotta be careful w/ the mangoes! Feeling a little down lately...get tired of this town! Want to travel! Sigh...:toetap05:
