How do you start a diary?

OOOOKKKK! I am tired of my weight. It's not a huge amt. but still. I know I can do it if I set my mind to it. Gotta leave the contemplative stage and go for it! Seeing as how it's late tonight, i will consider tomorrow day 1. But I must remember that this is a lifestyle change NOT a quick fix!!!

I was fine a few months back...but now back in school. It's hard to be fit and focus on schoolwork at the same time. Then ppl call you skinny in a negative way...u know? When you're eating properly and taking care of yourself... So I let it slide, and I want to get back to it for MY sake. B/c health is the number one thing. Well, it should be anyway. And isn't it sad that ppl are starving out there, and we can be so gluttonous (sp?)? Ughhhhh. I'm GREAT w/ the exercise part (really dedicated and motivated). It's the eating that sometimes trips me up. Gotta stop emotional/stress eating! Ok, I think I'm done rambling for tonight. Luck on my journey!

Day 1

Ok. So here's Day "1"

cheerios w/ water (ha ha...no milk in house)
4 slices wheat bread
2 small spoonfuls of pb
2 pears
2 slices of pita bread
beef strips
salad
Stayed hydrated w/ water today too

Exercise:
over hour cardio
weights
abs
stretches

I think I did well today. Gotta remember it's ok if I'm not "perfect" w/ food. I mean I can't always control the food choices available, and, in those situations, moderation is key. Looking forward to tomorrow. This is kinda fun...ha ha!
 
I like the traditional approach. Something like this

"Dear diary,

Today Jimmy smiled at me! He is so dreamy! One day we will get married!"

At least thats how mine started.
 
Day 2!!

lol thanks guys!! Funny!

Well, I think day 2 went well. Anyway, here we go:
Cheerios (this time w/ milk...god bless the grocery store)
2 slices of wheat bread (although calorically equiv. to 4)
2 small spoonfuls of pb again
lot of fruits today: apple, 2 pears, nectarine
little spaghetti w/ 2 pieces of chicken on the side
salad
stayed hydrated w/ water =) (think it helps)
had two cups of tea (no sugar)

Exercise: hour cardio, weights, stretches
Feeling good...hope to buy an inspiration board soon...Was thinking about buying a couple of foam boards and decorating them w/ motivational sayings and pics of athletes like Dara Torres, etc.

Day 3!!

Today was good...
Food:
Usual Cheerio's and milk
plain yogurt
usual wheat bread w/ pb =) (yum)
lot of fruits: 2 apples, 2 pears, nectarine (guess I could ease up on the fruit but difficult...fortunately they weren't huge)
little spaghetti and small meat patties with 1 piece of chicken
salad
Water...Tea (unsweetened)...

Exercise:
hour cardio, weights, abs, stretches =)

Feeling good!
 
Day 4!!

Hey! Here we go...
Cheerios and milk
plain yogurt
Wheat bread and pb as usual
Fruits today: whopping 4 apples and a peach (need to buy more fruits ha)
3 soft tacos (chicken)...no cream crap
Water and tea as usual

Exercise: hour cardio, weights, had no time to stretch unfortunately
Well, so far so good! I like holding myself accountable on this thing!
 
Day 5!!

Hey! It's Friday! =)
Food:
cereal and milk as usual
wheat bread and pb as usual
yogurt
fruits today: 2 apples, 2 pears, 1 nectarine
spaghetti (yum)
salad
water and tea
Exercise: hour cardio, weights, abs (half ass effort...prob. need to do tomorrow), stretches
 
SR...you REALLY need to start a diary. If you want THIS to be your diary, I can move it over to the diary section. But this is the newcomers sections and it won't get as much attention here.
 
Today is Saturday...ok so here we go:
cereal and milk
sandwiches as usual
yogurt
snacks today: 2 string cheese (mozarrella sp?), 2 apples, pear, nectarine, gum
I know I had a lot of snacks today but dinner was appetizer style at a party so had small portion and came home hungry...Didn't want to have another dinner so had some of the above snacks...
The food there: meatballs (2), 2 strips of catfish (didn't eat all of it b/c not huge fan of fried stuff), one roll, and little slice of meat (chicken? not sure)
Came home and made myself salad too (just lemon, salt, pepper, and mint on top...don't like creams and stuff) lol
Sometimes the hassle of eating out sucks. I mean I would rather have enjoyed a nice meal at the house where I knew the healthiness of what I was eating (and it prob. would have tasted better too lol) as opposed to guessing how many calories were in this particular thing or that...u know? But I have to be realistic I guess...and besides company makes for better memories than do numbers. I am happy that I did my exercise today. All in all, I did well today I think...
 
Day 7!

Today is day 7! Yay! lol
cereal and milk
bread and pb =)
yogurt
Snacks today: 3 apples (love them), 1 string cheese, and a pear
spaghetti (leftovers lol)
salad
water and tea
Didn't exercise today! My day off! Ha!
I can do this!
 
Day 8 (yesterday)!!

Yesterday:
cereal and milk
wheat bread and pb
plain yogurt
snacks: 4 apples, string cheese, pear, 1 gum
dinner: wheat bread, pb, and feta cheese w/ plain sweet potato on side
I know I had a lot of snacks. Dinner was unusual b/c the electricity went out so had to make something...
Stayed hydrated...
Exercise: hour cardio, weights, stretches

Today was a good day. You know why I'm doing this...I don't want New Year's to roll around again and resolve to lose weight...u know? How dreary! I want to wish something more meaningful!! lol =)
Ok so...

I didn't even wanna go to the gym today but I forced myself and I'm so glad I did! I think you don't ever regret going to the gym. The hardest part is getting your shoes on! Anyway, did well w/ the hydration today. Been drinking more water lately, which I think has helped. Maybe I will freeze some yogurt tonight for tomorrow or some grapes...Kinda happy w/ my progress...haven't been on a scale for a while and I could care less. I think the fact that I'm eating well and exercising should be my focus not numbers on a scale which naturally fluctuate anyway. Probably will weigh myself later though when I am closer to my target and for long term maintenance! =p

Day 10!!

Hey! Today was a good day!
Food:
cereal and milk
WHEAT bread and pb (more about that later)
frozen yogurt =) (oh the yogurt is homemade by the way...very easy to do...)
snacks: 2 apples, 1 string cheese, 1 orange, lil pepperoncini and pickled okra (u read that right...not pepperoni) lol
dinner: 1 kabob, spinach and 2 eggs, slice and half of persian "kuku"
salad
water

Exercise: hour cardio, weights, stretches
Guys, make sure your wheat bread is really wheat bread! I thought for the longest time I was eating wheat bread when I wasn't...food companies are so sneaky!! Shouldn't say enriched on it...should say 100% wheat...u know? I enjoyed the yogurt snack. Put some in fridge for tomorrow. I just bought the pepperoncini and okra today from the store! lol Love the name pepperoncini. I liked it better than the okra personally. It was hot, and I think it helped me from getting seconds of dinner! =) Feeling good! Hurrah! lol =p

dinner: part of a beef and celery meal, 2 eggs and spinach (probably could have eaten a little less of this...next time maybe...)

Am so glad I exercised today! Almost skipped and almost had dinner SUPER SUPER early but I held off. B/c I knew I wasn't hungry...just bored and possibly sleepy. So I distracted myself and left the house for the gym! Then enjoyed dinner w/ the fam...Good girl! Oh, and my jeans were less tight today...that's good progress. Side note: I don't know how ppl can exercise w/o music!!! Oh man! Have no desire to lose the headphones!
