HOT for my Honeymoon!!

Today is day 1 of 139 days to come. I have let too many days go by without giving it my all or any effort what so ever. Today is a new day and I am ready to once again put in the effort. I want to finally reach my goal weight and be hot for my honeymoon! I can’t just keep saying ok tomorrow I will try harder…today I am going to give it my all and tomorrow and the day after until 139 days have passed and I can finally say I made it! I have set too many goals that I have not achieved and this time I am not looking back! We are taking a 10 cruise around the Eastern Caribbean and it’s a dream vacation for us so I have all the motivation I need! We leave March 13th and visit my parents in Arizona before flying to Fort Lauderdale where we depart. My parents just left last night since the weather has cooled down here and the next time they see me they will be so proud!
When we get back from our honeymoon we are going to start working on a family and that is the second reason I am doing this. I need to make these changes for good for my future family’s sake. I also don’t want to get pregnant while I’m overweight and unhealthy.
I also need to find a balance once I get there and stop the yo-yoing I’ve done my whole life. Someone should not gain 20 pounds in 5 months time just to turn around and work their butt off to lose it again. But for now unfortunately maintaining is not my focus and losing fat is. 5 months ago I wish I would have focused more on maintaining and not going back to all my bad habits. The good thing is I know how to lose weight – I just need to do it! So here I am – doing it! I need this journal to write my food log and exercise log in daily as it really keeps me accountable and motivated.
I’m not sure where I stand on the scale as it has been fluctuating 8 pounds over the last couple weeks. I am going to step on it tomorrow morning and go down from there! I’m also going to take some measurements because I know those need improvements! Maybe even some progress pictures since I have never done that before.
I have been on this forum for over a year and started many journals but have never got to my goal weight. The lowest I got was 141 and I felt amazing! It only lasted a day. I’m guessing I am now around 156 and all my clothes feel so tight and I’m all jiggly again. I’m 5’6 and my goal is 135. I know it’s not out of my reach because when I was 141 I still had lots of fat to lose. I know it’s not going to be easy but I want it so bad and I’m ready to work hard for it. I know this time around my diet is what needs the most work. I don’t like counting calories and I used to count Weight Watchers points but this time around I am just going to write down everything I eat and stick to healthy foods and smaller portions. I am also limiting myself to one snack per night after dinner. I am going to plan out what that snack is going to be while I make my dinner so I am not mindless eating all night. Some ideas I have are protein shakes, a glass of wine, veggies & dip or hard boiled eggs. I also really enjoy the chocolate sugar free pudding cups on a half of banana. There is no need to eat another meal after dinner before bed (which seems to be the case with my snacking)!
For exercise I plan to get up almost every morning and do at least 30 min on the treadmill. This morning I started it off and did 45 minutes. I walked mostly on 4.1 mph and incline 7. I want to start running again but I need to work my way there. I want to go to kettle bell twice a week and I recently bought the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred dvd so I am going to pop that in soon and get started. I love exercising once I have my shoes on – really that is the hardest part!
Ok I think that’s a long enough first post for now. I’m feeling great today and about my plan so I’m looking forward to the days to come!
~Lisa
p.s. tomorrow once I get my weigh-in I will work out my mini goals for the next 139 days!

Hey pretty lady :)

Welcome backkkk! Missed your posts and it's lovely to see you back and feeling so positive! I'm going to Arizona in January! Hope you have a wonderful honeymoon and that making little Lisa's goes well when you come back ;)

Speak soon lovely xxx

Alright woman!!!!!! :cheers2:!! I should start a New Journal too!! I haven't ever done that. Dunno why. I just figured that I continue on....LOL!!!

As for Day 1!! Congrats!!! Day 1 is today for me too!! Since Vegas, it's been tough to get back on track to exercise and eat healthy. Today has been a GOOD day so far though.

I want to take your 139 day challenge MYSELF!! :D!! I damn well want to be near if not at goal by then!!! :) We can do it!! The day I see 141 again, I am going to SHIT myself! hahah!!! :D!!! :p I found a picture of me the other day, when my little brother was born and my face was SOOOOOOOOO SLIM! I looked so cute, and to think I thought I was fat. :( **shakes head*** no more of that!! :) I actually liked a lot of the photos we took in Vegas. I realized that I had to delete LESS..and I liked that.

I am getting back on it too!!! I am going to go back to what worked for me once ago long ago. It was simple and boring and the same daily. Shake for breakfast, tuna salad for lunch, and shake for dinner, and fruit in the shakes, and maybe an after dinner snack. A protein bar-chocolate (they were Herbalife bars and shakes-but I can substitute cheaper ones). One gallon of water a day. Vitamins daily.

Simple. Boring. And helped me smash 50lbs in 8 months once. I was at my lowest then 141 to 139. I would maintain at 142 for 2 1/2 years. :beating:! I would run 3.5 miles everyday -5 days a week. Go to the gym 1.5 hours at night and WORK for it! I looked strong, felt good, and admired myself!

Let's do it, Lisa!!! :jump:! I'm ready for it!!!! It took me a minute to snap out of this RELAXATION funk, but I'm on it!! I made a VISION board and am ready to take my business as well as my BODY to the next level!!! It's funny though, I have felt really lost without the workout in my daily schedule lately. Like as if Life has stopped. LOL!!

I'm ready to START today!!! I have the 30 day shred Dvd too!! I think I'm gonna throw it in everyother day while doing the p90x and try to bike and or run for 30 mins to 1 hour a day.

Hey Lisa

Great goal, and you sound newly motivated. I'm just thinking about starting a new diary, sort of like shedding some of the old ideas, and coming up with new motivation or something, ugh I don't know.

Anyway it'll be fun to be on the journey with you.

Great to have you on board Alta!!! It's always easier when you know someone is going through it too - which is why I love this place!! Simple is the way to go! I need routine and focus so the less thought the better! Can't wait to be in the 140's with you and beyond!

Great to hear it Anna! I think a new journal would be a good fresh start!!

Day 1 was a success!! Here’s how it looked:

Exercise – 45 min treadmill- 425 cal, 2.75 miles
B – activia high fiber yogurt & 1/3 cup all bran buds
Snack – 2 cups mint green tea
L- spinach leaves, 2 walnuts, 2 strawberries, 1 can tuna (drained in water) w olive oil feta dressing
Snack – apple
D – 2 small rolls with 3 oz chicken thighs, 1 tbsp ranch dressing, 1 tbsp bbq sauce & romaine lettuce
Exercise – 20 min treadmill- 160 cal, 1.25 miles, a few kettle bell swings, bosu sit ups, various hand weights
Snacks – 5-6 small home made dill pickles, sugar free jello cup
I was going to have a glass of wine but needed something to crunch on so the pickles worked perfect. To be honest I started thinking about what other snacks I could make and had to tell myself it’s only day 1 of 139 – I don’t want to start tomorrow as day 1 of 138 and so on so I stuck to my plan and felt so good going to bed. I drank so much water yesterday too – I was a peeing machine!

Woke up 5 minutes before my alarm this morning and that usually means resetting it for another 40 min or so but I shut off the alarm and jumped right on the treadmill!! Day 2 of 139 is going great!!

Oh I weighed in this morning to my horror of 159.5 – ouch. I’m sure a few pounds are water weight because I remember seeing 154 sometime last week and there is no way I had that bad of a weekend. I’m hoping to get a better reading Friday once I flush all the unnecessary salt out. I do realize those dill pickles had lots of salt too so that might have played an influence.
Here’s how my mini goals look to getting to 135
Oct. 29 – 156
Nov. 26 – 148
Dec. 31 – 144
Jan. 28 – 140
Feb. 25 – 136
Mar. 11 – 135

Measurements will have to come tomorrow as I forgot this morning. Looking forward to finishing Day 2 with success and getting to the gym after work!

Good for you girl!!!! Some motivation is what i needed!!!! Sounds like a good plan.. Just keep going.
Thank you for the encouragment!!

Day 2 of 139 was another step in the right direction!! :hurray: Here’s how it looked:

Woke up 6am
Exercise – 45 min treadmill, 450cal, 3.5 miles (a mixture of intervals), stretch
B – high fiber activia yogurt & 1/3 cup all bran buds (180 cal)
Snack – 2 cups mint green tea
L – 1 can chicken and wild rice soup (250 cal)
Snack – small apple (80)
Exercise – 15 min treadmill, 140 cal, 1 mile (mostly 4mph & incline 7), sit ups & pushups on the BOSU, stretch
D – ½ cup brown beans in tomato sauce (150), 1 chicken egg roll w hot sauce (80), 4 oz boneless lean pork chop cooked with onions & marinade (guess 200)
Snack – I was making salad for lunch today so made a small bowl for a snack – field greens, spinach leaves, cherry tomato, yellow pepper, cucumber, black olives, green onion with poppy seed & caramelized onion dressing (250)
Bed at 10:30pm
That was it!! I also drank a lot of water (mostly with lemon) – I try to have a full glass around everywhere I am. I haven’t gotten into any intense exercise yet but I plan to go to kettle bell tonight so that should kick my butt. I didn’t do the treadmill this morning but I will do it tomorrow. I figure an hour of kettlebell will be plenty for today. Things that have been working for me are keeping busy in the evenings – sitting on the couch just doesn’t work because all I think about it food when the commercials come on so I got up last night and prepared my lunches for the next two days and did some cleaning around the house.
I’m really excited about my mood the last couple days – even work isn’t bringing me down. Things with hubby have been really good and even though the weather is crap I’m still smiling! I truly believe that we make our own happiness and by taking care of myself and working towards something that I know I can achieve it’s making all the difference.
Oh and I took some measurements this morning – can’t wait for these to go down!!
Bust – 36 inches
Natural Waist – 31 inches
Waist at BB – 36 inches
Hips – 40 inches
I will probably take these again on the days of my mini goals going forward.
Looking forward to the rest of day 3!!!:waving:

Hi!
You're doing a fantastic job, and what a great cause (honeymoon). Lol my hubby and I never went on one, so maybe once I'm looking and feeling flash....!
I'm 5"6 too, so I'm working to a similar end goal.
Best of luck, and thanks for sharing, you really make me motivated too!

Jess :)

I haven't had a chance to find a computer to accept your facebook request yet - I'm blocked at work. You are going to be one HOT referee!!!

Thanks for stopping by Jess!! That's too bad you never went on one - that's a great reward I think though so you should start planning it! Glad I could motivate you today!!! Keep it up!!

Day 3 was another great success!!:hurray: Here’s how it looked:

B – 1 cup sliced fresh strawberry (65), activia yogurt (100), 1/3 cup all bran buds (80)
Snack – 2 cups mint green tea
L – Big veggie salad - field greens, spinach leaves, cherry tomato, yellow pepper, cucumber, black olives, green onion w ff tomato, oregano, dressing. (230??)
Snack – 1 cup mint green tea
D (early) – Chicken stir fry – 3 oz bonless, skinless chicken, carrots, onion, snow peas, celery, zucchini, broccoli, baby corn, red & orange peppers, soy sauce, spices, chicken broth (350??)
Exercise – 8 min treadmill, .5 miles, 60 cal. 1 hour kettle bell circuit class – I have no clue how many calories I burned but it was so intense – wish I had a heart rate monitor!

Here’s the breakdown – warm up skipping rope – 8 min, stretch, kettle bell swings 10 x 4, instructor went through the different exercises we were going to be doing and we did 15 of each to make sure we had correct form.
The workout – 4 exercises circuit ladder style – 30 sec exercise #1, 30 sec rest, 30 sec exercise #1, 30 sec #2, 30 sec rest, and so on till 30 sec #1, 30 sec #2, 30 sec #3, 30 sec #4, 30 sec rest – repeat x 2 and then back down the ladder!!!
Here were the exercises:
First ladder - #1 two handed swings, #2 two hand overhead press, #3 two hand chest press swings, #4 two handed pull ups
Second ladder - #1 burpees w pushups, #2 lunges, #3 180 degree frog hops, #4 skip rope
Third ladder - #1 two handed swings, #2 crunches, #3 plank, #4 skip rope :puke:
I was dripping sweat but really proud of myself for sticking it out – I haven’t lost too much strength so that was relieving.

Snack – protein shake – 1 packet WW choc protein mix (100), ½ banana (60), ½ cup skim milk (45), ½ cup water, ice
Needed something more since I had an early dinner and such an intense workout so I had a sugar free chocolate pudding cup (60).

As you can see I’ve been putting the calories by my meals – I don’t normally like to count but lately I am enjoying it – not sure how long it will last. I just hate how inaccurate I could be because I don’t have a meat scale and things like veggies I’m just guessing. Overall I think it was a really healthy, balanced day!!

Day 4 of 139 started off great too!! I got on the treadmill and did 35 min – 2.6 miles, 340 cal. I had my usual breakfast and salad packed for my lunch. I just realized I forgot to take the chicken out of the freezer so I might have to stop and pick up some meat for dinner – otherwise we are having yams and corn on the cob. I truly believe day 4 will end in success also!! I weighed in this morning at 155.8 so I am right on target!:hurray:

Day 5 - will not be so successful because we are planning on going out for Halloween but I plan to get to the gym in the morning and get a really good workout in – I’m also going to stick to lower calorie drinks :cheers2: instead of my fav white Russians and try to avoid the munchies as much as possible.

Day 6 should be great – no reasons it can’t be. I didn’t pick up any Halloween candy that I enjoy and haven’t opened the chips I plan to hand out so I shouldn’t gorge like I did last year.

Day 7 – back to work and back to my routine!!! See you all on day 7 – have a ghoulishly fun Halloween everyone!!!:waving:

Hi Lisa!

Found your new journal - thanks for letting me know!

Hope you had a great Halloween! We had a best since the kiddies came along. Our old neighbourhood was rather sketchy and we never took them around. Plus because they are young, we would just pack them up in the car and visit the Grandparents and our aunts/uncles. This year was a blast! We had a nice (cold) walk around the neighbourhood. It was fantastic!

Take care!
J

Have a fun few days. See you on day 7... is that weigh in day?
No weigh-in is Fridays - I just don't have a computer at home to update during the weekend!
Have a great weekend Lisa :)
Thanks Hanna!
Way to get back at it, Lisa! Have an awesome weekend! :pumpkin:
Thanks Laura
Hi Lisa!
We had a best since the kiddies came along.
This was my first year handing out treats at our house since other years we would be out partying and it really made me want to have a baby so I could dress them up and take them around - they were pulling on my heart strings! Kids are so darn cute!! Glad you had a good one!

I have to make this quick because work is really insane today - well day 4 was a great success but I can't say the same for day 5 or 6! Day 5 started off really good and I went to the gym for an hour and a half and did 4 miles on the treadmill and 1 on the elyptical but as soon as the drinking started the night went downhill. I got so drunk and don't even remember eating bad but I woke up with chip wrappers all around me, lol!!! I actually don't remember much from the night and didn't take any pics so hopefully some of my friends did - I think because I don't drink very much anymore that when I do I'm a really cheap drunk and can't drink like I used to. The drinking games didn't help either.
Then since I was so hung over all I wanted was grease and hubby gave in to my desires and picked up Chinese food - I'm still burping up the taste today - so gross!! I hardly drank any water yesterday either and indulged in some treats at night - my stomach feels awful today from the bad weekend and I'm banging my head :smash: for it!
Nothing to do now but start fresh again today for day 7 and get that motivation back! I love how everyone is really positive in their journals and starting their own challenges for the weeks ahead - keeps me on track too!! Didn't get up for the treadmill today and barely made it to work - plan to hop on it right away after work and make up some damage done and hopefully get some energy back.
Hubby is planning on going out of town for work again soon so that should help with the eating!

LOL woke up with chip wrappers all around! That's funny. You must've had a lot of fun, too much fun to even take pictures! Haha. I ate horrible on my Halloween hangover day so don't feel bad... I mean what else can you really do to feel better other than eat like crap?! It's the only way out, I swear!! Hahaha. But I am happy that you are back and ready to work hard again this week. I am starting my countdown to Christmas where my goal is to be 130! I have been tracking my calories, planned out my meals and I am going to step class tonight. You have got me motivated again and I'm so happy because I actually feel it this time that I will meet my goal too. I want to post some hott pics in the before and afters :p lol

Chat tomorrow, will have good news no doubt about it!!!!

Hey Lisa! I just had a few minutues break at work and thought I would check up on you and the other girls and it is so good to see you so motivated! You are a huge motivation for me, your positivity always makes me want to kick myself into high gear with you and get to my goal once and for all. I love your plan and love how motivated you are and I am so looking forward to seeing you get to your goals and look hot, sexy and gorgeous for your hubby and your honeymoon! You only get one and you will look amazing in the pics to show your future little ones just how hot mommy was on her honeymoon. I am really proud of you for never giving up and always wanting to work hard, I know your going to get to your goal weight and I hope that your motvation rubs off on me. I miss your updates and I miss being on here giving my updates, I'm going to really start trying hard to even devote 20 minutes to the site. You are off to an amazing start!

hahah :D! Lisa!!! ...great minds devour the same.

...I woke up with bitten Chicken nuggets and taco wrappings around me. Thank God, they were on the desk and not on my pillow like I've done before. Good thing too, cause I like my food SAUCY!....HAHAHA!!! :blush5:!! oops. LOL!!

I have to be quick again - my boss is up this week and lurking over my shoulder so I only have a minute!
Day 7 wasn't amazing but it was a decent start to the week!
Today I have more energy so that is on my side! Planning on getting a good workout in tonight - that always revs up my motivation!!
Janvier - great to see you around!!
Sarah & Alta - I love it how much we are alike!! Looking forward to seeing your halloween pics!!
