Here's my story

Going strong, nice work!

Loving that you put kgs and pounds, I work in kgs but will do the same when I start my diary. Makes it so much easier to follow for those who work in the opposite. I definitely appreciate it :)

Can you purchase a second hand bike maybe?
Its a shame your city doesn't have something like here in Paris. The velib bikes.
30 euros for a year membership and every half hour is free, after that its 1 euro for every extra hour I think, its cheap and their are so many stations that you can bike anywhere and drop it of anywhere. My hubby uses it more than me as its quicker than car, train.

You would need like a mountain bike?
I personally don't like biking but know its great exercise if you like it.
I want to do aqua bike, 30 minutes peddling under water. I can manage that but not hours.

We and some friends biked from Paris to Versailles the long way (4 hours) they all biked back and I got the train with my bike :ack2:

I would like to try bike under water, well I live near Toulouse in a village where there's absolutely no flat roads or paths, so yea, the bike would had to be able to support my weight on such terrains.

I didn't know you were in France also, I've been to Toulouse once, very nice city. Cleaner than Paris that's for certain. (Ignore any previous or future rants I make about the French, its more of a... Still can't deal with the culture shock after 9 years than anything else)
Would like your opinion though.... Do you think the French in general are obsessed with weight in a negative way?

I hear aqua bike is supposed to work miricals, most water aerobics do, this is why I want to do it. It will get rid of cellulite appearantly.

If you love biking I say get one that would be good for your area where you live.

I don't like french people in general, arrogant, pussy-ish and very american-culture wannabes, I also hate Paris, this city you can't drive for shit, you can't have a drink without paying over 10 euros at a pub, there's nothing good in this city!

I don't think french are obsessed with weight, also french isn't even currently in the top 20 of the country with the most weight problems ( USA is like the 2 nd country with most weight problems, first country being mexico ) if I remember correctly.

Where do you come from?

At the moment I don't have any money for a bike unfortunately, but I wish I had !

Happy we are on the same page lol,
There are things I do love about Paris but yes I find the people hard to deal with at times and agree with what you said above.
I'm from New Zealand and met my French hubby there nearly 10 years ago when he was on a work holiday trip for one year. The things we do for love eh? Lol

French don't typically seem to be overweight but the phrase I hear the most in regards to eating is "fais attention" I think they stay slim because they are obsessed with it. Even being pregant I get a telling off for putting on too much weight with my gyno. Me and my foreign girl friends have come to deteste the "fais attention". In saying all this I didn't really care about my weight (health) till moving here. I have come to prefer water over soda in the last 9 years. Maybe they are just obsessed with being healthy and me and my friends are blind and think its all about weight??

Money, its not everything but it certainly does help right.
I will have a money box and will put 10 euro in it for every kg lost. This is something I can afford over the months to reach my goal, at the end of the year weight loss plan I will hopefully have a money box full with 300 euros to go shopping for new clothes to fit my new body.

The box idea is amazing ha!

Well, I don't know if french people whether pay attention too much for their weight or not, every french I know love to eat actually, baguette/fromage/vin (Bread/cheese/wine) are very importants for a lot of french people and they can't live without. I don't feel like we use this ' fais attention ' often tho, but I may be so used to it that I can't even remember it said in the context.

I'm going to the post office this afternoon as my money box should be there. Cant wait to get it as I got a personalized one with photo and title "I CAN DO IT!"

Yep, the French love all these things but they do know how to do it in moderation I think. When hubby's mum gets a croissant on the odd weekend that we stay there she will verify and say, its ok we don't eat this every day.
My friends husbands daughters are 11 and 14 and tell her to "fais attention" when she has a packet of crisps (she's Irish and the Irish and English love crisps), she didn't know what to say.
It could just be a Parisian thing?

No offense to your hubby of course, but parisian french are a lot different than other french, I'm not really fond of them usually, ( I do have some parisian french in my family tho )

None taken, even though he is Parisian he also dislikes the general Parisian attitudes.
He is very "fais attention" though. He eats a lot but does so much sport that it boarders on crazy level.
I do find his non Parisian family easier to relate to when we visit them in the south than Paris people.

Parisians people tend to be more arrogant than other people, maybe because they're in the capital of France, matter of education.

I think its a lot of things, education, too many people and the scammers.
I tend to ignore people in the streets now (which is just not me as i want to help people find the street they want or a nice place for a cold drink) but for the simple fact that 9 times out of 10 the person is trying to get money out of me or something worse.
Just walking 5 minutes down the road to monoprix and ill have comments "tu est belle, tu veut prendre une cafe avec moi, tu est belle" once rejected they sometimes ask if I can give them 2 euros, lol
its very ikky.
