:waving: M Marie!!! Congrats on your loss :hurray:.. Keep going girl. You are doing good and keeping that motivation. So how are those protien shakes doing for you?? I wan to get some but I cant decide. My hubby uses the muscle milks and something else. But I cant require a taste for them.

As for the bars, I never tried the Luna Bars.. I love the Fiber one bars and Kellogs bars. Yummy.. Anyway you have a wonderful wekkend and dont forget to drink your WATER!!!

you need the protein to maintain muscle while ya loosing the fat. Protein shakes are great but keep away from stuff like muscle milk etc. you don't need the expense or the calories that don't come from protein in your protein powder. also a lot of the extra stuff they add is all hype.
 
Trusylver: The protein shakes are going great! I really really enjoy them actually. I am not a fan of soy milk, but i totally dig these shakes. I use the EAS brand of whey protein. (Energy Athletics strength) It is the vanilla flavor. Ingredients wise its decent IMO. It has 23 g of protein, 50 mg sodium, 3g carb, 1g sugar, 140mg potassium, 120 calories. It was only about $9 at Giant ( groccery store)

I mix 1 scoop of that, with 1/2 cup of strawberries, and 1 cup of non flavored light soy milk. Its really good and i cant taste the soy at all. filled me up pretty well too!

I really am seeing a difference in the way i think about food these days. Its like my body is starting to know what it needs. The other day i had a decent lunch.. low calorie, low fat.... but for whatever reason my body really needed sugar. and i knew that i needed something sweet right away. AS soon as i got that in my body, i felt great. I never felt those things before.

I also now that i have made progress, dont view chips as YUMMMMY or candy as a craving. Dont get me wrong somedays i just want some chocolate and i have some. BUT... i dont fight with myself over whether i should have some yogurt or a snickers bar.... my body wants yogurt. I think i feel like i owe it to my body to take the healthy alternative... after all the hard work i did on the treadmill maybe that day.


My boyfriend is looooooving the new attitude that comes along with all of this. I dont mind so much now walking around the house in a tank top and underwear haha... i use to sweatpants it up and refuse to be seen like that with lights on! dont get me wrong... its only 10 lbs and there is by no means any phenominal difference in how i look... i just am feeling more confident.



Here is my question:


how do i get rid of leg fat hehehe. think after a while my cardio/running on the treadmill will melt it off??

Hey all! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I know mine was wonderful! Saturday was GORGEOUS. Oh my word it was just amazing. Got out and about and enjoyed it as much as possible! Put the top down on my car and crusied the back roads with my hunnie hehe.

Anyways, progress continues to be made. Im going strong here at 143. That’s exciting of course. Whats kind of neat is that people who do not know im working out and eating healthier keep saying wow Melissa… are you losing weight? You look so good these days! ? That was cool. Today I brought a blender into work and made my fellow weightloss buds protein shakes in place of breakfast… that was fun!!! Right now im at work… snacking on some peanuts because im a bit hungry. For lunch I had a small salad with fat free Italian dressing. It was a yummy salad too… lettuce, spinach, one hard boiled egg, feta cheese, cucumbers… yum! I also had grilled brussel sprouts with walnuts… eh…not so good lol. So my snack this afternoon is peanuts. Better than chips so im ok with that!!!! ? Not gonna lie… been craving some middles worth chips lately!!! Hehe. They are to DIE FOR… those who do not live in PA have no clue what im talking about…but they are bangin!

Thanks again for those who have been really supportive! It means A LOT to me!!!! ? 10 lbs down.. 20 to go!!!! 1/3 of the way there!!!!! ?

Even though i still ahve this gut and crap, the clothes are telling me not to stop, and i am listening. i need to get into the habit of making more protein shakes, but i hate washing the blender. I am at work as well. and i had subway. Half of a footlong at noon with yogurt, and the other half a few minutes ago (4 pm) so i get off at six and will have a good dinner! i also have peanuts as well as raisins at my desk to snack on too! Keep up the good work!

yeah, i've been a tad bit lazy on the forum posting lately, just been posting in mine. But i'll be back to making everyone's day that much brighter!

the blender sucks.. seriously.

now that i think about it i never burp when i work out. i have barfed them up before though post workout! not a fun experience. you aren't against raisins, try getting a sandwich bag and mixing the two together, it tastes pretty good in my opinion!

I have been on a healthy kick for awhile and I love seeing how it motivates my co-workers...

I am really loving my protein shakes, I put alot into them an dit gets me like 4/6 fruit servings, not to shabby and I feel great with the added protein

2) i just started my bc pills yesterday and i am retaining some water?????


i dunno. Maybe making a set day to weigh myself would be a good idea.... i think that would be good so that i can get a consistent idea of what is going on?

I also have eaten a good bit of soy the last two days and felt totally bloated today too.

I think all of the above...and no you arent making excuses, weight flucuates so much even just on a daily basis...

water retention is prob the first and best bet but needing to poop as well is a good possibility, LOL

Just hang in there adn set up a daily consistant time and such for that scale
 
I may have discovered a big issue...

Alright. So i did some research on my bc pills. Wow. I am done with them. I know more people will post the negative VS. the postitive.... but it all makes sense now.


I typically am not on birthcontrol pills... i was about 4 years ago but since then just used "other methods". Decided maybe to start them up again. The doctor put me on Trinessa. I did research for two reasons
1) wanted to see if it was one that was well known for weight gain/bloating
2) the last two nights i have slept TERRIBLY. My legs hurt SO BAD. I wasnt sure if it was from maybe not stretching enough from exercise or if it was not enough water... or WHAT.


Here... this is what i find.... NUMEROUS NUMEROUS posts


bloating, stomach cramps

leg cramps, weight gain

I have put on nealy 30 pound in a very short time

I have gained a lot of weight on my hips and in my stomach..which has never happened before!!! I didn’t eat anymore than usual and in fact I have been exercising even more

As soon as I went on TriNessa I gained 6 pounds



Pain in the calf (indicating a possible clot in the leg)

rapid heart beat and also have leg cramps

severe leg cramps/spasms, anxiety

Pain in the calf; Leg cramps; Leg or foot swelling

Maybe its a conincidence.. maybe im paradnoid.... but i really want to be successful with my healthy living and weight loss. Some stupid pill KNOWN for health/weight issues is not worth it to me..... last thing i need are blood clots going to my heart and killing me!!!


ill never make my goal that way!!!! lol


anyways.... just showing my findings. comments are welcome though

As far as the birth control I have no idea. I have been on Yazmin and now Yaz for almost 4 years. My doctor says that they isnt no weight gain with it. BUt as far as the blood clots I belive that is due to smoking. Your chances are higher if you smoke while on bc.

I mean no matter what bc you take you are gonna have the "side affects". It really depends on your body. And if you are seeing these results and maybe it's a good idea to switch it up.

Just stay Positive and drink your WATER!!! Dont give up girl..
 
Well bc totally screwed me up when I started takign them...threw my whole hormones and body right outta wake and I couldnt deal with it, after numerous elliminations of everyhting we finally reliazed it was the bc pill and hten I got preggos, HA, lol...but ya know...you gotta do what ya gotta do adn what feels right for you...I dont think I would ever go on the pill agianl...Iwould need to finad a diff forum of bc...right now Im practising abstance:DHA, works for me, it is but isnt by choice but waht can one do, LOL
