Help me convince someone

I have a female acquaintance who's approach to weight loss is eating as little fat as possible, starving herself in the process. Then she takes off 2 days during the weekend, eating whatever she pleases. I have told her many times this is the worst possible route to weight loss, that it is bad for her health, will make her exhausted, drive her to cheat on the diet. I also tell her that she needs good fats, and they will assist her with her weight loss. She will have none of it.

See she is the type of person who believes situps, crunches, etc. remove fat from the midsection and leave a set of abs in its place. What is the best advice to give a stubborn(health-related) person to help assist their weight loss and benefit their own health?

Education is power. If you have offered her the education and she refuses to accept it, you have done all you can, my friend.

If you think it might help to SHOW her that the advice you're giving her is actually generally accepted principle, find a good source and introduce her to it. That's all you can do. You can lead the horse to water, but you cannot make him drink.

It's not her fault....ya see, 1 in every 5 Americans are afflicted with a chronic mentally dysfunctional illness, it's called stupidity. It can be transfered from parent to child, child to child and even Oprah to child. Researchers are trying desperately to come up with a cure to this horribe problem, but video games, television and an apalling lack of EDUCATION continues to plague our society.

You have 2 choices...

1) Wait for her to fail and then, using a megaphone, scream in her ear "I FRICKIN' TOLD YA SO"....(try to say it like Doctor Evil) or

2) Lead the horse to water and then kick it in the ass until it's face falls into the hydrating rich liquid that we call education.

I like this book, it's easy to read and even has cute little cartoons with freaky elves to illustrate the points:

Ignorant people suck....good luck! ;)

When I was a child I had a fever.
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I got that feeling once again.
I cant explain, you would not understand.
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.
