Entry for Aug 5th, 06

This started the first day of my "committed" actual diet.

Breafast
two eggs fried on non stick skillet - 180 cal
1 cup OJ - 110 Cal

Lunch
Salad pocket - 90 cal
2 oz cajun turkey - 80 cal
water 8 oz - 0 cal

Dinner
2 Slices of cheese/pepperoni pizza from Papa Johns:eek: - 620 Cal (thought it would be more! I know... still not good choice.)
water 8 oz - 0 Cal

1180 Cal total

Excersice
1 Swimming for 20 minutes / Laid out in the sun for 1 hour :cool:
2 Walked the dogs for 30 minutes
3 I also did regular house cleaning, mopping, dishes, laundry for 1 hour


I wonder how many calories I should be eating a day.

Thinks I need to change: Need to be drinking more water. I really didnt drink much. I should be eating snacks or 5 small meals a day. EAT HEALTHIER.

I plan on weighing myself every Saturday and Tuesday.

Hello Heidi,

Good luck on your 'commited' changes. I think you will have much success if you model a plan similar to day one (except the Papa Johns part), just keep yourself fresh with the menu and stay true to your goals.

I think you'll find ample support and countless ideas here to make your weight loss just a littile bit easier.

As far as your calorie count and considering you're looking to lose 25 lbs and then maintain the weight loss, I'd say 1200 will get the job done as long as you have a plan for maintaining later on. I would hope you increase calories with good food and stay true to your daily exercise after you hit your goal weight.

I'm also glad your realize the need to add snacks into your daily routine, it really will make a huge difference satisfying some of your hunger moments with the correct snacks.
 
40 hours into a diet and my mind thinks I am starving! I know I am not hungry, but my belly feels empty. I did resist the urge to get on the scale...only hours into a diet and expect a miracle.

I used the calorie counter T2 had posted on his diary. With 1200 calories a day, it would average 2 mo and 13 days to loose 25 #.

I know I can do it!

Does anyone have any ideas for healthy snacks?

I like to eat raw veggies to fill that void in my stomach... low calories, and apparently veggies are good for you... who knew? :D
 
good positive attitude you've got there.. it will take you exactly where you want to go... drink more water... that'll help fill the void... and have some pre cut up veggies and fruits so that you've got easy snacks to reach for..
 
^ yeah like the mott's applesauce and the dole gelatin fruit cups...they are yummy.

Don't worry, your mind will figure out that your not starving :)

Dinner
grilled chicken breast - 287 cal
1/2 cup baked beans - 191 cal
1/2 cup potato salad - 179 cal
8 oz water

Snack
Hunts fat free chocolate pudding - 90 Cal
8 oz water

Today - 1047 Cal

Exersice
1. Walked dog 30 minutes
2. 30 minutes on Gizelle
3. 4 minutes on Jakes Ab Scissors (OMG that was PAINFUL!)
& hopefully 4. Atleast 20 minutes of TWH before bed

I feel so energized tonight.

Tomorrow I am going to try to make lunch my bigger meal and dinner a tad smaller.

Grocery List: Carrots, celery, cucumber, fat free snack packs, apple sauce

Rock on! I cant wait to weigh myself on Tues.

Day 3 of my diet... people at work with food, candy.. etc... oi! It was hard to resist but I did it!:eek:

1/2 package of Weight Control Quaker cinnimon oatmeal (I fixed a whole package but couldnt eat it all, it tasted gross) - 80 Cal
1/2 cup 2% milk - 61 Cal
4 oz water

Lunch
Cup lettuce - 10 cal
Cup raw spinach - 47 cal
Medium cucumber - 24 cal
2 tbls Italian dressing - 90 cal
2 oz cheese - 110 cal
8 oz water

Snack
Hunts fat free pudding cup - 90 Cal
8 oz water

Dinner
Salmon patty - appx 240 cal
1/2 cup green beans 20 cal
1/2 boiled potatos, no butter - 125 cal
1 cup lettuce - 10 cal
Ranch dressing - 110 Cal
8oz water

Snack
small tomato sliced - 16 Cal
8 oz water

Total - 1033 Calories
Whoa.. and it seemed like I ate alot today. With all this water I have been drinking, I had to pee many times today... Not eating after 7 PM. This is where I am getting my calories from

Exersice
Walked 30 minutes
20 minutes of light housework

I am really craving a diet pepsi... is there anything wrong with a diet pepsi?

While everyone else at work went in on Pizza, I suffered with a salad.

I think maybe I am being to monotonise with all of the calorie counting, but that is the only way I think I can keep an idea of what I am eating.

Breakfast, Oatmeal (had the regular kind today, much better) 160, 1/2 cup 2% milk 61, 8 oz water

Lunch, Wendy's Chicken BLT Salad 310, 2 tbs ranch 148, 8 oz water

snack, cucumber 24, water

Dinner, left overs...Salmon patty - appx 240 cal, 1/2 cup green beans 20 cal
1/2 boiled potatos, no butter 125 cal, water

Snack, apple sauce 90 cal Total = 1178 Cal

Exercise - walk 30 minutes, 100 cruches.

Weighed myself today, and lost 4 pounds since Friday. It must be water or something.

Or it could be the awesome job you're doing resisting the temptations of the co-workers.

I hope it is the work! I wish I had a treadmill so I didnt have to walk outside...

snack, apple sauce 90 cal
Lunch, 1 cup lettuce 10 cal, 1 cup spinach 47 cal, 2 oz cheese 110 cal, 2 tbls it dressing 90 cal, water
Dinner, Turkey Basil Petso Fresheta Wendy's 420 cal, water
Total = 947 cal, wow thought it would be more. I was suprised that the sandwich filled me up. It was alot healthier then my normal double with fries.

I sip water all day long now...
Exersice, 100 crunches, 100 squats, walk 30 minutes (I really need to figure out how far I am walking)

Should I be watching Carbs along with calories??
 
Keeping my diary on Fitday now!... Had appx 1100 calories today. I really resisted the urge to go to the CHINA BUFFET with my coworkers. One worker is on weight watchers but still eats out all of the time. I dont think I could go to a buffet and control myself. Everyone over eats at a Buffet... come on!.... you hafta atleast get your $$'s worth!!

I still feel hungry, but it is starting to be a good feeling. Forgot to put 40 min walk.

8-11-06, I totally blew it!!!!!!! Dont even know how many calories I had today. I had a special K bar 90 cals this morning. Was in a meeting during lunch, so didnt eat. Then my husband was at Gander Mtn with my daughter and wanted me to just meet him there after work. Then he wanted to go out to eat at the Olive Garden. Big Mistake. I ate everything that I shouldnt, after the salad. After we ate we went to the shoe store and then to TJ Maxx, then to his mother's house, so we didnt get home till 12:30 AM. So no exercise either.

Holy Crap. Its so easy to fall off of the horse. I did it without even thinking. To top it all off with my sister's mini pin died from anesthesia having his ears docked by a Vet that I recommended. Today SUCKED.

Finally weighed myself. 140 #. Even after all of that food yesterday. First week of dieting and lost 5 pounds. I am definately going to keep my calories at 1200 today and I am going to watch carbs better.

Exersice for today (my day is already planned)
push mowing 1.5 hours
shooting my compound bow, about an hour, hunting season is just around the corner!
house cleaning, about an hour
 
5 pounds thats huge congrats...... Yup bow season is getting close. I hope we get good cold weather but in texas its hard to say.....keep up the good work.....

This is my first season hunting with a bow... last year gun hunted deer and turkey, but didnt kill any. Maybe this year!!! I love shooting my bow. Went to my fist bow shoot a few weekends a go, and I kicked my husbands ass!!! Whoohoo... My husband would LOVE to shoot turkey in Texas.

Thanks on the 5 pounds, I just hope I continue to loose! Good luck on your weight loss, you have done AWSOME.
 
I cleaned allllllll morning long for like 3 hours. Then my mom came over for dinner. I went a little over the 1200 cals but not much... though we had speghetti for dinner. I didnt over eat, but I did have a brownie for desert. Didnt eat anything after 7. I got a reusable liter bottle for water...3 times a day drink up!

Dieting sucks. I wanted to eat a speghetti snack, like right now, 10 PM, but I resisted... YAY.

Pondering joining the YMCA. $28.00 a month. Worth it? Will I go? The Y here is geared towards weight lifting, no pool, and no classes of any kind for adults yet. Then there is Curves, but dont know much about it. Walking is getting boring real fast.
