Half of Me:The Story of Fat Girl Slim

Congrats on the running, Ali! I started about 5 weeks ago running 3xa week for 20mins.... I'm stuck at 90 second intervals of running and walking though. Going to try push that up a bit this week!

So I have been told by some very smart people in the know that I am pretty much killing myself with my WT regimen so I have revamped it...it seems very strange to me b/c 90% of what I used to do has been cut out...but they swear that it will be effective...

I did 45 mins on the elliptical (my groin was bothering me this morning so I elected to forego running in favor of the elliptical...750 cals burned or so and 4.01 miles...

I then did the weights:

squats: 3 x 5 @ 115
rows: 3 x 5 @ 110
bench: 3 x 5 @ 85

I feel good, tired, but good.

Ok, I am trying to step things up here and get my body moving...last night I did 30 mins of running, sucking wind all the while and then 15 mins on the stairs.

Tonight I did WT first -

All 3 x 5

Deads 95/100/105
DB Rows 25/30/35
Bench 85/90/95

All in all not bad - I hope that I will start to see some returns on the new WT program - I know it is way to soon to see but I hope that in a few weeks, I will finally start looking different.

Work is hell - I have two deadlines tomorrow for my two most difficult clients. I think they are in a competition to see who can torture me the most. The worst part? I will probably lose both applications, deservedly so, so all this work is just to get my rear end handed to me on a platter by the same judge two weeks in a row. Thank God he likes me...

Something interesting happened today...look who I found wandering the steets of Philly...

Very cool! You needed to stand on a box for the photo, though.

Tell me about it - there is a foot difference in our heights - at least I was able to be in the photo...it was a great time, I was so happy to be able to meet him :D

So like Brian said, we got to meet yesterday for lunch :)

We got to have cheesesteaks (I could only eat 1/2 of mine) and talk for over an hour - the time really flew by :) It was a really good time and we got along really well (which isn't surprising but you never know); I am glad we were able to do it. So often in these places you talk to people and never get to see the 'real' person, in the flesh so to speak, so I was glad I was able to have the opportunity to do that.

Great way to spend a Thursday afternoon :D

So it has been a while...

I finally cracked 180 - I was at 179.2 for three days straight and i was told that i could call it - so I did :D

FINALLY

I have been making gains in every area and I have started running again. I am getting some really great advice and have gotten myself up to running for 30 mins at 5.6 or 2.8 miles. I am a hair shy of a 5k in under 30. Come on 10 minute mile!!!

I am getting really good support and as you all know, that is crucial to succeeding in this thing.

Squats up to 125, deads up to 115/120 depending on the day.

All in all - gains across the board :)

Damn, Ali girl! You are smashing things left and right! :smash: That 5k under 30 is right there. You'll get it if not this week then next. How cool is that? :driving:
