Hajni's Diary: I will do it because I can

Hi Hajni,

I want some tummy-tucking tights, where do you get those? ;)

I didn't realize you started your journey at 200. I was right up there when I first decided to begin to lose weigh. My weigh-in was more at 210 though.
For a shorty like me, that's so not good.

Well ttyl.

Well ttyl.

I am 5'4" as well, so I think I am a shorty too. The 200 is an estimate. I started immediately after having my daughter in 2005 (literally, the day I came home from the hospital), and one day I was 205 and the next day I was 195. By the time my weight settled down I was probably around 200 although I did not record it at the time so I just go by memory.
Some pants I have to go for petite, some brands normal lengths fit me just fine.

Well, ok I try not to bum out to much about the gain of 0.4 lbs from last week but it is hard not to.
All I have is myself to blame for eating like a piggy on Saturday. Anyway to look at it positively, lately I have been up and down 2 lbs from one week to another so I guess this is like a minor change.
I went to the gym last night but I was just so extremely tired, I am not sure why. My job is not physical but I felt like a truck ran over me. I was shooting for my 600 cal burn, but my body gave up on me around 400 so I just stopped. I was moving like a snail. So anyway I am hoping today will be better. I forgot to take my regular vitamins and fish-oil and what not for the last two days, that wouldn't cause this right?
Another positive note: I like what I see in the mirror. I swear I look "skinnier" even if the scale is not moving and my pants are not so tight anymore (the ones I bought before Christmas when I was like 142)
My yesterday's menu: For the home-cooked meals I don't have exact quantities. I usually calculate the calories for the whole recipe and then divide it by 3 or 4 servings, depends.
Breakfast: 2 ww bread (70) (4) , 2 tbs better n p.butter (100) (4) , 1/2 banana (50), 1c. soy milk (60) (6), 1/6 c. protein powder (55) (12.5), choc syrup (10) 1 coffee (50), = 395
Snack: 1/2 c cottage cheese (80) (14) , 4 tbs ff whip cream (30)= 110
Lunch: butternut squash bread pudding (368), salad (40) 1 jello(10) = 418
Snack: 1 tortillas (80) (10), 1 baked tofu slice (57) (8), mustard = 137
Dinner: 1 pita bread (60) (6) 1/3 of spinach feta bake (260) (6), banana caramel smoothie (130) = 450

Total calories for the day : 1510
Exercise.: 25 min elliptical (200 cal burn), about 10 min circuit (80 cal burn), 15 min bike (120 cal burn) = 400 cal

my banana-caramel smoothie : ½ small banana, 4 oz soymilk, 1 cup crushed ice, 1 caramel pudding (hunt's),
butternut squash bread pudding is home made and turned out to be awesome : soymilk, eggbeaters, red. cal bread, 1/2 butternut squash, garlic, spices... I made a huge dish and just divided by 3.
spinach-feta bake, i think I posted this recipe before. This is one of my other favorites: cottage cheese, ff feta cheese, egg beaters, spinach ,red peppers, fiber one cereal, carrots. Also made a huge dish and divided by 3.

Ok, I have to run now.

hey girly.. don't sweat the .4 gain.. thats nothing.. we can get that off and more in this week. Hope you are doing well other then that and not feeling like a truck ran you over. I know that feeling well though i felt like that yesterday morning and a little this morning. I think its the flu trying to get me.. but i'm trying to fight it off with vitamin c and tons of rest. although i am planning on hitting the gym for an hour today. and playing ddr on the wii... love that game although totally have to get used to it again since i quit playing it for a while. At least dh likes to play it too. so we challenge each other on it.. gives us both a great workout. Although it kinda bums me out a bit cause he burns cals so much faster then i do. although he does weigh 15 lbs more then me he said he weighed 250 yesterday so he's really annoyed with himself cause he was down to about the same as me but kinda slacked off on watching what he eats when he's not with me.

ok gotta go. talk to you later

:drool5: The banana caramel smoothie sounds so yummy! I'm going to make that for breakfast tomorrow.

Feeling skinnier is way better than see a loss on the scale! I hate when I see a loss there but then my clothes are as tight as ever!

I'm sure you'll lose those 0.4 lbs.

Hugs!

I haven't posted for a while again. I am up and down, pretty much maintaining. Still going to the gym faithfully about 4-5 times a week, and for the most part I watch what I eat but not really losing. Today I was 147 which I know is from eating like a piggy over the weekend.
Have good days where I keep with my calories and stay away from junk foods, and have bad days when it seems like all I eat is junk food.
Anyway, I am not sweating it, i am learning. Still looking for and discovering new recipes or healthyfy old ones. I did not fall back into my old eating habits, even the junkfoods I eat are low in calories. (of course it adds up)
At least I did accomplish a long-term lifestyle change for the most part. 90% of the foods I ate while on the "diet" phase are still around and became a regular staple in my house. I enjoy food and enjoy cooking, but I am so much more aware of calories and fats than I was before.

I am trying to jump back in the saddle with you girl! I know we both have had alot of ups and downs but we are going to kick butt before summer!!!!

Hajni,

I never understand why they say it takes 3500 cals to gain a pound, but even when you never eat that much, you still gain a pound. :smash: And then you don't even eat near that much and can't lose anything no matter how hard you try. It's just not fair.

Glad to hear from you though. I'm sure you're toning up and the weight will all come off one of these days.

Are you still doing Turbo jam?

Hi Hajni :)
Glad to see you're still enjoying diet foods. I hope I will as well, once I reached my goal.

I love your attitude, you're always so positive and patient. I have a lot to learn from you.

Have a great week!

HI All,

I am still here and trucking along just don't post much. Life is busy. I might have found my new motivation this week, doing a challenge at work. So far so good, right on track but the dreaded weekend is coming up again.
I am going with my friend on Sunday for window shopping so I know I will be good since I don't eat out. I will just wait to get home or take a protein bar with me.
As of this morning I was 145.8 and since I have TOM I am sure it will be even less in a couple of days. I would love to be 142 again like I was before Christmas and start going down from there again.

Hi Haj~
It's good to hear from you.
Glad to hear that you have found something to be your motivation. And I am sure that you can get back to that 142. Your not that far off from it. It is attainable.
Good Luck

Hi! Glad to see you popping in!

That's great that your weight is going in the right direction.

I made a Mexican pizza last night and thought of you. At first I had ds get the ground beef out, but then I looked again at the recipe and it didn't have any meat at all!

It was beans, bell peppers, jalapeños, tomatoes, cilantro, cumin, spinach, and onions. It was very good. I'll see if I can find it online and if not, I'll type it up and post it if you're interested. Or I might post it in the recipe forum. I used jalapeños from the jar, so I didn't use as many as was called for. I got the recipe from Light and Tasty Magazine.

Hi SweatPea, the recipe sounds very yummy, i have to go over to the recipes board and see if you posted it.

Still trucking along, not much loss to report. 145.8 this morning. I am doing a mini-challenge with a co-worker for 6 weeks. so i lost 1 lb the first week which makes me very happy... we'll see if it continues.
Still going to the gym faithfully every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, Sunday. Sometimes I skip one of the weekend days.
The whole family was sick recently but we are all ok now.
Reduced my calorie intake to 1200 which seems to be working as far as weight loss goes but boy it is so hard to stick to. I don't want to increase my exercises any more so something had to give.
Sorry I am not around much and not visiting diaries. Just kind of lost that momentum.
I hope everybody is well and on their way to a healthier future.

I didn't post it yet. Sorry. Will do as soon as I get a spare min. Oh and 1200 cals would definitely be hard to do especially with the way you workout!

Congrats on the weight loss.

I was on a 1200 clas diet for a while...if you can stick to it, congrats! I lasted only 2 months and then my body rebelled!

Kudos on losing 1 lbs!

HI All,

My 1200 calorie goal usually end up being a 1350 by the time the day is over. Some days it is hard to do and some days it feels perfectly enough and I don't even feel hungry.
doing good in my challenge, 2 weeks gone, 2 lbs gone. Slowly it seems but I am going to the right direction.

:hurray::hurray::hurray:

It takes perseverance for sure, and you are doing awesome!

Side note - I really need to get that recipe posted!!
