Hajni's Diary: I will do it because I can

32 pounds in 6 months is awesome!! That's really good!! I lost the first 15 pounds lickity split, like in 2 months, then I plateau for about a month to 6 weeks, then I lost another 3-4 pounds and plateau again for another month, I just about at 30 pounds now and it has taken me nearly 8 months, HOLY SMOKES! I was always told that the more muscle you put on the faster you will burn calories, I'm still waiting for that to happen, I've lost a lot of inches and my double chin is now gone, but still the pounds on the scale are only dropping a pound every couple weeks, it's frustrating!! It could be worse, I could be gaining a pound ever few weeks, so I'll just be happy that it's going down when it does decide to move. LOL LOL what time do you stop eating at night???

I am struggling with this last 5 lbs... and yeah I am with you with the more muscle faster weight loss urban legend.. it does not seem to work for me. I lost about 1.2 lbs average a week, but it is all over the place. 4 lbs one week, nothing for two weeks.... then steadily weekly between 1.2-1.8 and now I am going up one week and going down the other, meanwhile my routine did not change much... Never understood... It seems this week I will have a gain again... how I have no idea... My food is between 1300-1400 cals and exercised my booty off....
I don't eat anything after 6.30pm. My body got so used to it that if I can hold off until then, the hunger completely goes away...
The reasoning is not because of weight loss though. If I eat too close to my bedtime (9-10pm) I have nightmares.... never figured it why... but happens everytime I eat very late...
 
Nov. 29th (Thurs) (23 days left)

Ok, today was great. Work was very busy and made the day fly by... every problem I bumped into got resolved quickly which does not happen often...
Food was great.. for curiousity I added up my protein grs. I usually only concentrate on the calorie contents and generally eat healthy... so today's protein was 63 gr, I am happy with that and just stick to calorie counting.
Went to the gym after work, 30 min elliptical and then 40 min boot camp, it is really 26 min hard work the rest is warm up and cool down.I didn't feel as much energy as I usually do and according to my HRM I did not work as hard either. I usually burn 300-350 cal in bootcamp and I only burnt 250 today.
Breakfast: 1 c. ff milk (90), 1 ½ c. Special K cereal (165), 1/2 c. cottage cheese (80), 1 tbs wheat germ, (25), 1 coffee (50)= 410
Snack: 1 ff yogurt (45), 5 melba toast (100) = 145
Lunch: LC Frozen dinner (310), lettuce, tomatoes , peppers (50), 1 diet hot chocolate (25) = 385
Snack: Toasted pita chips (100), 2 tbs hummus (40) = 140
Dinner: 2 ww bread (70), 1 tbs better n p. butter (50), 2 tbs sgf jelly (20), 1 c. ff milk(90), 1 c. frozen fruits (70) = 300
Dessert: none

Total calories for the day : 1380+40 = 1420

Exercise.:. morning: 30 min walk/jog (200 cal burn), evening: 30 min elliptical, 40 min boot camp (500 cal burn) = 700
 
My problem is I can't "take it easy". I either give everything I got ( that's why my countdown is) or I am concentrating on something else. So it will be a clear-cut on Dec. 22nd

As far as your love handles and belly - ha h aha just wait till baby number 2...this time around has been alot harder for me to do...after i had my youngest...

I think you are great and doing well and you will succeed no matter what:) Thank you I really appreciate the kind words... this forum has kept me going for a lot longer than I would have done it by myself.The most annoying thing is weight gain when I am soo on track. I can handle a no-loss week here and there but gain 2 lbs a week when I exercise my eye-balls out is just not fair..

I can't believe Christmas is so close.... seems like we just had one..

143.6 this morning. Up 1.4 lbs from last week. No other reason than last week's number must have been a fluke... no overeating and I busted my a$$ in the gym this week.
Oh, well today starts another week... should be better...
I already calculated my protein today and without dinner I am at 71 gr even. Happy about that.

Don't sweat it! We all know that the scale has a mind of it's own.
I think that you are doing FAB~TAB~U~LOUS!!!!
And knowing that you made all the right choices and worked out is all the encouragement that you need!!!!
 
Ok, I have to admit I was a little down earlier about the weight gain but pushed myself to go to the gym!! So worth it!!!
1 hr 20 min exercise, I hit the bike the first time ever and I feel great!!! I knew I had to get out of the house other-wise I would have over-eaten... So weird when I don't exercise I feel like eating everything and anything in sight... after a great-sweating.. I am not that hungry for the rest of the day.
Everything is back to normal. Made an awesome Kale sausage (veggie sausages of course) dish for lunch, so yummy, just finished it. Snack will be cottage cheese for protein... I am glad I like cottage cheese...
we are going over to friends house this afternoon, but no eating involved, lucky me!!

3 weeks and the challenge is over and Christmas will be here... unbelievable, where did the time go?
Ok, so after the gym I felt good again and kept on track with eating... closely watching my protein, I have now two numbers in () first is the calorie content and second is the protein...
Breakfast: 2 Waffles (158) (5), 2 tbs jelly (20), 4 tbs ff whip cream (30), 1 coffee (50),1 ff plain yogurt (80) (8) = 338
Snack: 1 c ff milk (90) (9), 1 c. frozen fruits (70)(1) = 160
Lunch: Kale with veggie Italian sausages (331) (25), 1 ff oatmeal raisin cookie (110) (1), =441
Snack: ½ c. cottage cheese (80) (12), 4 tbs ff whip cream (30), 1 tbs wheat germ(25) (2) = 135
Dinner: 1 Quorn chicken patty (150) (9), 2 ww bread (70) (4), 2 tbs najo (20), 2 slices of tomato and onions (10) = 250
Dessert: none

Total calories for the day : 1324
Exercise.:. 1 hr 20 minutes (600 cal burn), included 30 min bike, 15 min elliptical, 30 min circuit training and some strenght exercises.

Aunt Flo showed up just in time for my weigh in this morning, so I had NO Loss at all, and No gain, so I'm happy I guess. Like you, I busted ass at the gym this week, and when we see no weight loss, it gets a little frustrating, but I'm not going to let it get me down, at least our insides are getting better, are muscles are getting stronger and our hearts are getting healthier, so who cares about the pounds!! We will push harder this week and hopefully the both of us will come out a head, I have a good feeling about next week for both of us!!

Today was busy, cooking like a crazy, laundry, getting ready for next week!!
I had some devastating news about my grandfather. My dad called and said he is in the hospital and the doctors told them to prepare for the worst. It hurts me more as I can't even say good-bye to him (he lives in Hungary). I am hoping he can fight back just a little while longer. I am so glad I went to visit this year in May, he at least had a chance to see his great-granddaughter.

Breakfast: 1 c. egg beaters (120) (24), 1 c zucchini (30) (3), 2 ww bread (70) (4), 3 tbs sgf jelly (30), 1 coffee (50), 2 veggie bacon (60) (2) = 360
Snack: 1 ff oatmeal raisin cookie (110) (1), 20 grapes (32) = 142
Lunch: Kale with veggie Italian sausages (331) (25), 1 c. ff milk (90) (9) =421
Snack: 1 chock. Cake (90), 1 tbs jam (10), 2 tbs ff whip cream(15) = 115
Dinner: 4 slices baked tofu marinated in peanut sauce (238) (28.5) , 1 c. steamed broccoli (25), (3) sauce (30)= 293

Dessert: 2 honey wheat sticks (40), 1 jello pudding (60) = 100

Total calories for the day : 1431

Exercise.:. 32 min running (3 mi), 18 min turbo jam, 13 min boot-camp = 600 cal burn
 
ok, another decision I made this morning. On the days when I am going to the gym, I am not going to get up early and do exercises.
I am cutting back now, eventually reducing it to 4 days a week.
Weight is up majorly this morning, I have no idea why. I kept on track with food and exercised like a banshee yesterday. I am starting to get disgusted with this.
 
Stay strong!! Your body is messing with you, don't give in, fight it!! I'm sure you'll do well, maybe your retaining a lot of water, try to increase your fluids a little that might bring it back down. GO GRINCHETT!!!!!!!!

So sorry to hear about grandpa. :(
But like you said at least you got to see him in May.
Sorry that your having such a rough time this challenge. I imagine it has to be incrediably frustrating when you are this close to your goal.
Just take some relaxing time for you and maybe it will work itself out.

Hi Kim, Bella, Tammy, thanks for visiting. No news on my grandpa which i consider good news. My parents would only call me in emergency situations...

Yeah I think it is time to yank myself out of this self-pity I am in. So I locked the scale up after this morning's weigh in and not touching it until Saturday. Otherwise the number messes with my motivation for the day... I thought I was over that and used to the fluctuations but I can tell it effects me too much, so locked up it is.
Today was pretty good. Got up at 5.30 to exercise, hopped on the scale and it showed me something ugly which p*ed me off so I went right back to bed. That was silly I know but I just got so discouraged.
the day got better though. Got to work, was pretty quiet and busy so the day went fast.
Hit the gym after work, hopped on the bike for 25 min, then did my boot camp and went back to the bike for another 15 min. Had a great time at the gym, the ladies there always crack me up.
Stayed on track with eating.
Breakfast: 1/3 c. oat bran hot cereal (140) (8) , 1 tsp cinnamon (6), 1 banana (90) (1), 1/4 c. ff cottage cheese (40) (6), 2 tbs ff whip cream (15), 10 grapes (16) 1 coffee (50) = 357
Snack: 1 ww English muffin (100) (5), 1 tbs better n p.butter (50) (2), 1 tbs sgf jelly (10) =160
Lunch: 4 slices baked tofu marinated in peanut sauce (238) (28.5) , 1 c. steamed broccoli (25), (3) sauce (30), 1 orange (86) (2)= 379
Snack: 1 apple (100), 1 diet hot chocolate (25) (2) = 125
Dinner: Tacos made from TVP : ½ c. dry TVP (160) (24), taco seasoning, 1 tomato (10), lettuce (10), ¼ ff cheese (45) (9) 1 pita bread (60) (6) =280

Dessert: none
Total calories for the day : 1301+ 50 supplements= 1351
96.5 gr protein
Exercise.: 40 min bike (8.1 mile), 35 min boot-camp (680 cal total burn)
