Guideon's diary of change

Wow! Focus t 25! I'm dying to try that. How does it compare to 30ds?

Harder, definitely harder (though I never got to level 3 on 30ds, so maybe it's less of a step up from level 3).

Went running yesterday and it sucked :(
Had stomach cramps (probably had a bit too much salty liquorice at work), and my training schedule called for a slow placed run. I hate that, it feels like I'm doing something different when running at a slow pace, technique-wise. Starting to feel certain muscle groups and joints when I do that).
But at least I went so that's a positive.
And next time I'm out for a run, I'll pass the 300 km mark since I started :)

also weigh in today (forgot to do that yesterday): 196.8 no change since last week, which is good as I had made some bad food choices this week.

Hi Mandy, yeah I'm fine thanks for asking. Just not a lot to share the last few weeks.
Been running regularly, doing my cardio workouts. Weight is hovering around the 197 lbs mark.

Tried a new (well, new for me anyway) cardio workout program today.

did the workout in the morning, to get the metabolism up for the rest of the day.
good workout, just half an hour (incl warmup and cooldown) but pretty intense.

Saturday another 10k race.

Awesome! Glad you're doing well. I love Youtube! My go to now for free workout videos. I hope you see some results from this one. I'll have to take a peek at it tonight. :)

it's not the workout itself, maybe you can find that on youtube as well. I *ahem* found my copy elsewhere ;)

Good luck on the 10k of Saturday! (Assuming I'm not confusing things and you are talking on future, and not on past).

If I remember correctly, the girl on that video (Zuzana o Zuska) has 70 free workouts posted on youtube... One day, when I'm fit enough, I'll try those... Of all the people on Youtube I have seen, she is the one with the fittest body... so she must be doing something right...

You seem to be doing pretty well. Good luck with everything! :)

Athala, yes my race is this saturday. Thanks :)

I tried one of her workouts when I wasn't in such a good shape, couldn't walk straight for three day because I was so sore :D
Now I can keep it with her a bit better.
And you're right, her body is the visible result of all her efforts.
I also love her accent :blush5:

I'm not sure what time of the day it is where you live, but it's just after noon on Saturday here. I have no clue if you've already had your race or not, but wanted to wish you luck anyway. :)

Hah thanks, how sweet of you to think of my race :)

Raceday was pretty fun, met up with my running friends of the internet again. Also pretty good weather to run.
Bit crowded at the start (why do ppl have to elbow their way to the front?) but it smoothed out after the first km.
Didn't get into a comfortable pace, it was a bit of slowing down and accelerating all race long. And my heartrate monitor was giving me false readings, so that didn't help either.
But when I came up on the finish I saw the clock and knew I would set a new personal best, almost a minute quicker than a few weeks ago.
So it was a good day after all.

This week I have to start watching my food intake again. Over the last few weeks some bad habits have started to develop. I'm snacking again on times I shouldn't. Bit annoying and not easy to stop.

And I'm very excited about the vacations and getaways coming up.
From this sunday, I'll be spending my next weekends in London, New York and Miami. Whoooo baby, so looking forward to that :D

Struggling a little bit the last few weeks, specially in the evenings.
Even though I try to resist buying junkfood, I always seem to find some to feast on.

Did a better job yesterday, reminding myself that was how I got fat in the first place, not knowing when when you had enough.
Now just have to keep it up!

Enjoy your trip to the states. I'd come visit, but I think I'm a shorter distance to Lucy and Cate than I am to Miami and New York. :)

I completely understand about developing bad habits. I’m trying to right the ship for myself right now too. You’re 100% right, it’s not easy! Just take it day by day. Today is my 2nd day with no junk food. Baby steps, but a big success I think. ?

I hope you enjoy your trip. New York is *almost* right next to me. I’m in NH. I’ve been to NH once, last year actually for a hot air balloon festival at Glenn Lake. It was a beautiful area. Never been to Miami. I hope you like it. ?

Great weather here today, so got the bike out of the shed, and did a nice round of 50 km.
Tomorrow a light running training, then it's off to London on sunday, to see the Steelers play the Vikings, a miserable matchup between two 0-3 NFL teams :p
Then next week it's off to NY :hurray:

did have a snack moment tonight, that's not good...
