Guideon's diary of change

Horrible weekend, way too much beer.
Can't hold my liquor as I used to, which is good I suppose. Now I just have to remember that, so I don't have to find out again :D
Insanity pure cardio today, felt good.

Yeah the change in alcohol tolerance for me has been almost as extreme as the weight loss. I have to be very careful now.

Welcome back! I hope your knee holds up much better now. I've also been in a funk and am probably back in the 200's, but my issue is all mental not physical. LOL

Anyway, I find I do better with keeping on track when I post here. Not sure if it's the same for you or not, but I hope you'll stick around. I'm going to try my hardest to stick around. :)

thanks Mandy.
I do feel that it's easier when you get a little support, for me mainly for the workouts (not the running, I've become a running addict :p). a simple well done or great work goes a long way, that's why a community as this is a great support tool!

feel like crap, all my energy has ebbed away during the day, so no run tonight.
Gonna bench myself with some tea and hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

I hope you feel better soon. Alcohol negatively impacts all of our fitness goals. That isn't to say that it can't be part of your healthy lifestyle, but it isn't helping. I've successfully replaced the ethanol buzz with the runner's high. It's cheaper too (until you get a Suunto).

Just feeling like a little cold is grabbing hold.
Had a craving to turn to comfort food, but successfully resisted that urge.
Hopefully a good night's sleep will help.

Q, you're so right about alcohol. Still a big battle to be won there, love my Belgian beers and much of my friends love their alcohol as well.

Well sleep didn't help.
Woke up middle of the night, throbbing headache and throat on fire :(
First time since one and a half year I had to call in sick.

Feeling a little bit better this afternoon, and so I decided to do an Insanity training.
Choose the "recovery" week cardio and balance exercise, but still worked up a sweat.
Didn't want to do a full on Insanity work out, that would take away energy from my immune system which I need to get rid off this cold.
But also didn't want to sit on the couch and feel sorry for myself (-> road to comfort food).
Think this was good middle ground, working out and now I want to eat healthy food.

Glad you're feeling a bit better. I can relate on the road to comfort food. I was super tired yesterday from lack of sleep so I didn't run. I ate more and worse than I had in a while because I was tired and cranky. Nothing unhealthy (only because I had nothing in the house unhealthy), but more calories than I needed.

Way to fight it!

Pfft terrible night. But feeling a little bit better than yesterday, neck-check this afternoon, and if all is well I'm going for a run.

Weigh in today: 193.6. Big 5 pound drop. Not sure if it is because of the cold this week. but I'll take it :)

I just realized that today's weight is a milestone or two:
lightest since a long time (guessing 18 years at least, never bothered to weigh in college)
And total weight loss since I started on this journey: 80 lbs :smash:

Happy camper :D

Awesome job on the weightloss Guideon! Sorry you are still feeling poorly. You are way away from the 200 pound mark in one big drop. Nice!

Thanks Q!

Feeling pretty OK now, good enough to go back to work tomorrow.
Going out to diner with some colleagues tomorrow, so no time to do do Insanity after work.
But I do want to do it (specially regarding the diner), so I guess I have to get up early tomorrow and get it done then.

Pfft that was hard!
Alarm went off at 06.00 this morning and I really didn't want to get up, let alone do a workout.
Head full of mucus, little bit of a sore throat still, I didn't want to leave my bed.
But laying around and feeling sorry for myself won't get me anywhere.
So dragged my ass out of bed, did the Insanity Cardio Plyometrics workout.
Felt pretty good afterwards!
Back at work today.

Turned out to be a great night yesterday.
All my male colleagues bailed on me, so I had a night out on the town with 11 women :p Great fun!
Had a very yummie pasta for dinner, skipped desert (proud :) ). Had a few beers (off course) but not nearly as much as "normal" (as in: a guy's night out).

Today Spring really has begun here, already went for a run (and going tomorrow as well). Beautiful weather, so what happens? I get invited for a BBQ :D
Not that worried about it, it's gonna less meaty than your usual BBQ, the people who are having us over are very sensible eaters!

Have a great weekend everyone!

BBQ was good, maybe a bot mire meat than anticipated, so today a trail run:
19.68 Km 1:55:38
Beautiful weather in a great nature park. really enjoyed it!

Blegh, I was thinking that cold was over, but it came back with a vengeance.
Even a trip to the supermarket is too much of an effort today. Hoping it passes soon.
