Good eats... at least, they once were.

I tried taking benefiber for a time, but I didn't see any real benefit for the calories. A bowl of oatmeal, a bag of popcorn, an apple, a potato cooked in the skin...those all provide lots of fiber and taste good too. If I'm going to consume calories, I want flavor too.

Those fiber one bars and cereals are supposed to provide a healthy dose of fiber for the calories, but i'm not much of a cold cereal/granola bar kinda gal. You might be....

I'm not. haha

At the risk of sounding ignorant, what are some more high-fiber foods?

Hi Lilly.... :) Sorry, I wasn't gone on purpose or neglect this time. Just got out of the hospital yesterday, I was sick :( Much better now, or at least I'm getting there. I haven't gained or lost anything which is okay, I haven't been doing much in the hospital. Wow, you're at 194 now!!! Awesome!!! I'm so proud of you!! Keep up the good work! :yay:

Glad to see you're doing great!!! That weight is just melting off of you my dear... Yes, I was in the hospital- I had gastritis or something like that. I'm pretty much better now:) Big KUDOS for the grades!!! That's awesome! And as for the FRIES... remember this is a lifestyle change and I don't think anyone here is willing to go the rest of their life without french fries every now and then!!! Don't be so tough on your self... as long as it fits into your calories you're all good:coolgleamA: :seeya:

As for fiber, I love the fiberone foods as well as lots of fresh fruits and veggies, and bread with added fiber *Num!*

Okay. I have decided that I'm going to introduce 1 meal a week of healthy, vegetarian food to my diet. This way even if I don't go vegetarian right away, soon, or even in the next couple of years (or ever), then I'll have some healthy standbys instead of ham on flatbread with Diet soda. I would really like to go vegetarian, but I've never had the will power to. My mom thinks this is just another phase, but she's happy I'm going to try to eat healthy.

hehe, I went on a vegetarian kick for about 3 months once... didn't work for me!

Blahhhh... I got a 90% on my psych test. I mean, it's an A, but I really wanted at least a 92%. :(

Anke: I've tried to be a vegetarian before, but I haven't had the will power. And I didn't like veggies. That can be a real problem.

This time, I'm going to slowly introduce yummy veggie dishes and give myself time and a little bit of leeway. And if I don't become a full vegetarian, that's OK. I'm just going to take it one day at a time, just like this whole weight loss thing. I'm doing it partly because of the animals, but I really just want to see if it's possible for me, kind of like testing my will power. And I want to learn to like veggies and tofu and all that sort of stuff.

So yeah, if I do, then I do, if I don't, then at least I tried.

So if anyone has some yummy healthy veggie dishes, let me know!

well... I can't get the scale to stay at 192.5. It keeps wandering up to 193.8. :banghead:

No progress with the veggies, too lazy to cook something I've never cooked before. :ack2:

I've even lowered my calories to 1350! I guess I need to start walking again. :nopity:

I just had a yummy boca veggie sausage (13 grams of protein for 130 calories!)

Soo.. still procrastinating. Not good.

ah, almost. The scale is being a bitch and going up to 194.8 and going down to 192.8, then back up, then up even higher, then back down again. then back up.:cuss:
