Ha. I woke up at 10:00 am (I was trying to sleep in but for some reason-- probably the congestion-- I couldn't get to back to sleep) and I came downstairs, and promptly fell asleep until 1:30. I couldn't keep my eyes open.

I'm feeling ok right now, but I've discovered a miraculous product. Anti congestion nose spray. (I'm not sure if that's actually what it's called, but that's what it does!) It's amazing. It kind of burns my nose at first, but then it's like a miracle and I can BREATHE! It doesn't get rid of all the congestion-- my ears are still plugged-- but it is seriously amazing. I only have one more day to use it though, because the container says you should only use it for 3 days max. :(

Ha... not even going to attempt the treadmill, though. I can picture an asthma attack when I get to 10%.... and I don't have asthma. haha...

My fitday says I'm burning a little over 2700 cal a day, even without exercise. Does that sound right? It doesn't sound right to me. Are there any sites I can use to see if I get a more accurate reading? What would I put my activity level at? As soon as I get over this I'm going back to 5-6 times a week (around 400-600 cal each time), but right now I'm not exercising, so I don't think I'm actually burning that much... am I?

That is a link to a site that will calculate your BMR. Your Basal Metabolic Rate. That is the number of calories you could eat if you sat on the couch all day and did nothing and you would maintain your weight.

There is another calculator just below it for your AMR. Your Active Metabolic Rate. That is the number of calories you could eat in a day with the amount of activity you do and you would maintain your weight. So in other words, that's the number of calories you are probably burning in a day that you exercise.

For that number of calories, if you make a 500 calorie/day deficit from that number (say 250 cals of exercise and 250 less from that number as your calorie intake for the day) you will lose about 1 lb a week. If you want to lose 2 lbs a week you could do a 500 calorie exercise and subtract 500 from your AMR as the amount of calories you would eat in a day. You could also burn 1000 calories with exercise and just eat the number of calories that your AMR is and you would still lose 2 lbs a week.

Hopefully that helps you out a bit. If you have trouble entering everything just post your stats and I'll do it for you :)

Yea I got some nasal spray last week and it saved my butt. For once it never reached my lungs. As for the BMR calculators I just googled and looked through a ton until I found one that added in activity but there are some where you can actually figure do more detailed. So like you can do sleep 8 hours at whatever calories it is, sitting for so many, exercise etc. Don't remember where I found it though :X Awesome on the weight loss :D I still seriously think you look so cute in your avatar pic.

I'm having difficulty with fitday. It seems it's using my Active Metabolic Rate even on days I'm not actually "Active," and it's throwing off my calorie balance. AND when I do exercise, it ADDS the calories burned to the AMR. Is that what you're supposed to do? It doesn't seem right.

I caught it after a couple of days during which I ate about 500 cal too much each day, bringing me to a 0 cal deficit. Gah.

anyhow, thanks for the link, it helped in figuring out that whole fitday thing

Basically it's gotta be pretty accurate though cuz it said for the calories I'm eating now I'd lose around 2 pounds a week, which I have been. What's nice though is I was able to plug in 3 pounds a week, which is what I'd like to lose and it showed me I'd have to cut my calories down by 500 a week or up the exercise. So it confirmed what I've been thought already that I need to start my exercise routine now. Very helpful, thanks so much for the link :) ~Lisa

Well, good news. Claire's in treatment in AZ for her eating disorder, and Cally's home, hopefully safe and sound.

My granddad's been a bit unsteady on his feet as of late, and he's fallen a number of times, according to Lyn. :(

I hope he's ok.

I don't often ask this, but please pray for my Granddad, George Lilly. He's such an awesome man... it really would be heartbreaking to lose him.

Just wanted to poke around and say Hey once again! it sounds like youve been under a tremendous amount of stress with family, and school, and being sick. But it looks like you finally made it to the 170's! So thats what counts right! Stick with it hunny, and I know depression sucks, but maybe you could talk to your doctor about it and maybe get another prescription or up the meds? I know thats helped me, because being depressed makes me just want to lay in bed all day and not do anything! Boo--Feelings!

Yeah, she's my cousin. Thanks so much :) My visit with him went pretty well, but he's going to need someone there ALL the time... No one's really figured anything out yet, but we know something's going to have to change. Soon.

Ah, my depression comes and goes, interspersed with anxiety and irritation... there is a good amount of happiness in there, that's pretty much the majority of my mood state, but it's all a part of the bipolar disorder which I'm blessed with. :ack2: Upping my meds helps when I'm suicidally depressed, but if I'm not, it just makes me really anxious and aggravated. Thanks for your kind thoughts. :)

HA! Can you believe it?! They closed Frederick County Public schools, so my mom's home all day.... AND THEN.... THEY CLOSED THE COLLEGE!!

My mom and I went to fashion bug, and I got 2 new pairs of jeans and a few shirts.

Fashion bug has some weird sizing thing now where I'm a "red size 2" but I've been looking around on some sizing charts and a 36" waist (which is apparently what I have- that's the waist size for a size 2 red) is a 14!!! YAYYYY!!!
oh, and the woman who was measuring me said something that made me feel really good. She said "I would never have pegged you as a plus size. You don't look it at all." :D

BAHAHAHAHAHA! YESSSS!

Of course, as great as that was, I totally pigged out on Saturday and sunday. Saturday I had a ham and cheese omelet, a caramel, a scone, a milky way candy bar, and a 280cal bag of chips.
Sunday I had 2 donuts, a popcorn chicken and fries combo with a powerade slush from sonic, and then 2 legs and lots of dark meat from some rotisserie chickens we bought at the grocery store, plus sundried tomato alfredo with 1 1/2 cups pasta....

I need to break this streak... I splurged on breakfast... 3 pancakes with butter and syrup, 2 eggs, and a piece of ham, and then an individual bag of cheese curls (150 cal) and an individual bag of chips (105 cal) and some fiber drink mixed with protein drink mixed with sugarfree hawaiian punch (80 cal all together), :p So now I'm having microwave soup for dinner. Bah.

All together-- 1660cal (not too bad, but I'm trying to run at a deficit-- treadmill, anyone?)

Blahhh..

I'm hungryyyyyy... off for some food (but not too much...:rolleyes:)
