Good-Bye Past - Hello Tomorrow!

Hi Cinderelly! :hug2:

Thanks so much.

>>>

They don't allow that around here bc I've asked.

Once I heard the stupid prices of the gym membership, I asked about the price for the use of the pool - spin bike.

Each place just laughed and said,

"WHAT?

We do not offer that bc we are not baby sitters.

We'd have to follow everyone around making sure they were not using other equipment and going into classes."

I was told this of course in different ways at 24 Hour Fitness - Bally's - USA Fitness - Golds - YMCA {they were nice about it and just said they don't offer that) - and several others...

I'm so happy they do that where you live! :hug2:

Kim:

No luck with the paper or on-line.

Same thing as mentioned re: craigs list.

:seeya:

City / County parks department? The Tulsa parks have rec centers with fitness rooms, and the drop-in charge is really cheap - like $2 per session (or $25 for 20 sessions).

I haven't seen any of the for-profit health clubs or Y's around here that did drop-in pricing.

ETA: I suspect the parks department rec centers of having ancient creaky equipment, because everything else about them is ancient and creaky.

So sorry to hear that you aren't able to get into a membership somewhere.
:angelsad2:
I know exactly how you feel when it comes to a tight budget. If it wasn't for the fact that I now work at the Y then I wouldn't be able to be there either.
We'll just have to pray that something will come available for you.
There is a recycle group that we run here in our town that I know goes country wide 'cuz it was started in Arizona. In fact Sweatpea is the moderator for the group. Perhaps you can see if you have one of those in your area. It's called "Freecycle". Try Googling it and see what happens. And don't forget when you do find it to look at surrounding areas as well. Not just your town.
Just an idea.

Hey that is so stupid...im sorry but it is...We have a gym tha tyou can pay drop in prices and that you can just join and start with monthly payments no down payments ... Im sorry to hear they dont do any of that out there...But definately check out the freecycle:)we do a recycle here same idea...

Hi Stacy

I hope that you are having a good Tuesday.

I am pleased that your bite has eased a bit. They can be very painful. I got some beautiful bites when we were in Greece. They have worse insects than here because it is hotter weather.

You were really restrained with your calories on Cory's birthday celebration day. I'm proud of you. It doesnt matter too much about the bonus (it looks like quite a few people have given in to temptation) but for your weight loss project there is nothing wrong with your calorie total for that day.

It would be great if we had the use of a treadmill or exercise bike - but until that day we can go out and walk. I know that Zu-zu would actually enjoy the walk better than watching you on an exercise bike.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Tell me about spiders! I am not a big fan of them, and when we lived in Australia, they were huge. Huntsman/wolf spiders that look like tarantulas. I would find them in the house all the time. It totally freaked me out until I discovered that they weren't poisonous. Still, you cannot just squash them against the wall b/c they are so big. You'll have a nasty mess of spider guts...blah! So you have to get a jar or something and trap them in it and release them. I always made H do it several houses down so they wouldn't just come right back in...lol. The neighbors probably did the same thing...:smilielol5:

That sucks about the gyms in your area. I cannot believe there isn't a single affordable decent exercise bike around. I do agree with Margaret, however, in that ZuZu would probably prefer to take a walk with her mama than to watch her on a bike..lol.

So glad your bite is getting better. :)

Oooh--it's TLD!! :party::party:

Cinderelly: It does stink, lol!
RE: The Pita, I melt the cheese inside pita in the toaster oven while I'm cooking the eggs. Once the eggs are ready, I just spoon them inside pita. :)

Margaret: The bite is all well now thank goodness.
ZuZu gets potty walks everyday. Of course most of the time, the time is so short, I don't count it.
Even if I get indoor equipment, she will still get potty walks and walks w/me when I do it for exercise. ;)

Kimberly: Thanks.. :hug2:

LOL @ all the spider talk.
I can't stand them!

freecycle.org is another option - it's a great place to unload crap and if you ask nicely sometiimes people will have what you are looking for..

Yep Cita..Been checkin'..

LOL Mal.. Isn't that the truth?!

My LiL Rant:

I think it's so stupid that there has to be "contracts" and that membership fee's have to be so expensive at gyms!

More people would go and get in shape I think if they could afford it.

I'm starting to find out "again" that it's very hard to keep a strict routine at home. There are to many freakin' interruptions{sp?} and side tracks!

My hubby is driving me insane as well.

We have really hit a bad patch..(the first time in our 14-year marriage!)

I try to get him involved with me and he has no interest.
(even though he needs to take off just as much weight as I do!)

BUT, he is causing problems with my routine and it's starting to piss me off.

Sometimes I feel like it's on purpose bc he doesn't want me to reach goal and have success.

He slipped up the other day and made the comment:

"Once you reach goal you'll probably go find you a fit/younger man."

He then laughed liked it was supposed to be a joke.

I don't think talk like that is funny and I find it insulting bc it's like saying I'm that type of person that would do that.

So, we got in a fight bc I let him know what I thought about it.

Every since the first of Dec. (when he got ill) until now, he has been so strange.

He stays on my ass about stupid things and is also very snappy with mean comments sometimes and a poor attitude.

I dread his time off now.

It should not be like that and it scares me!

This is the first time we've had these type of issues.

He goes back to work tonight. (he's sleeping of course.)

I hope OT is posted so he won't be off for a while.

That hurts for me to say that, but I need a freakin' break.

I also do so much better with exercise and eating when he's not up my ass and tempting me w/excuses.

SOOOOO - the point is I would love to get the heck out of here and be able to go spend time at a gym!

if you have a ballys near you sign up for the discovery health challenge -gives you 8 weeks for free... lock the rugrats in a closet...

What is the catch Mal?

There has ta be a catch.. 8 weeks free? .. lol

>>>>>

I gotta go...

I'm in such a SOUR mood!

Our apt. complex has hired worker's to replace firewalls in the attic's and add new ventilation within the attic's.

Of course we had to throw a fit and have them work it around hubby's sleep bc he works a 12-hour-nightshift and sleeps during the day.

They will do ours on Monday {when he's off), but of course they are doing the others today in our building.

ZuZu is about to get on my last nerve with all the barking.

It has ruined my whole morning/early afternoon.

I'm havin' to move her around and try to keep her freakin' quiet bc hubby is sleeping.

They were told to please try and be respectful for today and of course they don't give a crap.

We know they can't tip toe around, but they are not even giving an effort.

They sound like elephants stomping/running up-down the stairs - yelling/hollering right by our window (off the stairs/and by front door) - etc.

ZuZu is a protective guard dog and thinks she is helping by barking/yelping non-stop.

I have had to stop typing this 5 x already to try and shut her up.

I dread Sunday now bc we have to remove everything from the master closet so they can work.

Our closet is like a garage since we live in an apt.

All my storage tubs holding C-Mas-Other Holiday's-Clothes-etc are in there. Not to mention a ton of yard sale items that are ready/waiting for spring. (I will have a yard sale at my parents.)

This will be such a nightmare!

Anyway, I have to go bc she just won't shut up.

I'll be back later to catch up once they are finished w/our building!

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Hi Stacy

When I last was a member of a gym near here it cost an absolute fortune. I dont think that I would want to spend that type of money.

I am sorry that you are having problems with hubby. I have heard other girls on the forum have that kind of "are you going to look for someone better when you get to goal?" comment from their hubbys. Dont take it as an insult - but more a sign of his insecurity. Men do sometimes tease each other and I think that they sometimes worry if there might be a grain of truth in the teasing. Reassurance is probably the best answer. The fact is that we know how much you care for hubby.

As you know - I know all about having a hubby who has as much weight to lose as myself. The fact is that we may have taken the decision to address our weight problems in a determined fashion - but that does not mean that they have made that same decision - or if they have they may not choose to be as determined in their approach. The fact is - we all know only too well - weight loss is something that can only be done when we are ready to do it. Possibly your hubby recognises that he would be healthier if he lost some weight - but feels a little guilty because he is not ready to make that giant effort to do something about it.

Take care
Love
Margaret

hey sorry to hear you are not having a good day. i can remember the builders making a riot when we were getting building works done a few years back and having the radio on extra loud. i think it's just their way. we used to spend the day at rellies and come back when they had gone.

hope you feel better soonand have a good day...whatevers left of it.

;-)

Oh sweetheart I'm sorry your having such troubles within the home, I hope it works itself out real soon for you. I'm beginning to believe it's just one of those days. Seems like several of us on here are dealing with some stressful stuff today. I think for a short time Bell's hubby was having some issues with her weight loss and working out, if I recall, but it worked itself out to in time, I actually think he started joining her in the mix of things. You know those comments by your H are his OWN insecurities, NOT YOU! I'm sure he's just concerned that more guys are going to be noticing and probably hitting on you and well guys are Territorial and they have a hard time dealing with those things, even though in my mind it's a COMPLIMENT when someone says something good about your spouse, and my H feels the same way, actually he says YEAH she's hot and she's mine. LOL LOL it's so funny! I think in time he will get used to the weight loss and it will go back to normal, give him some time. And at least the workers will be done soon, so ZuZu won't be so stressed out either, bless her heart!

Well Sunshine girl, I hope you get a nice walk in today, maybe that will help relieve some stress too. And I'll hope that the H gets plenty of OT. LOL LIL
Hugs and love

Thank gosh they left about 20 mins ago.

I have had to deal w/this for 7 hours!

Oh how I look forward to our turn on Monday.

I'm beyond freakin' stressed out.
This has caused me to have a horrible panic attack as well.

I always feel faint/ill after one.

This has been such a horrible day.

Poor ZuZu is worn out as well and finally passed out on the love seat.

I'm going to take a super long bubble bath by candle light - heat up my WW dinner and make veggie side/salad - and watch movies the rest of the night.

I'll catch up w/you guys tomorrow.

I need to chill out asap bc I feel another attack on its way..

Have a great night y'all.

Talk to ya tomorrow.
