Thanks guys - I'm glad this week is over. I have felt like such a whiner and complainer, etc. My workout this morning was awful (my day for that matter) - and I think it was all mental.
Out of sorts getting up 4:20 am on a Friday - did my workout with the trainer and about 40 min in, was just having a devil of a time - feeling dizzy, faint, like I just didn't have any gas left in the tank. She even commented that it is not like me - and I acknowledged that I knew I could do it - it's not like she asked me to climb Everest! Then arrived at work and started my day at 100 mph and it didn't stop.
Good points to the day:
Had 2 deer cross the road in front of me on the way to workout this morning (I am amazed everytime I see them - love it!)
Completed my workout
Met a friend for lunch - wonderful to take 45 min in the middle of the day for nice conversation
Had dinner with family tonight - bonus - they had pictures there from Sept. - I can definitely see the weight loss from then to now. Unofficially at 25 lbs down now.
Came home and checked email - and got the best laugh of the day. Photos from the 5k were emailed out (they want you to purchase them of course) - I totally love that I can laugh at myself and not be embarrassed like I thought I would be. Did not look at all of the photos - but 2 of them were as I neared the finish line - I looked like I was going to drop at any moment (kinda how I was feeling then too).
On another note - on our way to from the parking lot to the restaurant tonight there was a group of 20 something's (I referred to them as hoodlums - as they looked like they were up to no good) started whistling and cat calling. I ignored them - but thought it was strange as there was no other female in the area - then figured they were poking fun of me. DH made a comment after we entered the restaurant about it - of course in a positive light to me. I thought that was very sweet of him - but I still think they were poking fun.
It is funny- I felt tired like that all last week. Maybe it is the time of year- don't know what the weather is like there but it has GOT to be better than ours. Some days I don't want to get out of bed, never mind run.
I don't know how old you are but you know you are getting older when you refer to 20 somethings as hoodlums. I do that all the time-LMAO. Pretty soon I can see myself calling them young whippersnappers- like my Grandfather did.
Cowboy - I think you get my gold star for the week. I looked for every excuse in the book - and found it to just sit down and skip the workout tonight. After reading your post here - and making me laugh out loud, I am going to finish the reply and get my rear upstairs to run. THANK YOU!!!!!
You would scoff at me for even complaining about weather here - I live in Southern California and we are a cool 60 something degrees right now. I know boohoo for me. Give it a few months and I'll be complaining that it is in the 80's +.
So - I'm currently 38 - and yes, I feel old. Cracking up on the whippersnappers - I'm sure I'll be tossing that out soon.
Well - finished my run last night, did some ab work, and practiced doing a plank (is that the proper way to write it?). I feel better for it.
Scale this morning - 234.5 - woohoo - heading in the right direction (as opposed to not moving or going the wrong way).
Workout bright and early this morning was terrific. Felt like my shoulders were going to fall off - I know - how is that even possible? and arm maybe - but shoulders? Feeling all better now.
Was going to try and get in a few minutes of jumping rope - but have a hair appt. So after my run tomorrow, I'm going jump rope after.
Charlie - If a full plank is without knees - yes, that is what I am doing (or attempting to). 30 seconds seems to be forever - I did a min over the weekend - but must have not been in proper form.
Is a press up the same as a push up? - if so, trainer has me do those - no knees on floor. I dislike them very much. It takes all I can to get to 15 (the first few are not bad) - and then I have to do 3 sets.
I need to figure out what is going on in my head - I have been looking for any excuse to not workout (although during the day, I look forward to getting home for my run). Well tonight I found an excuse - I had to clean out my car as I will be taking it to the shop for front and rear brakes, and a major service - and then new tires. I convinced myself that since it is an early bed night, I would have just enough time to do that and cook dinner. (popped on here while dinner is cooking).
I will be at the trainer in the morning and I WILL do some cardio tomorrow night!!!

CB - thanks for the yell...I think I'm gonna take a page from your book and set another goal - I think I'm going to pick another 5k to do soon. Have to share - wasn't I just complaining about the yucky weather? Well - we hit into the 90's today - ugh....and we are supposed to really cool off by the weekend.
Workout this morning was awesome. I've decided kettlebell swings are my absolute favorite. April is going to be a tough month with spending (income and 1/2 property taxes due) - I think I'm going to sign up for a kettlebell class in May - I hear it is a fantastic workout. She also had me do a new tricep exercise - a one arm pull down with a rope (off of a machine) - boy was that challenging - and confirmed once again that my right side is stronger than my left. I found that during reps 12-15 of each set, my mind was telling my arm to push down - but I could not push - no matter how hard I tried - she ended up having to reduce the weight by 5 lbs (started at 30 lbs - not bad for 1 arm - I think). And she found a new way to torture me with an ab workout - I'm still amazed. Even though I don't note all my workout, I do work biceps, triceps, back, chest, legs, and abs every session (as I do weight training every other day).
Stacy - good luck with kicking those lbs to the curb for good! We'll be here rooting you on.
Congrats on your first house - very exciting. And Yay for the 'Still counting after all these years'!

So excited - we had 2 rebate cards come in the mail - I've been wanting to get a kettlebell of my own. I was telling hubby about a set 5-20 lbs for slightly more than the one I was going to get - he said I should get the set. So I did - we picked them up last night. My workout today....you guessed it....kettlebell.
I only used the 5lb one today - as I was trying a new workout and wanted to make sure I didn't over do it. I did 200 swings in 11 min (30 sec swing, 30 sec rest), then 3 sets with 15 reps each of - deadlifts, bicep curls, tricep dips (?), shoulder raises, back rows (?), oblique twists - then without the kettlebell - crunches for upper abs and kick outs for lower abs. Finished off with two 30 second planks (which I thought were going to kill me).
Getting ready to make stuffed veggie peppers for dinner tonight - new recipe - hope it is good....takes 4 hours (in the slow cooker). eek.
Cowboy - we are back in the high 60's, low 70's this weekend - talk about random weather.....
Greetings - well, it hit the mid 80's today. Was going to go for a run outside, but when I got home, it felt quite a bit warmer - I happened to walk into the backyard and it felt really nice (face's EAST - so no sun in the afternoon). Decided today would be a good day to get in that jump rope session I've been bantering about.
Jumped/rested for 20 min - kicked my behind, but it felt good. I think I averaged alternating jumping/resting for 45 secs at a time (around 60-75 jumps). I found my feet getting sore - a strange pulling sensation in my arches - nothing serious. Also really felt it in my calves when I got going on a good stretch of jumps.
Would've loved to add in more kettlebell swings - but I want to run it by the trainer first to make sure it is ok for me to do those daily (using a lesser weight on my non lifting days).
Food - not fantastic - was planning steamed veggies for dinner - but hubby decided it was too late to make dinner - so I decided on cereal (the veggie bag is perfect for 2). No sooner do I get the milk on my cereal, hubby decides he wants a frozen pizza! That took longer to microwave than it was going to take to steam the veggies. ugh - oh well.
Oh - on the stuffed veggie peppers - never got a chance to try them - apparently I let the peppers sit too long in the fridge - they spoiled. darn....I'm planning to try again next Sunday.
