Going for it.

Dinner:
- 1 fried pork chop
- 1 scoop mashed potatoes
- 1 scoop corn
- 1 piece buttered bread
- 1 beer

Exercise: From 10:00-12:00, I've been playing a video game. But each time I get a new turn, I do five modified pushups. Just a little something to supplement my resistance training from earlier in the day, and work off that pork chop. :D

Nice on the video game trick. I've been trying to force myself to do 15 minutes of cruches/leg lifts/push ups while watching 15 minutes of food network (my fav) before I go to bed. It's worked for a few days. Helps if I commit to doing it on thedailyplate in the morning by adding it.
You said you're from Alabama right? (or am I just crazy)? Where abouts? My dad was born in Tuscaloosa (sp?).

I'm originally from Huntsville in northern Alabama, and that's where I'm at right now, but I've lived in Tuscaloosa and Auburn. (I went to both of the major universities there. :D)

Breakfast:
- bowl of Special K

Lunch:
- peanut butter sandwich on wheat
- small bowl of chips (argh.)

Dinner-to-be:
- Mongolian beef
- Garlic chicken wings
- hot & sour soup
- white steamed rice

(Didn't do very good on my fruits and vegetables today. I'll try to make up for it by having a salad for lunch tomorrow.)

I went and did my 30 minutes of cardio before me and my mother went to see I Am Legend. Awesome flick, but it's a tearjerker in spots. I am proud to say that I only had a bottled water at the movie theater, and not a single kernel of popcorn or candy passed my lips, either. I didn't feel like sabotaging myself after working my butt off at the gym right before we left.

I fit into a pair of (very small) 12s today that I haven't been able to fit into in a few months as well as a really cute shirt that I've rarely worn because I didn't think it looked good on me before, so that was a nice surprise. I actually looked pretty damned good in it tonight.

Maybe I can start fitting back into some of my other clothes now too. It would be nice not to have to wear my "fat" jeans all the time.

My grandparents stopped by the house today and my grandmother commented on how I look like I've lost weight, and how my face is getting slimmer. She asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and I said workout clothes. The pants I was wearing on my way out the door to go to the gym look like they were made by Omar the tent maker in the rear now.

Yay for a shrinking tush! :D

:waving: Maverick
Sounds like you are doing FANTASTICALLY well with your exercise, and being very aware of what you are eating, too! I say good on ya for ditching the scale for a while. I certainly have been nothing but disappointed and ready to toss mine through the bathroom window this past month, showing no loss at all. :banghead:

However, like yourself, I do sense that I am shrinking! I am not doing any weights/strength training other than my daily sit ups and modified push ups, but they are doing something. And you know how much I just loooove sweating on my old treadmill ;) Wouldn't we be a grand pair at the gym, all red-faced and dripping, looking ready to drop from a coronary at any moment!:drooling: LOL

Anyway, keep up the great work! Thanks for dropping by my diary, too.

cheers,
ABBA

Breakfast:
- small bunch of grapes
- carrot
- cup of coffee w/ sugar and 2% milk

(See? I told ya I was going to get some of those fruits and veggies in there today, come hell or high water. :D)

Now we're off to pick up a Christmas tree before it starts to pour down rain. I'm getting rushed out the door, so that's why I don't get any cereal. My parents are officially disgusted that I would eat a carrot for breakfast. But at least I am making time to eat something.

Oh yeah. And I'm wearing a pair of 10 size jeans to go there, too. ;)

Lunch: (There goes my salad, but oh well...I wasn't anticipating anyone cooking anything for lunch...I'll eat one at dinner...)
- 2 biscuits
- 2 pieces of bacon
- small mound of scrambled eggs

Thanks for the encouragement, Abba and Mal! I'm constantly floored by how supportive the people on this forum are.

And thanks for dropping by! :D

Got some new pics up on my in-between thread in the Before/After forum, so it was encouraging to see the difference.

Don't know if I'll make it to the gym today because we're going to have to be decorating and all that, but I'm going to do my damnedest to get over there at some point. I need to, because it's supposed to be a weight training day, and if I don't go today, I'll sure regret it when I have to work my butt off double-time tomorrow...

your new pics in your sassy size 10s are OUTSTANDING missy...

you are a knockout! Seriously!!!

Not photogenic my butt.. you are so adorable :D

Snack: (last night)
- Tom Collins
- Starbucks Mocha Frappucino (prepackaged)
[Yeah, that's REAL nutritious...]

Dinner: (last night)
- 2 hot dogs
- small bowl of chili (w/ cheddar)
- too many crackers
[In case no one could tell, chili night is one of my downfalls...heh.]

Exercise: Yup. :D 30 minutes of cardio on the Nautilus. I was going to lift weights last night, but since I upgraded my cardio (went from 3.0 to 3.5, and boy, you can tell the difference!!!) I was too drained when I got off to finish my workout with another half hour, so weights will have to wait. As long as I got thirty minutes a day, I feel accomplished.

I'm posting some new pics in the Before/After section because I had a major body change this morning. It's getting to where I can't even recognize my own face when I get up to brush my teeth. I tried on a couple more pairs of my 10 size pants today and it's officially not a fluke - I am down into a 10 from an uncomfortable 14 that I ballooned into these last few months.

It's a good day for a breakthrough, too, because I'm going back to Tuscaloosa for a few days to visit some friends. I'm staying with my best friend in the whole world who goes to school there.

And he also happens to be an ex-boyfriend. Boy, won't *he* be surprised. (...yay!)

Breakfast (so far):
- Mocha frappucino (prepackaged) < I almost wish my mom hadn't got me these...luckily they only come in a pack of four, and I'm down by half. :D

Exercise: I'm going to hit the gym for half an hour before I drive to Tuscaloosa.

Watching what I eat is going to be difficult in Tuscaloosa, and I won't have access to a gym (sigh...I'm becoming a treadmill addict) but I'm going to do my best.

Just an interesting aside...this is what's on the front of the shirt that I'm wearing down to T-town to visit with my ex and our friends:

The shirt shows off my new muscles. :D

Hi Kellye

I have just gone through your diary. Well done on being so focused. Going to the gym virtually every day is certainly paying off. The size 10 jeans look great - and you can definitely see the improvements in the various photos. You are an attractive girl and you are definitely blossoming in your new regime. I am sure that when your ex (nice t-shirt logo) sees you - he will be kicking himself for ever allowing you to leave him.

You are right not to hang around for your cousin for going to the gym. If she is pregnant her mind will be on other things. You have aims in mind and a deadline for your project. If she wants to join you she always can - but you should set the schedule and go and if you see her there then that will be fine but do not hang around for her.

You are wise to focus on the change in inches that is taking place instead of weight. I know that I focus in my diary on weight - but I do also take measurements too. I started when I was plateauing back in September. A positive change in inches is always preferable to one on the scales. I do always have to be aware of my weight though as I did once put on a vast amount of weight in a very short period.

Take care
Love
Margaret

Thanks for reading, Omega! :D

So, I didn't do any exercise in Tuscaloosa, and I didn't watch what I ate, either. Lots of alcohol and finger foods. But whatever. I was on a holiday, so I wasn't concerned with it. I'm back on track today, though. I'm going to hit the gym in a little bit, after I clean up the house. My brother is coming home from San Diego (he lives on the USS New Orleans) for Christmas, so the pad needs to be spic and span.

Breakfast:
- bowl of Special K

Lunch:
- grilled cheese sandwich on wheat
- pineapple
- watermelon
- green grapes

Glasses of water (large, 16 oz.): **

Planned afternoon snack:
- carrot sticks
- tangerine

spiccing and spanning makes for good calorie burning.. you wanna come to m y apartment when you're done :)

Your brother a navy boy? oooh pictures in uniform please :) pretty please :)

Here's my brother in uniform...he's the one on the far right :D :

And here is the insane amount of Christmas decorations my family feels the need to put up every year. We have six trees. Yes. SIX. Count 'em. It's like living in a pine forest or something.

Umm -yeah -nice package :)

seee now i don't feel bad about my not having any christmas decorations - your family took my share :) well done :

Last night -

Dinner:
- bowl of spaghetti (with ground beef and marinara mushroom sauce)
- two small pieces of buttered French bread
- 1 Red Stripe beer

Exercise: Nope. Got all caught up with my brother coming in from San Diego. (Dammit!)

TODAY:

Breakfast: None

Lunch:
- salad (w/ croutons and 1000 Island)
- pineapple
- two pieces of wheat bread
- small plate of Tyson's grilled chicken strips
- water

What I *REALLY* wanted for lunch :toetap05::
- 12 count Chick Fil A chicken nuggets w/ sweet and sour and BBQ sauce
- large waffle fries
- large Coke
OR
- large stuffed potato with sour cream, cheddar, butter, bacon bits, and pulled pork
- large sweet tea

So, after dropping the ball in Tuscaloosa, I've definitely had a hard time picking up my good habits again. I'm not great at establishing good habits to begin with, and once they're broken for any reason, it's so much harder for me to start them up again. Can we say backslide? I know it's a bit inevitable, considering we're quickly coming up on Christmas weekend, but it's been so difficult getting back into my gym & healthy eating groove. Lunch today was definitely a score in my favor, and if I can only get off my lazy butt and go to the gym, I'll definitely be back on the right track.

Exercise: Yes! Went to the gym for 30 min. cardio (15 min. 3.0, 15 min. 3.5 Nautilus)

It feels so much better to get back in the groove. :D

Snack:
- 2 Tom Collins (small)
- tangerine
