God I Need Help

Ok so this is my first time here and I'm excited to be starting a new chapter in my life. My best friend and her twin sister are the reason why I'm here. We all decided to run our very first marathon together in October and being here will give me something to be accountable for. If evereyone can see my progress (or lack there of) maybe I will work just a little harder. I would like to be able to run most of the marathon without stopping, lose 25 to 40lbs, lose 2 to 3 dress sizes, and most of all, feel great!! Here's how I plan to acheive those goals:

1- calorie intake of 1200-1500 per day

2-cut out more sugar in my diet

3- jog at least 1.5 - 2 miles per day while increasing daily

4- keep hydrated

5- eat more fruit, veggi's, and fiber

6- go to the gym for weight training

If anyone has suggestions I would love to hear from you. To my two girls,
"Let's get this party started"

Day 1

Ok, today I got up at 5:30a.m. (a little later than I had hoped for) and went to the gym for about 45 minute. I warmed up on the cross trainer for 15 minutes then moved to the tred mill and was on there for a mile and a half, one of which I ran. I had shredded wheat and coffee for breakfast and salad for lunch and now something tasty for dinner. For dessert I'll have a low calorie ice cream bar (cuz it's hot out there). Let's see how that works out for the day. Till tomorrow every one have a great night!

If you are doing that much exercise a day, you should be eating more than that. If you google BMR calculator you can find out how many calories you need a day. To lose weight, you would reduce your maitenance calories by about 250. If you burn 250 caloies a day as well you can lose 1lb of fat per week.

You need the fuel to be able to run every day!

Hey Chica!!

Great job today! I am so proud of you. Way to get up at the a$% crack of dawn and just going for it.

Oh yeah, you will get loads of advice on this forum on what to do. All I know is, we got some donuts to loose, so let's do this!!

Can't wait to run the marathon with you by my side, or perhaps behind me. LOL Just kidding, some friendly sarcastic motivation, You know me!!

Go Ruthie! Great job on getting up and working out. I'm so proud of you! Today I wanted to hit the drive thru on the way home cuz I am exhausted and just wanted something hot and salty...but then I thought about you and Yolanda and the 1/2 marathon around the corner and I knew I needed to stay the course...LOL Especially since we are only on day 3! Keep up the great work...if you come over this weekend bring your workout clothes. We can go play some tennis or something :) xoxo, Bobby Jo

Day 2

Ok it is now about 6:45a.m. And I just back from walk/jogging for almost an hour and now I'm eating a bowl of shredded wheat again. (need that fiber) I hope I do well the rest of the day so I guess I'll let you know later. TTFN

Go girl!! I am mighty proud of you for just doin it!

I spent an hour on the track today, and I even jogged a bit. Thank the universe for my healing! No pain in my shins today. The secret is working!!!

Won't be long before we are doing it like oldschool. haha

Yeah Ruthie! I'm so glad you got up today and worked out. Can you believe we are all on track? I love it! Day 4 and going strong. Keep up the awesome job on the eating so you can see some results from our early morning exercise. You can do it!

Thanks to my girls for the awesome support they give. Today was a rough day at work and I'll be honest. I wanted some serious no no food. After my shredded wheat I had a slim and fit smoothie, another yoplait for a snack, and here's where I messed up, a cheddar and jalopeno bagel with cream cheese. Bad I know but my goodness it was tasty. Then more shredded wheat for dinner cuz I was to lazy to cook. Until tomorrow.

Shredded wheat for dinner? Crazy girl! Make sure you go buy some healthy foods that are easy to prepare so you can have a proper meal. If anything buy some frozen dinners or something that will fill you up and give you energy to work out the next morning. Don't worry about the bagel. I had 2 margaritas, 1/2 a personal pizza, and some french fries last night at the happy hour...but today I am back on track and ready to roll. Consistency will get us there. Love ya! Stay strong w/the diet :)

cheddar and jalapeno bagel with cream cheese? OMGoodness, my mouth is totally watering, and I'm not kidding!!

Way to get in that fiber. I need to get more in too.

I am going to come over tomorrow. What time are you wanting company? Let me know.

I'll be drinking diet coke with something that will put hair on my chest. haha

What are we going to do for dinner? Did you want to eat at home, or go out somewhere?

If we go out, this will be our first time testing our new way of eating. Oh lord!! We can do this with a little prayer and self control.

Write me back soon and let me know.

One more thing...

Monday is our first weigh in day!!

We have to update our tickers first thing Monday morning, so we can all see how week 1 went. I'm so excited!! I'm so happy we are doing this all together. Makes things easier, than all not eating good together.

Cheers to getting healthy!

Day 3

Yesterday was ok I guess. I of course got my butt up at 5:00 and went to the gym for about 45 minutes. Same thing 15 on the cross trainer and 30 on the tred mill. This time was more jogging than running though. I was sweating like a pig but I felt good doing it.

The food situation a little differant. I had a slim and fit smootie for breakfast
which is 70 calories and that was it until about 7:00. I was running on fumes and I did it. I went through the drive-thru and got a taco salad. I feel so ashamed right now. If I would have eaten right throughout the day I wouldn't have even considered it. This weekend I've got company coming over so say your prayers for me everyone. When Yolanda comes I know we can keep each other on track.

I'll keep you all posted on how the weekend goes. TTYL

Great job yesterday on the workout!!

Taco Salad? Mmm.... Did you eat the crispy shell? That is where you get into trouble.

Two more days until weigh in. Let's not blow it out the window tonight! lol A buffet is going to be a real challenge, but at least we will hopefully have some healthy choices in the mix.

then dance it off...... Let's get up early tomorrow and hit the pavement.

Cya tonight!!

day 4

Let me start by saying Thank You to my girls for coming to help me celebrate a new chapter in my book of life. I had a great time and Yolanda and I danced our butts off:jump: . Great exercise but I'm not sure if it was enough to burn all those extra calories from all the cocktails and food I had:doh: . This morning we all went for a nice long walk up a monster of a hill. I couldn't jog today but I feel good about what I was able to do.

Tomorrow is our first week weigh in. Wish me luck. My goal for the week is to really be good about what I eat and go to the gym every morning.

I'll let you all know how the weigh in goes. Till tomorrow.

Hey girlie!! Great job on week 1!! Let's try to do an even better job on week 2! Don't worry about Saturday...sorry I suggested the drive thru run knowing darn well that we were trying to avoid eating out. Next time I'll be stronger and keep my mouth shut. hahah

BTW, what's up with all those guys hitting on you on Saturday? Girl, you were rockin' it all over that dance floor. It was so great to see you getting all that attention that you deserve. Just think what is going to happen when you get more weight off and you are even more confident. I may have to beat them off w/a stick. OOUUU!!

Good luck giving notice today...hopefully that goes well and doesn't bring any undue stress. Think positive and about that new job. Make sure you get lots of healthy food in your house so you can stay on track this week. Hopefully we can hook up next weekend and do some fun exercise. I really want to play some tennis and go for a long run.

That 1/2 marathon is so close! Keep up the awesome work!! Sending you lots of love and support this week :)

Hey Ruthy!!

I had a great time on Saturday. Glad to see will still got some of our groove thang, though there is more to shake around the dance floor! haha

I really liked the walking paths in your neighborhood. We'll have to do that again sometime. The hills were a nice way to get your heart rate up, but they weren't so bad you couldn't go all the way up.

So Mel and I have weighed in today! I am sure you did great sista!!

Good luck this week. We didn't get in our morning workout yet, so we'll have to do it tonight.

Love ya!! Y
