Why would he have to do cardio? he is looking to gain weight, not lose it. He is an ectomorph so he is small to begin with. H e will never reach his goal doing that much cardio he should only do cardio twice a week, just to keep his heart healthy.
The other problem is his workout is seriously lacking any kind of function. Nothing for back except dead lifts? where are the rows. The workout should be basic. Bench, rows, squats, military press, biceps curl, and push downs. Nothing fancy but effective
if you wake up and do moderate cardio fasted you will burn fat straight away because you have no carbs in your system so there is no need to warm up for 20mins before you burn fat.
and if he has just done a weights session he will have probably used up his sugars/carbs so as long as he does low to moderate cardio heartrate approx 65% he should burn fat as soon as he starts doing the cardio.
