Hi Pink:)

Congrats on all your effort so far!!! Having a diary helps so much! Keep on and you will reap the rewards:) My goal weight is also around 61 kilos. May I ask how tall you are?

I hope you have a lovely weekend

Skinny wishes
Mel x

Thank you so much Mel for the congrats!! You have come quite a long way yourself!! Congrats to you on your success in weight loss :hurray::party::willy_nilly:

It is cool to have someone with the same goal as me :coolgleamA: I am 160cm the same as 5'3". I have a bit of a ways to go because I currently weigh 127Kg:svengo: but I am focusing now on losing 11Kg by 07/04/08. I think I can do it ;)

lol Skinny wishes to you too my friend and I hope you have a lovely weekend as well :hurray:
:cheers2: cheers

Hiya Kotki,

I did sleep good last night...I missed the gym because if it, but oh well....this weekend I am having a great health kickoff :p I am going to the gym on Saturday and Sunday for an hour (no work to rush to) and I am going to start cooking for myself this weekend. :D Nothing can stop me now :willy_nilly:

Seems you managed to have the best of everything on the Ayurveda test ;) Its great really, we are all different but all have such good qualities. From your scores your body is kapha and your mind is pitta. That is really cool and interesting.

Here is some additional information on Pitta

And here is some additional information on Kapha

And here is a link to everything because you have some qualities of all:

But you are more Pitta and Kapha. According to these things you have beautiful hair and features and I can tell it is true by your picture :)

I am vata in mind and body ...I cannot remember what the others were but in mind and body I scored 9 out of 10 for vata. So a lot of the things they say about my type are dead on, but by your scores I think you will find some things they say to be way out there. Well even for me some things are way out there, and I ignore all of the negative stuff. I truly believe if we entertain negative things and believe in them they will overtake us. We all have the power to be positive and make our lives positive....now if i can just figure out how to apply that at work

Hi Ginger,
Congrats on starting this process, and already losing!!!! YAY! I adored your quiz, I love things like this...anything self questioning or anything that makes me think about who I am is wonderful for me. I ended up being a "pitta" and reading the description, it really does sound like me. I'm glad you're here, and I look forward to your posts!!

I am also trying to revamp my life, I've changed my sleeping habits and my usual routine quite a lot since I started. It feels good! Have you taken the fun personality quiz on imgaini? It's wonderful.

Hello Carrie,

Thank you so much:D I am putting forth my best this time around and I am positive I will make it :)

You know, I once read this thing with the dosha descriptions and I think whoever wrote it was absolutely wild about pitta women :rotflmao: He was saying that Pittas are the most beautiful (face and body) of all the doshas. I think all have good qualities and am also a bit conceited so ..... I think I am cute too :D

I am like you...I looove taking tests that tell me about myself. Self exploration is a many splendoured thing :D

Best wishes to you on revamping your life.:hurray: It sounds like you are on the right track. :) Changing sleeping habits is a BIG deal and will really make you feel different all around. I need to change my sleeping habits and I am working on it. That is one thing the ayurveda was right with about me...I have to do things to "woo" sleep because I will stay up all night even though I am dead tired.

I just took the visual DNA test and absolutely loved it LOL It was right about me for the most part...and when i say most i mean like 99% LOL The only thing I disagreed with is that I am a creature of habit and I like routine because I am completely the opposite!! I am actually trying to make my life more habitual and consistent...maybe I am supposed to be a creature of habit but am not :p Oh .... you know what LOL the visual DNA test even told me that I am not getting enough sleep LOLOL

My results for the test were:
Mood: Easy Rider
Fun: Escape Artist
Habits: New Wave Puritan
Love: Touchy Feely

Pretty neat stuff. Thank you so much for sharing this with me. I look forward to hearing from you again and I will start my hunt for your diary after I get some sleep:sleeping:

Nice meeting you :) Take care!!

:willy_nilly: Hurray! I have found someone as into these things as me! And I love how happy and upbeat your posts are! Are you a big self help book fan like me? I think you would adore Martha Beck..."Finding Your Own North Star" is my favorite. She's a contributor to O Mag, which I also love.

Where are you from?

My imagini profile came out to be wild cat, escape artist, new world puritan, thoughtful.

Hey, we matched 2/4. I am totally an escape artist. Any chance to get away and I'm off. I'm not sure about the wild cat thing though, LOL

Carrie you are too cute :grouphug: and cool if i might add:coolgleamA: lol I am so happy you came across my diary. Well to be honest I have never read a self help book. I tend to read books on languages, world religions and science. Can we say NERD...no I am just kidding LOL I love to travel and I love the earth so I think it is why linguistics and science are two of my favorite topics. I am going to get the book you recommended today though, I never thought about reading a self help book but it makes sense that I would like them :) I'll tell you what I think about it too if you do not mind:D I'll try not to ruin it for anyone though. Maybe we can all get it and talk about it here :-D that would rock!!

Where am I from...I never know how to answer that question....but being that we are not face to face I think you mean where do I live. Its pretty cool :coolgleamA: we both live in Florida. I live in Fort Lauderdale right next to the everglades. Normally when people ask me where I am from, I tell them I am from here and they ask me again "Yeah but where are you from?" I think it has something to do with the cultural diversity in South Florida.

I have been to Tampa once before and I really liked it...so many years ago though. I was thinking of moving there, but I need to visit again and stay a little longer this time. They have a test on tickle about which city in the United States best suits you and my results were Seattle :) I think I will visit there as well. Have you ever checked out the tickle tests? Here is the link to the Mind and Body tests
I think they're fun.

So you're a wildcat eh...it means i better watch out! ;) I am a true escape artist as well. I never hesitate to get the heck out of dodge, whether it be locally or traveling abroad. I also stalk Expedia and find ridiculous fares sometimes. I traveled to Spain and Africa recently and the tickets only cost me $635 or something like that. With only one stop!!! I have not decided where to go this year though.

Guess what everybody I lost one more pound :willy_nilly: wooooooooooohooooooooo that totals 2 pounds this week:party: and only 23 more pounds to go on my 25 by 07/04 challenge :D

Hey, Congrats on the pound lost, that's GREAT!!!!!!! :) :) :) We are going to DO THIS!!!!
That's cool that we're both in FL. Since you gave your measurement in kilos I thought you may have been in England...
I am SO SO SO jealous that you've been to Spain and Africa. What did you do in Africa? That sounds fascinating...That's on my list...you know, the "50 things to do before 50" list, LOL.
I have some family in Amsterdam, so I was hoping to go there this year. How in the heck did you get tickets that low???? I went to Italy a few years ago and paid 1500 for mine!!! We have got to TALK girl, LOL. Check your pms!

NICE! I've picked up a love of languages and etymology since I started learning Spanish a couple years ago. I'm trying to decide which language to try and learn next. As well back in high school I studied a fair bit on esotericism, ancient myths and polytheistic religions. And as for science... huge science nerd all around, here, of which my name here is a reference to.

Congrats!! That's fantastic and certainly a healthy rate to lose at. Good for you and keep it up!

I checked mine now you check yours ;)

I tend to give my measurements in different ways depending on who I am talking to. I am 5' 3.5 inches and 281 lbs, because my frame is small I look 100lbs less but I feel 100 lbs more:svengo: I was telling some of my buddies on another thread that they always put the 50lb measurement @100 lbs less than what I am. Of course unless the scale is electronic then they just open their mouth in awe...sort of cool yet annoying.

I found some fares for your trip to amsterdam :D On orbitz....I was not sure if you wanted to stay 2 weeks or 1:

Dates ticket ticket+tax #of stops
06/10/08 to 06/20/08 884 998 1 stop
06/12/08 to 06/18/08 864 978 1 stop

11/06/08 to 11/12/08 473 832 1 stop
11/06/08 to 11/19/08 473 832 1 stop

Check it out! I went to Morocco in Africa. LOVED it. Did not like Marrakech though.

Thanks for the congrats Darwinfish :D The only polytheistic religions I have really studied are Hinduism and some Greek mythology. Jainism and Buddhism are also pretty cool. Still reading up on all of them though. I looove etymology as well. Spanish is cool. Might I suggest if you are looking to learn another language that you try Japanese? The vowels and diphthongs are strikingly similar to Spanish and the consonants as well...just the "F" and some others are a little different. It would be easy to pronounce now that you know some Spanish. The one major difference with Japanese is sentence structure...most latin based languages have a subject/verb/object sentence structure and japanese has a subject/object/verb sentence structure (if I remember correctly). Oh and Italian would be easy to learn too I think, especially where vocabulary is concerned. When I hear people speaking Italian I understand a lot of what they're saying because the words are so similar to Spanish. Right now I am starting a book on geology and thermodynamics :D never studied it formally but I am totally interested in it. So here's to science nerdism :cheers2:

Nataliejo!!!! Thank you for popping in hun :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: Thanks for the congrats and congrats to you too for sticking it out and hanging in there. You have reinvested your efforts wisely and you will be a success. I have total confidence in that :grouphug: Love you always :)

Hi there!

Thank you so much for stopping by my diary and leaving your sweet compliments! You are off to a great start!

I was curious, so I took the dosha quiz - I am vitty!

(I hope I spelled all of that right!)

Hahaaa Tyly,

We were in each others' diaries at the same time. You are a vata like me :D That is really inspiring. I think I will read your entire diary to capture your journey. I am really moved and am seriously considering taking on the journey as well. To run a 5K used to be a big dream of mine but I really put it off because I am way out of shape. The other day I was having difficulty even walking and started membership with a gym immediately. I hope I am not coming off mushy but to see your progress truly has me emotional and I am really thinking about the couch to 5K thing :)

:grouphug: Congrats once again!! You are truly amazing!:hurray:

What I wanted to tell you about cholesterol is that our body makes all of the cholesterol it needs so everything else we put in is added. I have heard that the best way to lower cholesterol is to exercise. I found this article for you

Thanks so much. :) It seems to be so hard to get away from Cholesterol, everything that I like has cholesterol in it it seems.

Also, congratulations on your weight loss this week!! Incredible!! :D It seems like pound by pound you're gonna make that 5K happen.

Dani

dont worry if you dont go to the gym because your tired you could always try and do some exercise at home at your pace like running up and down the stairs (i do that) lifting cans of soup in each hand helps!

Thanks for the info :)
i wouldnt say about the hair Lol i have natural wavy hair Lol it seems to only be manageable when i straighten it but when it is straight it is lovely and shiny and soft!

i try to concentrate on the postive in life ect as i can be a very down sad person but if i focus on the good things then i feel better!

kotki x

YVW Dani :D And thanks for the congrats...I really am trying.

Kotki I also try my best to focus on the positive. In doing so I often ignore the negative...some say its good, some say its bad...and I am totally okay with it. For example. I avoid the news like an incurable virus...I will just get weather updates online or something to make sure the next hurricane does not blow me away :D

Well everyone went to bed too late last night and I am exhausted so no gym for me this morning...BUT I have decided to start running.:hurray: Or at least start the path to get there. I read a little more about the couch to 5K thing and I do not think I am quite ready for that yet, but I am ready to start taking the steps to get there. I plan on designating 20 minutes to some attempted jogging/running this evening. I probably might only be able to do one minute at a time and that's cool with me. There is a lovely path behind my house filled with lakes, canals, and vegetation. I do live a few blocks from the everglades so I really hope no alligators managed to get into those bad boys :p I am not designating a lot of time to it, I know (because 20 minutes includes warm up and cool down), but I think its a good start. There is a running club in the clubs section and I am going to join it. So...thank you so much for the inspiration Tyly. :) I am so excited. And thanks Kotki for reminding me I can work out at home LOL. I also plan to catch up on my belly dancing this evening so I am sure I will have more than enough exercise today. In any event, I will let you guys know the outcome :D

Hi Ginger,
You are doing GREAT! I'm excited for you starting to run, that's wonderful. There's nothing more I want than doing the couch to 5k, and I'm getting there slowly, I'm walking more and more, which is a start. I bet we can do it if we keep each other motivated! I'll be your C25K buddy!

Hey Ginger :)

The C25K program is terrific. I'm now in Week 8 and love it. I think it's great that you tend to focus on the positive side of things and in return typically ignore the negative. What a great way to look at things! I need to work on that. I'm a Capricorn and sometimes have a tendancy to be pretty pessimistic... Not always but, more than I need to be;)

Hope all is going well for you today,
Sam

PS. Still love your avatar. I was pretty sure it was Liya Kebede. She is an amazing model. She was the first black model to have a multi-million dollar contract with Estee Lauder and she is still in many of the major runway shows at almost 30 (not old at all but when your a model they think that is, lol)...

Okay so....did Ginger run today??? :coolgleamA: Yes she did. I will tell you how it went :D I went outside and decided which direction I was going. I picked the cool way with the palm trees and flowers and shrubbery, canals, etc. like I said last night (no alligators by the way). So I started by walking, then picking up the pace. Then I stopped to stretch a bit. Then I started walking again, I started wondering how it would feel, I could barely walk sometimes for crying out loud...what the heck do I think I am doing? I was worrying about my fat and if it will shake so much until it hurts :rotflmao: my belly in particular I was wondering if I would start feeling sick. Then I was like "Okay lets do this!" And I started running. I was a little surprised. It felt like I was gliding. I did not feel out of control or like I was going too fast. It was not difficult at all, nothing was hurting, and I did not feel jiggly like jell-o. It was sweet. No other word can I use to define it but...sweet. I thought I would be panting and stifling. Amazingly I had long steady breaths and was moving faster than I was breathing. I thought I would be awkward with my body jiggling all over the place, but i was smooth and steady and had a beautiful rhythm. My first run was 1/2 of a looong block. Maybe about 30 seconds. I stopped and started walking again and that is when the panting started :rotflmao: I think my body was like WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED HERE? So I waited until I was breathing regular again and started running again. This one was about half of a block too, I was going to continue running across the street but a car was coming out so I stopped. And something so beautiful happened. There was an overweight lady in the car. She stopped and smiled and got really excited and motioned for me to keep running with so much enthusiasm :rotflmao: I thought she was going to start clapping. I waved at her and she waved and kept smiling. I walked a little then I started running again. This time I had to stop because my side started hurting. I knew what that meant. NOT ENOUGH WATER. I walked slowly until it subsided and started to walk back home. I started to feel better so I decided to run just one last time. This time I did 3/4 of a block :D. I wanted to stop at half but I pushed myself and believe me these blocks are long and they curve. I think all together I ran a little over two minutes but I was walking and running for 35 minutes. Not too bad. It felt really great. I was really amazed. I imagined it much worse and much more difficult. I think I just need to take some water with me next time and I will do better. Or drink more water a little before I run. Suggestions anyone?

I really impressed myself :-D :hurray: I am so happy I did this. :D AND I cannot believe how easy it was! All I had to do was pace myself and when I began to feel overwhelmed I started walking again. I even pushed myself and was fine. So now I have a new addiction!!:cheers2:

I give myself 5 stars :-D ***** Blinding aren't they :coolgleamA:
